I grew up in Wisconsin and in my township alone we had 20 snow plows. In the county well over 100. I remember only a handful of 'snow days' where we got out of school because the local government was so good at plowing the roads. No one needed chains really and everyone drove slowly and cautiously in bad weather.

You are dealing with small equipment. I know the ploys have semi engines. but they are not made to push heavy packed snow at road speed. Traction engines seem old, they are, they need to be modernized. But steam can push without struggling. You can use compressed gasses, or pellet safety water tube boilers. Like the tankless you use in your house. Drop the blades down, all the way across, pour on the steam, and clear whole highways.

It seems like all cars in possible snow zones should have tire chains in the trunk and know how to put them on.
I grew up in Wisconsin and in my township alone we had 20 snow plows. In the county well over 100. I remember only a handful of 'snow days' where we got out of school because the local government was so good at plowing the roads. No one needed chains really and everyone drove slowly and cautiously in bad weather.
@@rabbit251in most towns and county we can't use chains any more ( they ruin the roads roads and you will get a big fine for using them
@@BerniceRule Yes, that was the same in Wisconsin. The logic was that they plowed the roads so you didn't need chains and yes, the chains would chew up the roads (especially if they had been plowed).
