After a year and a half of doubt and disobedience, I have been pursuing God seriously and almost desperately. I have seen people pray in tongues my whole life but it seemed like "too much" for me. I didn't understand it and it was kind of intimidating and scary, to be honest. However, this past Sunday I woke up around 3am and decided to pray. I prayed that the holy spirit would come into my life and come upon me. 5 mins later I was speaking in tongues and crying. It was so surreal and crazy but faith-affirming and strengthening as well. It feels like I've hit a new level with my walk with God and again, to be honest, it's a bit scary. I'm so thankful for Alyssa's videos because they have encouraged me through depression, anxiety, and doubt. You are definetely helping others build their relationships with God. Thanks for allowing the lord to use you.

One thing God has been teaching me lately in the verse where it says "give us this day our daily bread," is that prayer is a daily thing. The bible says pray without ceasing and I love that Jesus makes sure to say "this day" so we know that we need to be praying and communicating every single day. And it's funny because I'll pray about something one day and then expect that prayer to carry over into the next day/forever-until the end of time lol. But God has been really speaking to me about coming to Him for my daily bread. Like Amber, if you need help today or joy, or a good attitude at work, or maybe a desire to read the Word, ask me today, ask this day for your daily bread. Wonderful Acts Hey, Alyssa, I watched the John Bevere video, actually watched the full 2 hour sermon and also some from other teachers as well, been up all night actually. I was literally getting into researching more about tongues and some other spiritual gifts when you posted. There is another UA-camr named, Grace and Mercy unto You, who believes everybody should speak in tongues, I don't think for salvation, but I know for sure, she said as evidence that you have and are filled with the Holy Spirit. She was literally on a live talking about this before you posted. I watched the John Bevere video and he further depended my understanding about the gift tongues. I already believed it was real but I struggled with what exactly It should sound like, what it is exactly, etc., and scriptually he clarified most of that a great deal. I was literally up last night flipping back and forth in my bible with him (I love when preachers do that lol). But then he gets to around 50 something minutes and he loses me, which is where he would have proved that everyone SHOULD speak in tongues. Romans 8:26-27, wasn't clearly explained like he did the others as it pertained to it being a personal gift everyone should have. I have always seen Romans 8:26-27 as, no one knows how exactly (us being earthly and not knowing what we need or what others need) so the Spirit Himself (speaking through us or not speaking through us) interceeds for us according to the perfect will of God. For He knows us completely and He knows God completely. And I understand what Bevere is saying after about these verses as it pertains to those who speak in tongues, but he believes everyone should, but he didn't show that scriptually as he was going to, so now I have to add whether Romans 8:26-27 is for everyone or just those who speak in tongues. I'm at a crossroads now as to whether or not everyone should, though I lean more towards no, not everyone, as I believed before last night, but they really, even you and Mark 16:17-18 have me now wondering if yes, everyone should be able to, at least in personal prayer, as Bevere believes. But I don't see/understand that just yet, so I say all that to ask, resources Alyssa! Lol, do you have anymore? Specifically with emphasis on using the Word to show it clearly, in context. Because I'm like there are so many godly people who don't speak in tongues but they may have other gifts. If tongues if evidence, isn't discerning spirits, knowledge, wisdom, faith also evidence of the Holy Spirit being present in an individual? I don't say healing, miracles, and prophesy because I often see them equated (maybe except prophesy) together and also they are very open and clear signs as opposed to the others and I think interpretation is pretty self-explanatory lol. All that said, I don't want to get caught up with the gifts and place them above the giver, because I still believe that Jesus said you will know them by their fruit (which every believer gets varyingly) not by their gifts (but then Mark 16 lol) though it is believed that the gift of tongues/being filled with the Holy Spirit is a separate experience from conversion/baptism (looking into that one too). I do however think it IS possible to obtain a Spiritual Gift you would like to have by prayer. I also think if you just leave yourself opened for God to do what He wants in you life Spiritually (well and in general 🤣), than He can lead you to pray for a certain gift. That is what happened to me, I was reading my bible one day and God led me to pray for the gifts of Discerning Spirits and Prophecy and then I got them. Well I actually think I had the gift of Discerning Spirits for a while before I was even aware, but I got the gift of Prophecy last year and I love it, I think its SO COOL, though I did have some troubling and worrying experiences in regards to a loved one were the Lord showed me someone in bad situations and I had to pray and ask Jesus to help me, the other person and to tell me what I needed to pray for them. But I have not had to use it for any other dangerous situations since last fall. In the end the person left both situations unharmed and in a car accident that they had for one circumstance I had to pray about for them, they left a head on car crash with just some bruises. I thank God for His strength, Love and Mercy. God is good even though I don't always know why He allows things to go according to an unknown plan. God bless you!

Recently I noticed while I was praying I kept saying words like “us, we, our” and in the middle of praying I would stop and think why am I saying “we” no one is here praying with me.. it’s just me here and I would change the words to say me, I, etc. and I just realized it doesn’t matter if someone is around me. I also don’t need to know in detail who the spirit leads me to pray for. I should say we, us, our because I’m praying for the body of Christ! Thank you!! 💗
I think my best prayers, the ones that come from a deep place, happens when I realize that God is my father. Like my earthly father was amazing but God is like a million times that. And when I realized that our relationship was filled with that much love it opened our communication. If that makes sense....

Krisi, I remember when I first wanted to be filled with the Holy Spirit and I was not sure how to go about it or what speaking in tongues would sound like. I really didn't know what to do, and a thought just came to my mind to pretend that I was speaking in a foreign language. That may sound sacrilegious but it got me started saying something and God honored it. It only took a few sentences and I realized that their was sentence structure to what I was saying. You will know if it is you or the Holy Spirit and you will find that you say things, complicated things, that you could not duplicate if you tried. You will also find that God will probably give you more than one language. In short, you will know that it is real and that it is not your own mind making pretend. For me there really was not emotion. I just decided I needed it and went for it. Krisi, all I can tell you is that the Holy Spirit is the best friend you will ever have and He will help and comfort you more than words can say. God bless you and see you in Heaven!

Loved your video. I always wondered why Jesus said the Father would give us the Holy Spirit when He was speaking about fathers giving needful gifts to their children. It always seemed out of place. I did not realize that He was giving Him to help us to pray. What a revelation. I love praying in the Holy Spirit...He is like a kindred spirit and I love Him.

Thank you so much for this video. It encouraged me to be persistent in my prayer and reminded me about the intimacy of calling God my Father. When we think of the characteristic of what a father is called to be, it makes it that much more easier to believe that you will recieve what you are praying for. It also makes you feel safe. And not only all of that, but when you think of the fact that God is not like man, and that He is the great I am and can do exceedingly, abundantly, above all we can ask or think, it helps our unbelief and increases our faith that our father God wants to do and will do what's best for us, and that He loves. And for those of us that have not had the best examples of what a father is, draw closer to God, pray and read His word and He will show you what that means and He will help you to forgive your Earthly father. Anyway, thank you so much for sharing this video and not cutting it short. It truly blessed me and I am sure that it has and will bless many others.

So timely! I literally just finished telling God that sometimes I hesitate asking for specific things because it seems that something unfavorable occurs in order for me to obtain it. I'm not able to pray in tongues, which dampens my prayer confidence quite a bit. I have asked for the gift of tongues more times than I can count, but... I feel like God is withholding something great from me, that I really need. I just want to pray without the enemy knowing what I am saying! 🙄
Beyond Blessed & Highly Favored the Bible says that the Holy Spirit gives gifts to who He desires. Meaning they are His gifts not ours. Some people have more than one gift in the Spirit but those gifts are to benefit the church. I do believe in the gift of speaking in tongues and the interpretation of Tongues. People can pray and praise in tongues and not always know what they’re saying. Isn’t it better to pray knowing that He already knows what you’re going to ask and that with His mighty love will give you all that you need! Ask for The Holy Spirit to always be with you, we are all entitled to His presence and influence as children of God! Concerning the enemy, don’t focus on the one who causes you to look to the storm like Peter did and sank in the water because he took his eyes off of Jesus. Focus on the God you know that will lead you away from and through the storm. And you can also pray in your mind. I hope this helps! 💕😊 God bless!
Don’t let the enemy make you feel “less than” because you don’t speak in tongues. Psalm 84:11 says the Lord is a sun and a shield. He gives grace and glory, and No good thing will he withhold from those who walk up rightly. Read the Word of God, and believe God for a move of His spirit.

I thank you so much for this video sis! Literally this morning I was reading the part in John when Jesus prayed for the disciples and all future Christians before being betrayed and I was just in awe of how beautiful His prayer was. Last July I received the Holy Spirit and it has been a wildd ride! LOL. Speaking in tongues is something I do, but am very apprehensive for others to witness. This past month in my prayer life there have been many moments where I go to pray and not a word of English comes out, and I was asking the Lord why is this happening? When you started praying in tongues I literally said out loud "i'm not alone!". I immediately began to start praying myself. The Holy Spirit is a treasure from the kingdom of Heaven. Don't stop what you are doing it is truly inspirational! You are unashamed and unafraid, it's amazing.

Wow Alyssa thank you for this! There's a verse from Exodus 23:22 that tells us to get ourselves ready, that God is sending an angel ahead of us (the Holy Spirit) to get us to a land He has prepared for us. I wrote this verse down a year and a half ago and stuck it on my desk. Today while listening to you the Holy Spirit turned my focus to a post-it where I wrote that verse. It now makes all the sense girl! That angel is the Holy Spirit. He's with me and is leading me to a place God ordained for me. I was taught growing up, when you want to pray for a specific thing, to pray and ask for it once and then after that you should continually thank Him in Advance as if you have already received it.. so it's still praying, but you're speaking it into existence through Faith. Recently I noticed while I was praying I kept saying words like “us, we, our” and in the middle of praying I would stop and think why am I saying “we” no one is here praying with me.. it’s just me here and I would change the words to say me, I, etc. and I just realized it doesn’t matter if someone is around me. I also don’t need to know in detail who the spirit leads me to pray for. I should say we, us, our because I’m praying for the body of Christ! Thank you!! 💗
I think my best prayers, the ones that come from a deep place, happens when I realize that God is my father. Like my earthly father was amazing but God is like a million times that. And when I realized that our relationship was filled with that much love it opened our communication. If that makes sense....

Krisi, I remember when I first wanted to be filled with the Holy Spirit and I was not sure how to go about it or what speaking in tongues would sound like. I really didn't know what to do, and a thought just came to my mind to pretend that I was speaking in a foreign language. That may sound sacrilegious but it got me started saying something and God honored it. It only took a few sentences and I realized that their was sentence structure to what I was saying. You will know if it is you or the Holy Spirit and you will find that you say things, complicated things, that you could not duplicate if you tried. You will also find that God will probably give you more than one language. In short, you will know that it is real and that it is not your own mind making pretend. For me there really was not emotion. I just decided I needed it and went for it. Krisi, all I can tell you is that the Holy Spirit is the best friend you will ever have and He will help and comfort you more than words can say. God bless you and see you in Heaven!
I also had to wait and pray for a couple months before speaking in tongues, which felt like forever, but it was so worth the wait! So keep praying and you won't regret it ❤️

Loved your video. I always wondered why Jesus said the Father would give us the Holy Spirit when He was speaking about fathers giving needful gifts to their children. It always seemed out of place. I did not realize that He was giving Him to help us to pray. What a revelation. I love praying in the Holy Spirit...He is like a kindred spirit and I love Him.

Thank you so much for this video. It encouraged me to be persistent in my prayer and reminded me about the intimacy of calling God my Father. When we think of the characteristic of what a father is called to be, it makes it that much more easier to believe that you will recieve what you are praying for. It also makes you feel safe. And not only all of that, but when you think of the fact that God is not like man, and that He is the great I am and can do exceedingly, abundantly, above all we can ask or think, it helps our unbelief and increases our faith that our father God wants to do and will do what's best for us, and that He loves. And for those of us that have not had the best examples of what a father is, draw closer to God, pray and read His word and He will show you what that means and He will help you to forgive your Earthly father. Anyway, thank you so much for sharing this video and not cutting it short. It truly blessed me and I am sure that it has and will bless many others.

So timely! I literally just finished telling God that sometimes I hesitate asking for specific things because it seems that something unfavorable occurs in order for me to obtain it. But this reminded me that He keeps no good thing away from those who love Him. He's not going to give me something that will harm me. Thanks Alyssa for the reminder!

Beyond Blessed & Highly Favored the Bible says that the Holy Spirit gives gifts to who He desires. Meaning they are His gifts not ours. Some people have more than one gift in the Spirit but those gifts are to benefit the church. I do believe in the gift of speaking in tongues and the interpretation of Tongues. People can pray and praise in tongues and not always know what they’re saying. Isn’t it better to pray knowing that He already knows what you’re going to ask and that with His mighty love will give you all that you need! Ask for The Holy Spirit to always be with you, we are all entitled to His presence and influence as children of God! Concerning the enemy, don’t focus on the one who causes you to look to the storm like Peter did and sank in the water because he took his eyes off of Jesus. Focus on the God you know that will lead you away from and through the storm. And you can also pray in your mind. I hope this helps! 💕😊 God bless!

Don’t let the enemy make you feel “less than” because you don’t speak in tongues. Psalm 84:11 says the Lord is a sun and a shield. He gives grace and glory, and No good thing will he withhold from those who walk up rightly. Read the Word of God, and believe God for a move of His spirit.

I thank you so much for this video sis! Literally this morning I was reading the part in John when Jesus prayed for the disciples and all future Christians before being betrayed and I was just in awe of how beautiful His prayer was. Last July I received the Holy Spirit and it has been a wildd ride! LOL. Speaking in tongues is something I do, but am very apprehensive for others to witness. This past month in my prayer life there have been many moments where I go to pray and not a word of English comes out, and I was asking the Lord why is this happening? When you started praying in tongues I literally said out loud "i'm not alone!". I immediately began to start praying myself. The Holy Spirit is a treasure from the kingdom of Heaven. Don't stop what you are doing it is truly inspirational! You are unashamed and unafraid, it's amazing.

Wow Alyssa thank you for this! There's a verse from Exodus 23:22 that tells us to get ourselves ready, that God is sending an angel ahead of us (the Holy Spirit) to get us to a land He has prepared for us. I wrote this verse down a year and a half ago and stuck it on my desk. Today while listening to you the Holy Spirit turned my focus to a post-it where I wrote that verse. It now makes all the sense girl! That angel is the Holy Spirit. He's with me and is leading me to a place God ordained for me. Amen! I was taught growing up, when you want to pray for a specific thing, to pray and ask for it once and then after that you should continually thank Him in Advance as if you have already received it.. so it's still praying, but you're speaking it into existence through Faith.
