    The liner on my pool is doing that and I have been wondering how to fix it. Great tip, I will have to do this when I open it up for the season!

    My pool is above ground but this was great explanation in regards to not worrying about water getting on either side which was my concern. Will give this a try🎉

    Hey mark i have a few soft spots in the floor of my inground vinyl pool what would you recommend to fix it.

    • @HallmarkPoolSupplies
      @HallmarkPoolSupplies  Рік тому

      I am not sure about soft spots unless you have a high water table or a leak, this could be the cause. I would recommend that you contact a pool professional in your area to take a look. You should be able to fix this. Thanks for watching.

    We have a few sand /rocks behind liner (between liner and pool wall ) (it’s a kayak pool - installers installed this way but refuse to fix since it’s been a couple years ) how do we get them out it’s really wearing through the liner .

    • @HallmarkPoolSupplies
      @HallmarkPoolSupplies  9 місяців тому

      In order to clean the sand and grit behind the liner you will have to lower the water level in the pool. Leave at least 1’ of water in the pool to help keep the liner in place. Once the water is lowered you can remove the liner from the wall and wipe behind the liner with a rag, you can also rinse with water and use a shop vac to remove the water and debris. After it’s clean you can put the liner back, make sure that you only do 3’ to 4’ sections at a time. Thanks for watching.

    Hey mark, I’m have a problem with my padding behind the liner coming up and making the liner wrinkle and bulging out… any tips?

    • @HallmarkPoolSupplies
      @HallmarkPoolSupplies  Рік тому

      If you are referring to wall foam, then you would have to lower the water to repair. Do not drain the pool, this will cause more problems. If you leave at least one foot of water in the shallow end of the pool you will be fine. Without seeing this it is hard to say, there are a lot of variables such as the age of liner or the water table in the ground. A high water table can cause this, you may what to have a pool professional take a look. Thanks for watching.

    My liner is 2 years old on my inground pool. This year i have noticed 4 wrinkles on both walls of the pool. Can you recommend a technique to get the wrinkles of the walls of the pool?

    • @HallmarkPoolSupplies
      @HallmarkPoolSupplies  Рік тому

      It depends what caused the wrinkles, if you have a high water table this could be the problem. You might be able to lower the water level in the pool and work the wrinkles out. If you have to lower the water more, leave at least 1' of water in the shallow end, do not drain the pool. Without more information or seeing the severity of the wrinkles it is hard to say. If the liner is several years old it will be much harder to fix, because the liner will not stretch or smooth out easily. Thanks for watching.

    Can you use wedges

    • @HallmarkPoolSupplies
      @HallmarkPoolSupplies  2 місяці тому +2

      Yes, most people that have troubled areas around the pool will use liner lock (screen molding) or nickels as a wedge to help hold the liner in place. However, if the liner is locked in good it should not come out of the track. Thanks for watching.

    I’m in Canada and I need to do this on two areas of my liner. I’m curious why it’s okay for water to get behind the liner? Where does that water go? If it stays behind the liner won’t it freeze in the winter and expand?
    It’s okay for water to end up trapped behind the liner?🤔

    • @HallmarkPoolSupplies
      @HallmarkPoolSupplies  2 місяці тому

      It’s fine if water gets behind the liner, the water will not get trapped and will dry. Thanks for watching.

    What do I do if the liner is real tight and there is some dirt behind the liner?
    Where does the water go that gets behind the liner?

    • @HallmarkPoolSupplies
      @HallmarkPoolSupplies  11 місяців тому

      You want to clean the liner the best that you can and if you get water behind the liner it will be fine. If you have a liner section that is real tight, you may need to lower the water level in the pool about 4”to 6”. This will allow the liner to stretch a little more when using the hot water. Thanks for watching.

    My liner won’t stay in the coping. It keeps,on pulling out. How does it stay in place?

    • @HallmarkPoolSupplies
      @HallmarkPoolSupplies  Рік тому

      If you put the liner in properly it should lock in and stay in place. If you have troubled areas where the liner does not want to stay in the track, you can use liner lock. Thanks for watching.

    I have a problem. Liner will be 5 yrs this Sept 2023. Deep end, appears to be cracking. Rough, looks like cracked wore out leather. Has a yellow or light brown tint to it? Cant hardly push vacuum across it. Doesnt seem to be leaking. Pool is open year around.

      Housekeeping, water balance and the type of chemicals used plays a big part in the life of the liner. Thanks for watching.

    Mark are you still taking phone call requests? We just moved into our new "foreclosure" that has a very large grecian style pool. As we live in a very rural area, it's hard to get service at our home. We need a bit of expertise on getting the pool back up and running. Please let us know and we'll probably be your FAVORITEST... consumer of knowledge. Thanks!

    17 years and never burned a hole with a hair dryer. or used hot water duck tape to help pull up some times but thats it sides maybe a very blunt screw driver (do not recomend less you know what your doing)

    Can you use a heat gun?

    • @HallmarkPoolSupplies
      @HallmarkPoolSupplies  11 місяців тому +1

      Yes, however a heat gun is normally not recommended because you can burn a hole in the liner. If you use a heat gun you have to be very careful not to stay in one spot to long or get to close to the liner. I recommend using hot water, it is much safer and gets the job done. Thanks for watching.
