Well the original plan was to take the CAT in 2021 itself since I am in my Final year now and didn't think I would be able to manage both. But due to the nationwide lockdown I did start preparing slowly and steadily and when the form for this year came out, I filled it up too. So to answer your question, yes I am taking it this year but my mindset towards the 2020 exam is less result oriented and more learning oriented.

Thanks, Anurag :) As far as college name is concerned - it doesn't matter. The myth exists because generally the more reputed institutes also offer better opportunities. I had many batch mates from tier 2/3 colleges. Your academic marks hold far more importance, along with what you do while in college (extra-curricular). And as far as the course is concerned - some courses get benefit of diversity at some institutes, thereby lower percentile requirement. But, any panellist doesn't determine in advance whether a student from 'x' course should be selected or not. As long as you can add value, be it because of your graduation background or otherwise, you stand a chance to get in.

You have plenty of time till the exam, so try applying to more number of firms via Internshala or LetsIntern and in order to increase your chances of selection, pursue some online courses to gain skills relevant to the field in which you are applying. 2. You don't get to mention PORs anywhere during MBA interviews. It is only during placements that you may require proofs and for that, the proof collection takes place after joining a B-school, not before. Leaving CA won't backfire if you're able to justify the reason behind it to the interviewers. You already have a great holistic profile. Just look out for other things mentioned in the video and see if you're interested in anything else. If it's field-specific, e.g. finance, you can just learn more about the concepts or keep yourself abreast with the latest happenings in whichever field you're interested.

In case of before MBA, what could be relevant live project for mba. and i won silver medal in state tournament but unfortunately i dont have certificate.... so still should i mention in my CV. and for mentioning head boy postion...one has to prove that one used to be a head boy/ head girl....? because i dont have proff... should i get a certificate from my school that i used to be head boy of my school.

You need not collect any proof rn. They are arranged after getting into a B-school basis placement cell criteria.

If you find me fluent enough, I can share I wasn't like this back in school or even college. Repetition makes you proficient. I had to give a lot of presentations in B-school, which could be one reason how this happened. I'd suggest to practice extempore at home, alone in front of a mirror. Set aside 30 mins daily and speak on any topic. That will improve your fluency.

If you're asking for MBA interviews, then you can mention about this POR during the interview without a need for proof against it. But, once you get into a B-school, you'll require proofs. One of the best ways is to get the e-mail ID of the professor/student body concerned. You can e-mail them later to verify your points. The CV verification process differs in each institute, which is why no one gets proofs before getting into B-schools, they only collect them later on. I feel experience in any form be it virtual or not will be helpful for sure - most interviewers don't ask if an experience was virtual or offline. Now-a-days anyway most jobs have become virtual.
Mam can you share from where did you do your internships? Was it off campus or on campus. I was club coordinator in school can I mention that. Also our team once represented at national level science congress in 8th standard. Can i mention that? Di , I am from a tier 3 college and we don't have clubs and event organizers designations as such in our college, but I have arranged a lot of events in my department like seminars, functions and competitions etc. So can we mention that under POR section provided we also don't get any certificates for that too.!?
You can mention, but after getting into a B-school you might need a proof for it. Instead of a certificate, if any professor from ur college can verify it over email, even that can work, depends on what the placecom of your college asks for.

For internships, I used to refer to Internshala, LetsIntern and the placement cell of my college. Courses by Coursera or Udemy are good for gaining knowledge, but the value of their certificate is not a lot when it comes to B-school placements.

Thank you. There's nothing degree specific that I'm aware of but generally people will work-ex try gaining skills relevant to their work background or the field they wish to get into (e.g. CFA for finance)

Leaving CA won't backfire if you're able to justify the reason behind it to the interviewers. You already have a great holistic profile. Just look out for other things mentioned in the video and see if you're interested in anything else. If it's field-specific, e.g. finance, you can just learn more about the concepts or keep yourself abreast with the latest happenings in whichever field you're interested.

1. Live projects aren't listed anywhere. You need to reach out to companies and ask if there's a need.
2. Medals are also a proof, can be written in CV or mentioned during interview.
3. You need not collect any proof rn. They are arranged after getting into a B-school basis placement cell criteria.

If you find me fluent enough, I can share I wasn't like this back in school or even college. Repetition makes you proficient. I had to give a lot of presentations in B-school, which could be one reason how this happened. I'd suggest to practice extempore at home, alone in front of a mirror. Set aside 30 mins daily and speak on any topic. That will improve your fluency.

If you're asking for MBA interviews, then you can mention about this POR during the interview without a need for proof against it. But, once you get into a B-school, you'll require proofs. One of the best ways is to get the e-mail ID of the professor/student body concerned. You can e-mail them later to verify your points. The CV verification process differs in each institute, which is why no one gets proofs before getting into B-schools, they only collect them later on. Hey ma'am! This was some really good content out there! I just have a doubt, I am currently an engineering student in computer science from NIT and I have my CAT next year. I am not at all interested in computer science but finance fascinates me, will it be okay if I have skills in financial domains and not in CSE? as in it won't throw a bad impact on the interviewers naa that I did not take my undergrad stream seriously?

I feel experience in any form be it virtual or not will be helpful for sure - most interviewers don't ask if an experience was virtual or offline. Now-a-days anyway most jobs have become virtual.

Di , I am from a tier 3 college and we don't have clubs and event organizers designations as such in our college, but I have arranged a lot of events in my department like seminars, functions and competitions etc. So can we mention that under POR section provided we also don't get any certificates for that too.!?
You can mention, but after getting into a B-school you might need a proof for it. Instead of a certificate, if any professor from ur college can verify it over email, even that can work, depends on what the placecom of your college asks for.

For internships, I used to refer to Internshala, LetsIntern and the placement cell of my college.
Courses by Coursera or Udemy are good for gaining knowledge, but the value of their certificate is not a lot when it comes to B-school placements.

Cause i am having a 2yrs of gap after my 12th science, now opted for BBA and right now i registered for CFA 1 Aug 2021 exam as my finale aim is finance.. I am also planning to do financial modelling after this and even before opting for bba i decided to do mba in future so started with qaunt from the 1st year itself. Ma'am, can this Cfa 1 and FM will compensate my 2yrs gap which i had after 12th?? And can this will help me in interviews and summers and final placement??
It should be able to do that as long as you justify why you took a gap in the first place to the interviewers.
