There’s a reason why this channel just went over 550,000 subscribers. This new version of reactions is simply amazing and for those of us of a certain age this so enjoyable listening to our heroes talking about those amazing times. Thanks Rob Squad. ✌️
I’m going to go ahead and predict it now…Jay & Amber will be featured on a major morning news outlet by the end of 2024! Putting it out into the universe 🌌
The information you're getting in these videos with the artists is so unique that it's most likely of interest to historians. Facts may be spoken that weren't known to the world before.
It still sounds as Cutting Edge and Unique as the first time I heard it, 60 years ago. It's great that Colin still has Genuine Enthusiasm for the Music and the Magic that can happen in a studio!
You two have taken reactions to a new level. When I first started listening to your channel or even other reaction channels I never would have imagined an audience would be taken to this level of entertainment. Be proud, you now are "King and Queen" of this genre. Thank you!!!
Very cool of Colin and any other artists who are willing to do this. It shows they care about their legacy and have an appreciation for their place in history. Grreat story about the recording of the song. Yeah, I'd have been thinking the same thing as him if some drunk was cursing me out. I'm glad things worked out as they did.
I just rewatched this after reading about the health setback of Rod Argent. That recording story is just epic. Great performance. May Rod get well soon!!! Zombies Forever!!!
Colin Blunstone! What an incredible treat for all of us who used to blast the Zombies on our record players back in the day! They were one of my favorite bands and he’s still got ‘it’! Thank you so much for having him on and for all the other fantastic artists you’ve had on too. You’ll never know what a thrill it is to us to see you interview our musical heroes!
Kathie says… This is an absolute THRILL for me tonite!!! I Loved / Love the Zombies! The first time that I heard SHE’S NOT THERE played on the radio I HAD TO HAVE THAT RECORD! I starved for three days at school lunch time because I saved up my lunch money to buy the record at the corner drug store!!! It was SO WORTH IT!!! I played that SHE’S NOT THERE over and over again, driving my mother crazy!! 😂 Thank You Colin and the Zombies for the joy you have given me through the years through your awesome music!!!
Great video. In 1964 I was 11years old. Between The Beatles and The British Invasion I realised I was part of musical history that will never be duplicated. Have a wonderful day.
AMAZING STORY ABOUT THE STUDIO'S SOUND ENGINEER PASSING OUT DRUNK DURING A LEGENDARY SONG BY A NEW REPLACEMENT ENGINEER WHO HIMSELF BECAME A LEGEND IN HIS FIRST ACCIDENTAL SONG!
WoW! Colin is amazing! In my humble opinion, you haven't heard The Zombies at their best yet. Their 1968 album "Odessey and Oracle" is a masterpiece from top to bottom and I'd say it's in my top 10 albums of all time. I put it up there with Beatles albums and it sounds amazing having been recorded at Abbey Road studios as well. It's truly a 5 star album and a must own! P.S. Colin... in the off chance you see this comment, thank you! 🥂
I got a big grin on my face when Colin mentioned the keyboard based sound, they included a little bit of "Gimme Some Loving". That was The Spencer Davis Group. ❤
There was something haunting about the way singers in the sixties sounded, I think it was the way the voice meshed with the instrumentation, and the electronic settings, those hammond organs. fuzzy tones.
Wow…you’re putting together serious, quality content. Not that you weren’t before, but you’ve ramped it up with the interview/vignettes. You both have the touch!
The fact that it took until 2019 for the Zombies to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame tells you everything about the Hall of Fame. They should have been in decades ago.
You got Colin Blunstone! Great interview. You guys are getting better at it. The mix between the conversation and the video being played is good now too. Great song and story about recording it. It's special to hear stories about songs I have been listening to almost all my life. I had never seen this video before. It's wonderful to see the guys getting together and having fun. Loved the solos. Colin also sang on The Eagle Will Rise Again and Shadow Of A Lonely Man with The Alan Parsons Project.
I saw Colin two years ago with the Zombies on his birthday In Jim Thorpe, PA . Excellent show, and Colin still has the pipes, and Rod still has the fluent ability on the keys! Great new music too!
Wow! "She's Not There" is a great song and what a cool window into rock history Colin Blunstone provided! Thanks for sharing your reactions and for adding Colin to your stream. Kudos to all. :-)
This song brings me to a moment when I was 9yrs old. I was in the back seat of our 57 Ford going home from grandma’s house in Brooklyn back to Long Island. We exited the Belt parkway. She’s Not There was playing on the radio. Each time I hear this song I think of that.
Their follow up single was Tell Her No. "The Spring of "64" was just when a slew of British groups jumped on the Beatles' coattails and "invaded" America. After the Dave Clark Five and Gerry and the Pacemakers came the Zombies, Manfred Mann, and the Searchers. By the Summer, there were a bunch more. It was a very exciting time. We couldn't buy our $2.77 albums fast enough and couldn't play them enough.
Yes, Colin Blunstone, and Rod Argent, were good friends of my girlfriend Gerry, they all came from around the St Albans area, and they were friends with Tim Heart, and Maddy Prior, from the band Steeleye Span. We used to go to "The Boot" pub. Good Times, also Donovan was around at the same time he came from my home town Hatfield. Great Times.
I heard that when the Zombies started performing they had to decide who would be the lead singer. Colin B. was hired as a guitarist not a singer. It's incredible that someone so gifted wasn't automatically selected to be the lead. He's undoubtedly one of the best singers of the British Invasion groups.
Thanks Rob Squad!!! Colin was one of my childhood heroes as was this band. Rod Argent is very talented as a keyboard player and writer. You guys RULE!!! Thanks again.
I’m 78 years old and this song was my song in my drinking and drugging days! Been sober a long time now but I still remember this song very well, the title was me. I love the recording story! Just amazing!
Boy I hear you. Been there done that, got the album.... LMAO Everytime I hear that song, it transports me back to 1974, to Key West Florida, on the beach, soon to meet the Blonde who will change my life.... Thanks guys!
I’ve been fortunate to see Colin Bluntstone many times in his various guises. I remember buying his solo album One Year in 1971 and it still remains a favourite album. The brilliant Say You Don’t Mind is from it. Thanks for your chat with Colin.
The Zombies are probably my second favorite British Invasion band after the Beatles. They had so many awesome songs and they've even done some brilliant work in this century. I got to see them live several years ago and they were fantastic! Rod Argent is one of my favorite rock keyboard players of all time and Colin has definitely worked to keep his voice in good shape after all these years. If you get a chance to see them live, do yourself a solid and check them out.
Oh I loved this. Colin Blunstone is such an amazing singer and gentleman. I followed his music when he went out on his own . Caroline Goodbye is a favorite. ❤
*Woah* !! 😳 I mean - 🤯 This was amazing!! I love the Zombies. ✌🤩 It was awesome that you played 2 versions from totally different time periods. It showed that their music has not only stood the test of time, but is still relevant, appreciated, loved & sounded great! But, to have Colin *Right There* to listen with you both & have a conversation. What an honor. Also a very kool experience. Groovy❣
What a treat--Colin Blunstone!! I LOVED their songs in high school!! Thanks for a stellar show, Amber and Jay!! Thank you, Colin, for all of the great songs and memories!! Love to you all!!!
The lead vocal is excellent. The harmony vocal & the instrumentation is excellent. the song itself is EXCEPTIONAL. There is a play going on between major and minor chords.
Colin Bluntstone, he was a regular on the UK University circuit in the mid-70's. Must have seen him a dozen times. Sounds as good now as back then and comes across as a thoroughly grounded solid, fascinating guy. Great catch Rob squad.
This song goes back to my freshman year of college 1963/64. The British Invasion was just starting to seep into the music scene here in the States, and everyone I knew was grabbing onto hits by groups like the Zombies, the Kinks, Herman's Hermits, the Beatles etc. I was 18 in '63, so Colin Blunstone and I are the same age. And, I still chant in my parish church on most Sundays and Holy Days.( Orthodox Christian - Antiochian Jurisdiction ).
Great to see and hear Colin Blunstone in person. I saw the Zombies in around 2005 in the UK. His voice was/is absolutely incredible. Thank you for sharing this, a real treat.
WOW - HOW COOL!!! LOVE The Zombies!! SO, SO GOOD!!! :) Thanks for the interview Colin, Jay, & Amber!! :) LOVE IT!! SO GREAT TO HEAR THESE STORIES FROM LEGENDS!! HUGS, YA'LL!!
Absolutely LOVE this video, thanks guys! The story of the very first time in a studio was unreal Colin. I am going to be 64 in a couple weeks, and I grew up listening to the Zombies, but I never heard that before. Amazing!
Huge song on its own and then later in movies/tv. You're getting such great artists, thank you for sharing their stories with us and for letting them share their music with the younger generations!
Rod Argent was a tremendous talent. Always loved Colin's voice. I remember this song coming out when I was in fourth grade and they played the local AM station on the radio in the school bus. I thought it was as cool as anything the Beatles did then.
Yep, Rod Argent and Colin Blunstone made last year a new Zombies album. Also loved Blunstones solo singles in early seventies and his work as vocalist for the Alan Parsons Project.
Teen girl of the sixties whose mother played music in the house all of the time and I thank her every day. Why music is my first love. When everyone else was going crazy over the Beatles and Led Zeppelin, I was listening to the zombies, the young Rascals, & the Guess Who. Had to. Marry hubby to appreciate the Beatles and Led Zeppelin who I love now.
I remember watching this vid live when they Zombies were (finally) inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Rod's solo was amazing, but the fact that he was conducting the rest of the band throughout blew my mind.
I really love your new series. The back stories are so fun to hear. These are the songs of my generation. The way you two are learning about the songs and taking them to heart, makes me so happy. Keep going you guys. I love you both.
Most beautiful voice I have ever heard. Voice of an angel. Zombies are amazing and Colin's solo work is gorgeous, and of course, his songs with the Alan Parsons Project are among the best ever recorded. I think you guys even recently did his Old And Wise song,
I am loving this series. It’s wonderful how you are delving into music history and meeting with amazing creators with so much intimate knowledge that should not be forgotten and needs to be shared
You're doing a smart thing here Jay and Amber, getting these legends of classic rock on your show live to react to their songs and here their stories. Unfortunately, we are losing many of them, so this is a brilliant idea to pay homage to them and get their inside stories while they are still here.
Wow. How great to hear the background story of a song I’ve loved since I was in single digits! Amazing that it was your first recording and in only @3 hours! Thanks for sharing!!!!
This is so cool having the artist on with you two. The show was already compelling, but with the artist's insights & comments and clips from other musicians...so much richer! Thank you!
Cool. I saw the Zombies at the Ottawa Blues Fest about 8 years ago and was impressed at how great Colin (still) sounded. At the same venue, I also saw Procul Harum, John Mayall and Dave Mason, all Brit acts I never dreamed I'd ever have a chance to hear live. Thx for this.
Great interview. Two things to mention. The Doobie Brothers had two Drummers. You have to react to the Manfred Mann song "Do Wah Diddy", one of the most popular songs of the 60s, a "golden oldie" .
Thanks, kids! the Zombies were amazing.. this was a hit for them, and also "Time of the Season".. they had that groovy, eerie minor-key sound.. (not sure it's widely known, but they provided some background music for a very cool, creepy 1960's movie called "Bunny Lake is Missing".. it's awesome! (the movie, and also the little-noticed music by Z's.. "Just out of Reach" is the song, I believe)..
Songs of my youth, I was 14 when the song came out and it was so popular, and unique. Loved it. Now they have enhanced and improved that song, I wish I had the opportunity to go to one of their concerts in those days of the past. Wow.
To get a true appreciation of how talented this group is, I suggest purchasing the box set “Zombie Heaven”, which contains nearly all the material the original members recorded. Not a bad track in the entire collection!
This is a great creator moment. Thanks for sharing it with us. But wait until you get into their masterpiece album, Odessey and Oracle, which also features “Time of The Season”, their other huge hit. But every song on that album is a banger. Highly recommended. As is the entire career of Rod Argent and Colin. Including their work with the band Argent. Some of which I think you may have reacted to already. Maybe “Hold Your Head Up!”. Their biggest hit with that band. But it’s all great. And you have at least heard two sets of drummers with The Allman Brothers Band and The Grateful Dead. (And Santana did a great version of this song).
I absolutely loved this song. I liked just about everything the Zombies did. My first job as a 15 year old was cleaning our church. I had a small reel to reel tape player and would clean the church at midnight on a Friday night with the Zombies cranked up so loud you could hear it outside. This song, Tell Her No and I Love You were my favorites.
You guys have just taken a big step. I am so glad that you did this. And kudos to Colin Blunstone because, man, his pipes are still working it. Thumbs way up.
This was a pleasant surpris! I've been a Fan of The Zombies for a long time and especially enjoy discovering their deep discography. I've purchased cd's or vinyl of all of their recordings and have found many new favorite songs of their's from the 21st Century. An interesting one to react to is called; A Moment in Time from their album Breathe Out, Breathe In. The Zombies have a YT channel there's a studio recording of it ready to go. 🎶✌️🫴🍁🎶
This came out the year I was born so obviously don’t remember it from the time, but, heard it on many juke boxes & radio stations growing up & bought an original copy in my late teens. One of my most treasured possessions 😊 Loving this chat
There’s a reason why this channel just went over 550,000 subscribers. This new version of reactions is simply amazing and for those of us of a certain age this so enjoyable listening to our heroes talking about those amazing times. Thanks Rob Squad. ✌️
Can we just appreciate how good Colin Blunstone's voice is even now at the grand age of 78 WOW!!!!
His voice is unique ❤
His voice was less strained when the original came out at age 18.
@@unclebobunclebob Thank you!
@@unclebobunclebob He admits that himself in the interview... only natural.
Is this Sex pistol Steve Jones? If it is, hello mate!
I’m going to go ahead and predict it now…Jay & Amber will be featured on a major morning news outlet by the end of 2024! Putting it out into the universe 🌌
I can definitely see that happening.🙌🏻
Yup. They've already been the subject of a local Oklahoma station. It's on UA-cam!
As I've said many times.
It’s gonna happen!
Just the same as the rest of the reactors ..I like them but not specially
The information you're getting in these videos with the artists is so unique that it's most likely of interest to historians. Facts may be spoken that weren't known to the world before.

All the Zombies' songs are timeless. It's amazing how their music can sound so '60s without sounding old.
I love the Zombies, and this dramatic tune. I'm grateful that Colin Blunstone took us back to the past. Thank you to all of you.
What an honor to talk to him.....to share stories of rock history by the these giants.
I got a big grin on my face when Colin mentioned the keyboard based sound, they included a little bit of "Gimme Some Loving". That was The Spencer Davis Group. ❤

Tell me about it. I don't think the Guess Who have even been nominated. Too much politics with the HOF.
Colin is great with his contributions to The Alan Parson Project, too.
I've always loved this song, it's such a classic!
An amazing guest in Colin from the Zombies!
Best Wishes

WOW - HOW COOL!!! LOVE The Zombies!! SO, SO GOOD!!! :) Thanks for the interview Colin, Jay, & Amber!! :) LOVE IT!! SO GREAT TO HEAR THESE STORIES FROM LEGENDS!! HUGS, YA'LL!!
I saw the Zombies in concert a few years ago and Colin’s voice still sounds exactly the same! It was a great concert!

I was just listening to this song yesterday and thinking this song is so great. This is now my favorite Zombies song.
Hopefully he'll bring "Tell Her No" next!! (you've already done She's Not There and Time Of The Season)
I really love your new series. The back stories are so fun to hear. These are the songs of my generation. The way you two are learning about the songs and taking them to heart, makes me so happy. Keep going you guys. I love you both.

Zombies were always a favorite of mine when they were played on the radio. Such a great great band!!!
I absolutely love this song.
The Rob Squad sure has come a long way the past 3 yeard
That was a great story about the engineers. Those behind the scenes stories are always so interesting!
Great going Rob Squad, you guys are on a roll! Such a brilliant voice and a fine gent
Wow. How great to hear the background story of a song I’ve loved since I was in single digits! Amazing that it was your first recording and in only @3 hours! Thanks for sharing!!!!
Now us old fans are learning from Amber and Jay. Love these reactions with the original artists.
This is inception! And one of my favorite zombies songs.
This is so cool having the artist on with you two. The show was already compelling, but with the artist's insights & comments and clips from other musicians...so much richer! Thank you!
One of my favorite songs, I was born in 64, remember hearing it when I was 6 or 7.
Colin worked with Alan Parsons Project and sang lead on one of my favorite songs of theirs that you reacted to....Old and Wise

I had a small reel to reel tape player and would clean the church at midnight on a Friday night with the Zombies cranked up so loud you could hear it outside. This song, Tell Her No and I Love You were my favorites.
Blunstone & Argent! 🤘🤘🔥
This made get teary. Thank you.
Watching the creator of one of my favorite tunes reacting to you guys hearing it for the 1st time ever... that's next level guys. Awesome.
My favorite part of this series is watching how the artists respond to Amber & Jay's reactions.
How brilliant, from an old British woman. I just love you two, I want to adopt you. Those were the days, but still going strong Colin. what a legend.
You guys have just taken a big step. I am so glad that you did this. And kudos to Colin Blunstone because, man, his pipes are still working it.
Thumbs way up.
Colin’s solo career is worth checking out too - especially ‘I Want Some More’. I adore his voice.

Susanna Hoffs gave them an amazing induction
This came out the year I was born so obviously don’t remember it from the time, but, heard it on many juke boxes & radio stations growing up & bought an original copy in my late teens. One of my most treasured possessions 😊 Loving this chat
I was a 2 yr old baby in 1964...but I do remember this one playing for years throughout my early childhood. It's quite memorable.
Oooooh I LOVE THIS SONG! Great vibes.
