Nice going Jeff. Everything you say about this helicopter is true. I’ve been flying mine since the end of September; Along with the TB60 It’s my go-to heli. It really is a fantastic machine!
Nice flight! Crashed my Goblin 500 last week. Broke a servo, the main blades and som minor stuff. But the tailboom, canopy and shafts survived. The model is built to last :D
It’s definitely a tank! This one had a bad Servo. It was in a bind and burn the servo up in flight. It went in, and the only damage was a Servo Horn, servo, tail blades, and tail boom! I was impressed!
Jeff what profile do you fly your Ikons in? 3D profile I'm assuming? Also, which switch on your transmitter do you have this profile set to? Do you merge it into your general FM switch or a dedicated switch?
So my profile/flight mode is modified as I do a lot of changes in the advanced menus, but I select 3-D, and then modify it from there. But yes, it is set to my B switch (Idle up witch) so low head speed is very tame an docile, and as I crank the head speed up the helicopter is faster and more responding.
@@westhobbiesrc8051 so then how do you have the self level mode setup if you have it on your B switch? Ikon says not to put self level on default flight mode because the swash will not properly initialize and I like to initialize my heli's on default flight mode. I would love to set it on my my B switch as well, so that I can flip it to default flight mode (all the way back on my transmitter) and that will be the self level. Then I can go forward to idle up 1 which would then map a sport profile in Ikon without self level then go forward again to idle up 2 again without self level. This would be inline with how my Goosky S1 and S2s are setup which I love. I'd like to keep this the same across over to my Ikon heli's. I normally fly in FM1 and if I get in trouble I'd like to be able to flip all the way back into default flight mode which also is bailout, like on my two Gooskys. I hope you und what I'm trying to say. If so do you have any ideas on how to make that work?
Excellent flight and video as always, Jeff! Making me want a Raw 500 to add to the collection! 😅 I sent an email a little before Christmas about a Goosky RS7, I was wondering if you received it? The subject was Goosky RS7 and it’s from Aaron. Thanks for everything you do! Much appreciated!
Hey Aaron! You should definitely get one! It is an awesome machine and such a great every day flyer because it’s not too big or too small! I did not see that but I will double check. I was away for the holidays and got a ton og emails and probably missed it.
@@westhobbiesrc8051 I will probably get one eventually! I have always liked the 500 size, it is exactly that, a great every day flyer not big but not too small. Thank you! I know it is a busy time, I didn’t want it getting lost, I understand, no worries! I will send it again, thank you.
Thanks for all the help! She flys great , especially now that the vbar is in it !!
You’re welcome! I bet it flies even better on Vbar!
@@westhobbiesrc8051 Vbar for life from here on out 👌game changer
Good Job Jeff

It really is! Such a great flying model. Tons of power and yet feels lightweight. Solid as a 700 as well! The TB60 is fantastic!
Can’t wait to summer break to fly these every day😌
Great flight bro! I think you were irritating the birds🤣🤣
Thank you! I think so too! They came out of nowhere!
Nice flying sir as always
Great looking heli
It really is! Everything SAB makes in quality!

I would really like a video comparing the 420 and the 500. But also the 500 vs 580.
I can definitely do the 500 and 580 and will be doing the 420 and 500 video soon! I’m building anther 500 now so once that’s done I’ll get to filming!

Hi Jeff. What was the issue that caused the crash?
