It took forever because there's so many to test...😂😅 The spur thing was interesting, we always used dog nail clippers. I'm glad ya'll take the responsibility of testing the fowl regularly. Love ya'll ❤️

This was so interesting! You are very good at describing and teaching what was going on. You take great care of your chickens.
When I lived in Arizona, I was trained to do the testing for NPIP because I showed chickens in poultry shows. I also learned how to take the large spurs off the chickens. You did a good job teaching the methods.

In nj we pay a lot of tax lol they send person out to help test. I had 117 birds we did it all in less then 2 hours. My friend and I were chicken catchers! Think it cost less then 20 bucks for bird flu test and N/5 H/7. Mouth swab is 25 birds or 30% I can’t remember. So happy for you that your approved npip. I know the feeling it’s something most people don’t have. People think they will kill your flock if it tests positive. So not true. They will help you save your birds. Good stuff friend!! They do grow back, just like a finger nail:)
Chrissy, You did that like it was nothing. I'm going to call you Dr. Chrissy.😊 When you took the outter spurs off of jerk face, I was surprised he didn't give you a hard time. I have to say, there's a blogger who took off his roosters spurs with a sawzall (that really ticked me off when I seen his video). I don't think that was the right way to remove spurs. I considered it dangerous (I maybe wrong saying that). Needless to say, I no longer watch his families videos.
oh my, that would be so scary for the chicken too!! I don't often remove our roosters spurs but since I had every single bird in my hand that day, they all got maintenance care :) He surprisingly was pretty calm! He is still such an ass LOL ( I was a nurse for years so medical procedures and needles don't bother me :) )
