I will tell you this, as we have thousands of years of experience on this: if one does not have Leadership, it is doomed to fail (leadership drives the other 6 points). i.e. - even bad ideas with GOOD leadership last much, much longer than they should. I get all the Data collection, but the variations of good leadership you will not capture with "metrics"; you really have to focus on "what IS 'leadership' and then what is GOOD leadership". p.s. - your great list of "common weaknesses" are all consequences of poor leadership. Fully agree: auditors are NOT commonly intellectually equipped to assess FSC. For reference, W. Edwards Deming really is the founder of some of these points. in Q&A Bill's question really drives my points.
