  • This is a proper old traditional Irish stew, as it should be cooked and served, nothing fancy ,good veg and cheap bit of lamb the end result is truly something special, try it , i promise you, it'll be Grand !!

It was usually made from neck of Mutton, Lamb is fairly tasteless and there is not much to it, if you can't get Mutton. then Hogget is a better option than Lamb. I always throw in a couple of sprigs of thyme. But whatever bit of sheep you use, enjoy!

hey Brandon hope youre on the mend brother, and yes the third day as you saw its turns out like that , traditionally thick, just be careful to cook it slow especially on the 2nd and 3rd days and stir gently every half hour or hour so it doesnt stick on the bottom, and around 3- 4 hours of cooking time each day , long and slow is the key. thanks again brother!

I paid £12 for lamb last year and two weeks ago I paid £15 for a leg in Tesco in London. Very expensive meal.

Grand indeed Brother, Great looking Stew. You had me laughing out loud with that Coors thing, too funny.
I know how good that Stew was because I make a similar version. I just can't wait 3 days to eat it. I used all the exact same Veggies but I usually use Leg of Lamb that I have cubed up. It is costly here in Boston but I only make it 3-4 times a year.
Oh and I know that Secret Ingredient is, I won't spoil it for the rest thou.
    Great Cook Dave!!

*DAVE!!* I LOVED it!! That was the most perfect dish for St. Paddy's Day... I've only had lamb once, and would love try that flavor with these veggies.. And that secret ingredient was JAMESON, at least in my imagination ;) ... Kickass video my friend, possibly my favorite one from you so far.. Your editing is Rocking too.. Cheers Laddie!!

This is Whats for Dinner Lol many thanks my brother leprechaun so you are , to be sure , you really should try it on day 3 the taste is superb ! by the way the secret ingredient was a "bit of blarney" (the gift of the gab) i guess BS would be a reasonable guess too lol. the only person to come close was a Romanian cab driver bud who also enjoys cooking , called Catalin. stay sharp bro , im looking fwd to your next video.

But a stew is supposed to have gravy. A stew without gravy is dry, that's like making a Sunday Roast without gravy...then you just have a dry roast!! Some people make it as a soup, I don't like that either. Like this version sending link, it's more like a soup than stew.
