You are not alone with your feelings of fatigue. The weather in my area has been creating havoc from a cold, dry spring to abundant rain and now extreme heat. I have spent so much money on seeds, tubers and corms and have not accomplished my goals due to my lack of mojo. As you mentioned in this video, perhaps next year will work out better and I did manage to clean up my beds and replant some perennials. Gardening on the whole is exhausting but take time to sit back and enjoy the fruits of your labour! Some of my peonies finally bloomed this year and I am thrilled because some of them were given to me by my late mom. Your aunt would be very proud of you! Cheers from Alberta, Canada!
I hope you are feeling recharged after posting this video Crane. Your beautiful flower bouquets and your bright personality lift me up each time I watch one of your episodes! I appreciate you so much! 🍓❤️🌺
i love the style of your videos! it’s a peek into your life with education, cooking, story time, life ups and downs, and having fun! thank you for not “following the rules” and for sharing with all of us, it’s truly a treat and i look forward to each of your videos ❤️❤️🌻🌻 i hope you’re able to get a bit of rest and recharge and be able to enjoy all of the beauty you’ve created! ☀️☀️🥰🥰
I rarely comment on social media but you inspire me Crane. I would love for you to be my neighbor, coworker, friend. I can tell! And your garden is to die for…really I’m here for the landscape design. And you inspire me to put the same energy, pride, and love into my own garden.
Your were the cutest little boy I ever seen. Now you are a wonderful man. God bless you. I am a 75 years old flower maniac. I say that because I think I love them too much, and yes I wish I had flowers beds like yours. I really enjoy your show.
I have to tell you…I have taken cuttings from all my different hydrangeas and they are starting to take root after just a couple of weeks. I am SO excited! FREE hydrangeas! Gorgeous video… thank you. ❤
My wild bunny ate every Zinnia sprout except 1. If I didn't receive so much joy from my garden buddy (he hangs with me while I garden), I would be upset. Now I just say, "You're welcome for the good meal, thank you for leaving me 1" I ❤ this video, your garden is incredible and you are glowing like a proud poppa
I love all your videos Crane and they absolutely brighten up my day!! I'm always looking forward to see you and Jason, the garden, the cat and to hear how you are doing! You made me laugh out loud when you combined the drama, lama, banana-rhyme with the alpaca :)))) At the moment I'm also in such a drama-lama-banana- moment of my life and it makes it much easier with your drama-lama jokes! Thank you so much!!! And: Having saved 4! cats I have to tell you, that yours is really a tough one! But you and Jason will get her/him on your side, I'm sure! Good luck with the cat and everything else! I send you all my love from denmark!!! 💖🤗🌻
I know how hard it is to maintain a large garden. I had one until my mid-50’s. It was too much to maintain alone. You are very lucky that Jason shares your passion and does so much work to maintain the garden. Take a break when your body says enough. Like any passion that you love it can drive you to exhaustion and you start resenting it instead of enjoying it. Maybe cut back on what you do. Or could you do this full time instead of your day job? I have to say your bouquets are amazing. I came across a local roadside stand in my area and the bouquets were not as beautiful or full as yours. Nor did they have the wonderful variety of flowers and colors. I would happily pay more for a bouquet like yours. You have a unique gift.
I love how you tell the cosmos thanks for the lesson before throwing them out. I know it sounds silly to most people, but I sometimes feel guilty cutting my flowers because I don't want them to die. Even though I know i have to if I want to sell them (I can't justify growing so many flowers without selling them, too 😅) Maybe if I start looking at it as some kind of lesson the flowers are trying to teach me, I wont feel so bad cutting them? Thanks for the lesson in the bouquet building. I really struggle with that the most.
Such a beautiful video! Thank you for sharing your gift with us! Always remember hot July and August are always the toughest for us gardeners! Spring will come again!! 💐🌱🌸🌺🌱🌷🌻🌼🌱
I love what you said about the different reasons some cannot have all of those flowers like you. I myself struggle with birds, 110 degree temperatures, and poor soil. I’m going to work on my soil this fall so it can hold more moisture and nutrients. Hopefully that will get me over the triple digit threat next year. Thank you for sharing 🧡
Take a break if you need to. Taking care of yourself is important. Even though you weren’t feeling great your bouquets were amazing! You are truly gifted.
I just started watching your channel and I'm amazed at the beauty you've created. At this time I am physically unable to garden, so I'm enjoying watching you. You are such an inspiration.
It’s okay to feel overwhelmed , don’t lose hope you will start enjoying it again probably more than before. I enjoy every video of yours. Love from Toronto❤
I know the feeling Crane 🥹Sometimes the garden overwhelms me to the point I think of quitting. Especially during this unbearable heatwave 🥵 I had to take out some Zinnias to have more air circulation because I also got some powdery mildew. The pests also seem to populate more rapidly than I can protect my flowers 😩 But then I’ll see my beautiful flowers 🌸 as I drive up to my house and then I think they are like family. They drive me crazy but I can’t imagine life without them 🤣 Keep gardening my friend. It is all worth it!
Thank you for such a long and wonderful video. Despite the lama and drama, your garden is beautiful. It is a glorious place and is nurturing so much wildlife and hopefully you and Jason as well. Work really interferes with gardening, doesn’t it! Loved the bouquet making. Have a great weekend.
Thank you so much for this video . With everything going on now, it’s so nice to take a break from it all and spend some time in your garden. You are the Mr. Rogers of the garden world! LOL
Hi Crane, another fun filled video, thank you! I'm also obsessed with hydrangeas, I've lost count after 25 ☺ I've tried direct sowing my tall sunflower varieties (3 different ones) unsuccessfully as well, I think the birds ate all the seeds! In the same spot, our raspberries and blackberries were eaten by the bunnies. So I've re-sowed them in the same spot again. If at first you don't succeed, try, try again! As soon as I see germination (if they germinate) I plan to cover them with a cloche. I now only have the small Teddy Bear varieties left and these are growing in my raised beds, they're pretty small and the rabbits aren't bothering them there. Yay! My snapdragons have been my most successful in my first year growing cut flowers, I had 1 1/4 beds (4' x 8') and have had several bouquets from them. Do you grow snapdragons? I tested a zinnia bed 1/2 direct sow, 1/2 soil blocks; I've dead headed a few of the soil block plants. The direct sow zinnias are behind but growing. They weren't planted till June since the raised beds weren't ready for the zinnias till then. I've been debating about Floret's zinnias, wondering if they're worth it vs. Johnny's and Baker's Creek. Maybe next year? Hoping you will check out my new channel, I would love any advice from you! Anne @MartinHouseFlowers Also, I've had bad sciatica pain for the last 2 months, trouble walking after 10 minutes. But it hasn't stopped me from gardening while sitting on my stool that my daughter from Canada sent me for Mother's Day. My husband says I'm a stubborn girl! Feeling down & demotivated is normal especially with all the challenges and pressures of life, but I just go back to the basics of why we grow flowers and a garden. It brings us so much happiness and joy! At my age, I've learned that nothing worthwhile comes without hard work. Just take the time you need to stop & smell the roses or enjoy the beauty around you that you've created! 👩🏻🌾💚🦋
Love this video, hello from Nova Scotia Canada! My goal is to have most of my cut flowers in perennial borders, I love growing vegetables too and currently completing my master gardener training. You gave me some great ideas in this video, thanks!!
Bouquet burnout. Don't worry about having to have a running commentary all the way through your videos, your beautiful flowers speak for themselves. Take good care... you are loved and appreciated
Hi Crane, i really like watching your video about your garden. It make me happy seeing your pretty flower that i cannot normally see here in the Philippines❤❤❤.
I watched Dig, Plant, Water, Repeat this morning. Janey showed the video of your garden today!!!! 😊😊😁😁😁❤❤❤ yeah!!!!! Yaaaay!! I think your channel is going to explode! 😊
I was having a very bad day but your videos with beautiful flowers, colours, varieties, your advices and your dances really helped a lot. Thank you! One plant that I would suggest is Helichrysum italicum, during the summer the smell reminds me of the Mediterranean and looks/smells very good as a dried flower ❤
Estou no Brasil.Aquí é muito difícil ter acesso a sementes e mudas de flores que vocês têm aí nos EUA com facilidade. Mas os poucos estou conseguindo um jardim dos sonhos...você me inspira a não desistir. Obrigada!
Crane, you make me Happy.🎉 You are my top favorite gardener. I needed this video today. You also make my mind go bonkers with your beautiful, colorful arrangements and the variety in your collection. Thanks again for including the names of your plants. I'm keeping a list of the flowers and plants I must have in my garden. ❤
You and Jason inspire me with your kindness for each other and the beautiful garden you have built. You have such a great artistic ability with your bouquets. Thank you for sharing all of it with us. 🩷
Crane, you are truly an inspiration. I am learning little tips and tricks from each video you post. Following your lead, I sowed and planted Marigold 'Coco Gold'...and they are fantastic!! Also 'White Swan'. Too many other takeaways to list here. Take a little break, recharge, we will be here when you are ready. Thank you Danielle from Northlawn Flower Farm for introducing you to us!
Your gardens and commentary, are, as always, beautiful. I struggle to keep up right now and it’s such a lovely breather and inspiration to see your work. Keep putting one foot (and flower) in front of the other! You lift us up.
Hai Crane, aku suka ceritamu di Bangkok dgn tantemu ,dari situ dihatimu tumbuh benih cinta akan bunga n talenta merangkai bungan kenangan itu tak terlupa sampe kapanpun ,sukses besar buat karyamu yg jempolan ,sehat selalu Crane..tx .
I was watching your video on my lunch break after a stressful morning and so enjoyed your silliness and beautiful garden and just you being you ❤😂 hope you are feeling better because you sure made my day better❤❤❤!!! 🙏🏻
I learn from you every time I listen to you. I also had problems with slugs and earwigs and my seedlings. I put trapps of containers with bear and drowned them .
I have just awoken and I am sitting on my porch with my coffee. My back is absolutely killing me from all the gardening, and then... I see you posted a video!! 🎉😊 🥳 I'm 1:10 minutes in and I NEED to know what that amazing bush is?!?! It looks like a giant prehistoric flowering tree. Please do a garden tour and mention that Bush ❤ I need that in my life. Love youuuuu both loads ❤
Thank you for sharing your trials and tribulations with us! I live in zone 9b so haven't grown zinnias here, but I think I will give it a try next spring. 🌺🌺🌺
I love watching you videos. Someday it all I need to watch and definitely put a smile on my face. DON’T stop doing what you love. ❤️ You’re very good at this. Keep shining 😊
Hello Crane. Missed seeing you. I grow the double Rubeckia Gloriosa. I got the seeds from Johnnys even though I am in Canada. They come back every year in my Zone 7. They are so beautiful. Everyone gets burnout and wonders WHY. I have been gardening for 30 years and I can tell you that you are the most talented bouquet maker I have EVER SEEN. Your colour and eye and design are one of a kind. If I lived by you I would buy from you weekly. You are my inspiration and possibly in the next couple of years I would like to sell some bouquets. I would love to see you do up a list of must have perennial flowers to grow to compliment your main focal flowers. Possible next year starting with spring. Hugs to you❤
Sometimes we need a nice break, like taking a vacation? When was the last time you took a vacation? I love your videos & the bouquet was so beautiful! I'm glad you had just enough steam to finish it! Love from Colorado.
I live in Brush Prairie, Washington, and I’m having issues with my Zinnias and sunflowers. 😢 We have a bunny situation. They are so so sooooo cute but they keep eating my flowers - love/hate relationship with them now. 😅 Also, I noticed we have lots of Japanese beetles that come out at night. I didn’t know what they were until I saw a post on them eating someone’s dahlias. 😅 I bought Marigolds earlier this year and they seem to be doing well here - I need to plant more of them!!! ❤️😁 Also, make sure to get the rest that you need - you truly deserve it, Crane!! ❤🤗 Don’t worry about having to keep up/trying to keep up… We love you and we will all be here for you - cheering you on, no matter what!! ❤🙏🏼 Sending you and Jason lots of good - lots of positive energy!! ❤️🤗
your work is absolutely beautiful and i eagerly wait to watch your latest uploads but if you need a break, i believe your subscribers would understand completely 💝 i often read the comments here and see you've got so many people who truly adore the person you are and the whole world you make with and through flowers and more flowers with your personal stories woven through, making your bouquets lovelier yet 😭😍please rest if need be and look after and love yourself first so you can keep doing what you enjoy the most; follow your bliss and continue to spark joy and inspiration in your supporters
A magical garden and so happy to visit! After seeing you on Janey's Zone 7 gardens I had to subscribe and follow along with your beautiful garden! Your energy is wonderful, your garden inspiring. Also happy you give us names of plants as you go along, thank you!

Also, I noticed we have lots of Japanese beetles that come out at night. I didn’t know what they were until I saw a post on them eating someone’s dahlias. 😅
I bought Marigolds earlier this year and they seem to be doing well here - I need to plant more of them!!! ❤️😁
Also, make sure to get the rest that you need - you truly deserve it, Crane!! ❤🤗 Don’t worry about having to keep up/trying to keep up… We love you and we will all be here for you - cheering you on, no matter what!! ❤🙏🏼
Sending you and Jason lots of good - lots of positive energy!! ❤️🤗
