There was a guy here on the UA-cams that made a turntable weld positioner, it was a plate on the top welded to a shaft that went vertically through The table top and he used I believe flange bearings to support the shaft and had a large diameter wheel on the bottom just above floor level and used his feet to turn it. Just thought that a gizmo like that would have saved you some time. Welcome back.
Great repair and for sure will last machines lifespan if bearing doesnt go out. keyboard welders dont understand the fact that it doesnt need to look new and can still be stronger than original. Greetings from Finland! 🫡
You don't see many mechanics going above and beyond to repair stuff nowadays just (go buy new stuff) they say. I like the old school way and I was told you couldn't weld cast iron. You would do well in the hydraulic field on the East Coast 👍 nobody wants to work on old shit nowadays. It needs a new seal buy a new motor 😞
I was at a garage sale guy had a bunch if rod some new never opened 2 boxes of nirod 55 and a new box of 99.. 10 pound boxes new and some 71m duel shield and hardfacing rods bought it all for 50.00 bucks...I went to look at a tractor implement that i was curious about it was a 6ft flail mower got it for 100.00
When machined you will have another success story. Looking forward to seeing the machined piece. Thanks for the videos.

@@Davefromwisconsin I've seen that. I'll make one some day👍
What you described is what potters used to make pottery before powered wheels .

@@SepticWhelk it worked until it didn't🤣🤣
What would be the difference in using something like Belzona versus nickel rod for this kind of repair?
Loved the video by the way. You don't see videos like this.
@methodic- i was going to use aluminum bronze. Basically I have experience with this material. That's why u chose it
