    My 454 gets 7 mpg, leaks oil, goes through starters and isn’t the most dependable but I love it. Now I’m trying to decide, sniper2 efi or LS? LS is so much more dependable and the mpg is great.

    The LS is a victim of its own popularity.
    There are SO many out there, that it has become a boring 'been there done that' engine.
    Zzzzzz
    If you are building a high dollar Pontiac, Buick, Oldsmobile, Foxbody, old school Cadillac... why save a little money by going with an LS Swap?

      LS is only great because the aftermarket. If the aftermarket didn't support it. Then it would have died out

    • @scottparker3342
      @scottparker3342 11 місяців тому

      Why do you think the aftermarket supports it? There’s plenty of parts for Pontiac engines but I can’t remember the last time I saw someone swap one into anything other than a Pontiac. And IMO that’s also a pretty great platform (albeit not modern/efficient).

    • @heith85
      @heith85 11 місяців тому +3

      @@scottparker3342 the aftermarket supports it because it's easy to make parts for and it's physical size makes it easy to swap. Nothing wrong with it but it's definitely not any pinical of engineering perfection.

    • @scottparker3342
      @scottparker3342 11 місяців тому

      @@heith85 easy to make parts for? Or because there is a demand for the parts and they can sell a lot of them? How would you define engineering perfection? There is just as much skill to engineering something with constraints like packaging, durability and cost as there is a blank canvas/check book for a mountain motor or something that goes into an exotic.
