Geez, Joe communicates his process with absorbing ease and clarity. Outstanding discussion.
He's great!
The way Joe describes his next book, in terms of not quite alt history reminds me of how DJ Butler describes his witchy war and serpents daughter books. A fun house mirror version of history.
These two episodes were fantastic, guys. Bravo. Joe is such a font of knowledge and insight into the process. Being able to vicariously pick his brain through you guys was a treat
I love the way Joe left the question about Ninefingers open. I also find myself wanting to put characters into definitive Alive/Dead boxes even though I think its better to be ambiguous.
Congrats on 1,000 subs!
It's funny how Abercrombie has this tongue-and-cheek persona of a clever, self-aggrandizing joker - but then in enjoying his own work and complimenting some of his own scenes and characters he becomes more honest and engaging than the majority of authors. I want to see my favourite authors recognize their work as great! As a viewer I want to see them acknowledge content that works the same as I have when I read and enjoyed their stories. It's not prideful. It's refreshing and healthy. There's somehow a greater honesty in the self-aggrandizing playfulness than in the serious answer.
Also: so glad he said The Heroes. BST and Red Country were great books, but The Heroes will always have my heart.
Absolutely. He's spent decades becoming an incredible writer - he's more than earned the right to compliment his own stories
Another great episode! Some awesome tips in there! Can't wait for joe's next books!
Me neither :)
Thanks for the valuable content every week and congrats on 1k subscribers!
Thank you! Feels like a cool milestone :)
@@Jed_Herne Doubled already in three weeks?
This is my favorite interview I've seen with Joe. I think some of his humour is missed by other American UA-camrs that Jed and crew seems to understand here(This coming from an American). On the other hand, Dyrk's favorite scenes of Logan were spot on how I felt reading those as well. Thanks fellas, great stuff!
Incredibly interesting to hear his revision process. I was thinking of doig something like that for my book - now I def will be! Thanks for the questions Jed! Can't wait to see a pic of the report card you send him! :-D
Loved both of these interviews :)
Thanks! Me too
The Heroes is still my favorite in the whole series, which is ironic, as my favorite character is missing from it.
I'm with Fletcher on this about retroactively labeling things.
The Heroes FTW!
