  • Hollywood actor Burt Reynolds has told BBC HARDtalk about the racism he found in Hollywood against Native Americans and how he has demanded scripts be changed to remove offensive language. Mr Reynolds, whose father was half Cherokee, said: "I was the first one to speak up to the director and the producer and say - you have to change these things because it's not right the way we're talking about them." Asked about racism in Hollywood he said: "I get quite angry about it".

Cherekee Indian (which is why you often see him and he's very tan...his skin took to the sun very easily due to his heritage).

25% Cherokee, get it right! To say he's Native means fully Native

@@johngallagher773 Burt never identified himself as fully Native. But he was very proud of his Cherokee heritage, as he should be!

@@coldwinter5710 and your point is?! Your reply to me is totally irrelevant to anything I said. Nobody said he shouldn't be proud..of course he should!..and nobody said he identified as fully Native either! In the comment I replied to it says “I had no idea Burt was Native American" that is a wrong statement, that should be part Native American!

How about showing the entire interview? He said much more than this, why just focus on those 3 minutes?

Basically, what BM may have meant is that by not having shared in their struggles to the same degree, he could not bring himself to call himself a N.A. actor...but he nonetheless did as much as he could to help out.

mouth smacking of opiod use - which i understand based on the many bones he broke while performing his own stunts - but you can see how it has aged this great man. Maximum salute should be paid. to Mr Reynolds
