Some of his early movies were alright, though they were always race-related, but with the time this race-obsessing thing becomes annoying. Even Stanley Kramer ( a cult filmmaker from 1950s-1960s who dealt with racial problems in the America of those days made many exceptions like Mad Mad World, High Noon, Caine Mutiny). I cannot think of any Lee's films not obsessed with race where he always depicts whites as hardened and incorrigible racists. He really should direct neutral movies for a change. The same thing with NPR. I ceased listening to this station because since somewhat 2015 almost 50 percent of their programs are race-related and white are always to blame.
That’s because the other directors you mentioned were in the majority class (meaning white people, of course). They were not, themselves, the victims of racism. I don’t believe the film “Inside Man” has much, if anything, to do with racism. It’s been awhile since I have seen it. There are probably others but I have not seen all of his films. The reason why white people are spoken about is because you are the majority culture in the USA and, as such, control the system. If discussing the matter makes you that uncomfortable, then perhaps it would be more constructive for you to try to change the way things are, rather than simply sticking your head in the sand, pretending that these types of prejudice don’t exist.
@@MsAppassionata we’re not the majority, nor have we been for about ten years, black culture rules America, it’s part of the reason we’re crumbling lmao
"Injecting humor in this very serious subject matter" sounds like he was trying what Tarantino did with Django. Which Spike of course had a problem with it back in 2012. This dude's older movies are decent but he lost his touch. He couldnt carry Tarantinos clipboard.
I didn't know Spike Lee was black.
he and Jordan peele makes great films

And a 2k basketball game in which you couldn't be any other race.

@@MsAppassionata are you off your rocker? Have you not seen the music industry? Have you not watched commercials lately?
@@tbirdddd5818 Exactly what is your point? What is it about commercials and the music industry that negates anything I said?

Very smart man.. Love him or hate him
Josue166 Not really, he’s a fucking idiot & a racist asshole.
I've never caught Spike being terribly smart.
Why? He’s an openly bigoted. I don’t see how you could like him.
@@sgtgiggles In what way is he bigoted?
He is indeed very smart and he utilizes that intelligence effectively to manipulate impressionable, young black minds...insidious, really...
spike is truthful in racist americans. after all America is like the Olympic Games
