I feel like this really gets at how Nonsense the stance of Aging is Suffering is.
Like, the characters' ages are used for comedic and thematic effect. "3 and 8 are laughable ages to have struggles next to a 40 year old with a mortgage!" But the complete lack of a resolution for the 3 year old Shady and the complete disillusionment of someone as comically young as 8 becomes a critique.
Shady's sobbing inconsolably, we don't even get to learn why. All we get is "Wow Shady your life is so great because you're 3," even though she's in abject misery. It seems to be saying "No, actually, your life isn't better at 3, you have no coping skills. No, your life isn't better at 8, so far, 3rd grade is the worst thing that's ever happened to you." It's not right to invalidate these early struggles as nothing because there's something worse down the line. A baby's first injury is the worst pain they ever felt! An adult has the knowledge and experience to cope with an injury. It applies to everything, the first unfair situation, the first frustration, the first obstacle.
I really like the "I'm a pony!" line. The repetition is hilarious and it's also really effective in showing the complete lack of empathy. Like if a parent lectured their crying baby about how horrible taxes are, they'd be a freaking Jerk! And here the focus is all Me Me Me My Problems Me Me Me and Shady is completely unconsoled and understood none of it.
I thought it was really funny and got across a critique in an extremely satisfying way. Giving this unempathetic adult mindset to an 8 year old infantilizes it, just as the actual mindset unfairly treats still-growing children as adults who should know that adult pain is Worse than their pain.

I’m unfamiliar w Aging is Suffering, but I 100% agree w your take on this and that that’s honestly the way a lot of people seem to treat the struggles of their children, esp in past generations but I still see it a lot today even in fairly “progressive” areas.
They often have this “you’ll matter when you’re grown” mindset that I find v destructive all around - to their relationship w their kid, to their child him-herself and their child’s mental health, and ultimately it isn’t bringing them (the adult) any joy and they are missing out on a lot too.
No one matters less when everyone matters. All ships and all happiness is raised when we raise our children’s importance up within the family.
My taxes AND sons scraped knee AND that someone pulled daughter’s braids at school and stopped being her friend can ALL be the worst things ever … and yes weirdly we can all live the worst things to ever happen to each of us again tomorrow too.
Or we can just commiserate together and laugh about the world we live in.
The Sneetches can be a dark story warning about capitalism and jealousy or a lovely story about learning to not judge ourselves or others by what’s on the outside bc underneath we’re basically the same and want the same things.
Many things can be true at the same time.

But I also like how despite being disillusioned, apathetic and cynical, the human here is fortunately not fully portrayed as actually being legitimate. Im glad that there is inserted doubt in the human really being a voice of reason. That's what keeps stuff like this Truly smart and funny imo. The sneech part of this video and the fact that she's only 8 are examples of what I mean.
Messages, agendas, social causes, or political leans through media always come off terribly and they should at least never be so obvious. We naturally resist that for a reason I bet.
Edit: Imo, the French video was their best one because it was all just non-influential irreverent humor. Ironically, despite it technically being about a country and a system of government, it was just silly jokes and had none of that condescending talking down about what some guy thinks is right and wrong that you see so much in tv today (often by a cynical and curse/diatribe-prone "intellectual" character). Imo, they should make more stuff like that french video. Reminds me of old SpongeBob when I was a kid.

Even though he had the emotional maturity of a 13-year-old, he thought he had everything all figured out and tried to "talk me out of" my silly clinical depression by sending me that Baz Luhrmann song (you know, the one with lyrics from the essay "Wear Sunscreen"). Perfectly captured the "useless pep talk that is just projected misery". This pairs well with your more recent video where Shady is just doomsdaying over everything, and eventually everyone gets tired of it and blows up at her and confirms that everything bad she is perceiving IS her fault like she was worried about, and is content to wallow in her misery. We all know a Shady, and are both sick of her and take pity on her.
