A Martin J-40 is always something very special, as it combines all the advantages of a good Martin with the sound of a jumbo guitar. It has to be said that this shape is not as bulky and wide as that of a Gibson J-200. It is more likely to be seen as a small jumbo and offers good playing comfort thanks to the narrow waist. The instrument shown here dates from 2008 and was well cared for by the first owner. There are only slight superficial traces of playwear on the guitar. Only the bridge was re-glued. This work was done professionally by our in-house luthier and is barely visible. The result is perfect vibration transmission!
A complete setup including new strings was also made. The frets show no signs of wear. This Martin J-40 sounds voluminous and at the same time resolves clearly. Thanks to its age, it has a good portion of warmth and an easy response. It is ideal for both fingerpicking and strumming! The original case, as well as the guarantee card, hang tags and case key are included!

One of Martin’s least popular guitars and fairly new model considering their history. The J-40 is a hidden gem that will eventually be highly coveted. Just listen to it, the notes jump out of it.
