When using alfoil always have the shiny side facing the food otherwise if it is facing away from the food it is deflecting the heat away. Something I learnt a long time ago
I've been contemplating getting a travel buddy as part of my new set up for my ute and after watching some of your cooking tips its a definite. Really like the bacon egg pies you pre made for your road trip. If your ever in Tassie (Im on Bruny Island) Look us up be good to share a bevy around a fire.
There not bad these ovens but I do find cooking times are huge,it's all well and good to pre heat, but that's 10 amps or so gone...all depending on how ones oven is setup, mines solar only so need to pick my days,it cooks sum nice wings ,roasts etc..cheers for the vid mate...looks tasty..
Throw that in a camp oven few shovels hot ♨ coals your ready 1 hour Best ones r bit this & that meat vegies jam honey sauces what ever 1 hour ready A few buttered rolls 👍📸🌄🥃cheers
Any idea on the power consumption over the time it took to cook as well as all your other appliances on? I know you have a lithium battery but do you also have a way to use shore power when 240v is available (like the Redarc Manager has)?
Peter Ryan Travel Buddy uses 10 amps per hour so 20 amps drawn from battery for a 2 hour cook. I have an Enerdrive system with a 40 amp DC-DC charger so a half hour drive and the Lithium battery is fully charged again.
Yeah possibly with the higher voltage. Not as noticeable on my setup though, as the lithium sits at 13.5v resting and doesn't really show any voltage drop from the travel buddy load.
THANK YOU FOR SHARE DETAIL IDEA IN VIDEO AS GREAT WATCHING

pasta, chorizo and cheese....can't go wrong.
Awesome, i would substitute the milk with thickened cream for the win, that would then be like making a Boscaiola sauce
Too easy. Just as lifeshould be on the road. Cheers.

When I do pasta bake, I pre cook the pasta in boiling water first, makes it much quicker to cook.

Do you think it would’ve cooked quicker if you were driving?

Hey cam is that a stainless steel tray? Thank you
Would cook wayyyy quicker if you precook the pasta.
