Absolutely Lydia!🙌😊 You are a "bundle" of interests and hobbies. I wouldn't (and possibly most of the people here) be here if you were only showing your handbags and designer clothes. For me, the beauty of your channel is in the variety of your interest and that includes gardening, your make up routine, you talking about your struggles with monthly cycle (yes! I can relate!), cooking healthy meals and recommending good books. Never try to fit in. You are doing great and definitely having a huge crowd of followers who are here twice a week to watch your vlogs.😊

Saying this with love. May no one feel any less beautiful because they are not getting these treatments and procedures. If your nose has a bump you are still beautiful. TV and a world obsessed with aesthetics can really lower someone's self esteem by making you feel less when all those things are just superficial. To me true beauty lies in a person's heart and character. The rest is just a tent you inhabit. Which when you age will also age and get wrinkled and bumpy. I had a non-surgical nose job (not by this doctor) and mine dissolved in 3 months. Was in pain the whole time, headaches, nose hurt, and very lethargic. I'm envious yours has been great for so many years- I guess people's bodies are different!

Totally agree Lydia, defining ourselves can be unhelpful sometimes but also sometimes it’s nice to find your people…. I’m a luxury lawyer, a yoga teacher, a home herbalist, a forager, a dog mama, a fashion lover, a gardener etc etc etc 😂 it’s good to have all of these interests and passions and facets to who we are…. I find that I have friends who bring out different parts of my nature they all live my entirety but we might just connect more strongly on certain parts of ourselves and that’s amazing ❤❤❤

I love your videos. They inspire me. I was always trying to fit in and never felt like I did. But not I’m at the point where I’m comfortable being me. Not that I don’t find myself slipping in to old patterns. I slap myself in to reality.

Welcome to the world of sickness free time of the month. We have definitely been trained to think the time of the month systems are normal. But those symptoms are not. This time should not disrupt your life. I myself have gone through my own journey to balance my hormones in a holistic way 3 years ago. It’s amazing how our body’s adapt quickly when you nourish it. It’s a process but gets better and better. I can honestly say that being in tune with my body and nourishing it, has changed everything about that time of the month for me. I no longer dread it 🎉

Hi Lydia, still watching, and had to pause to comment about fitting in. You are right, you don't have to fit in. I believe its about CONNECTION. When you connect nothing else really matters. The 'fitting in' is what keeps us separated, and we miss out on wonderful people and opportunities.
Unfortunately, Everybody is not for Every Body. So find the Right Somebody that can Embody You!
I think people who find themselves in the position you're in (I'm similar with my love of fashion, nature, and books too!) means that you are well and truly being yourself! So cheers to that!!

Lydia, I work very hard helping my husband managing his medical practice, I love making my home cozy, I love tending to my pool and patio and planting flowers, I love being a mom to adult boys and their wives, but I also love a nice bag. I love making myself look and be the best I can. So I love your content. As women we can be many different things. Why limit ourselves to one small niche?
The 'not fitting in' thing is very relatable. Turns out I am just ADHD. I think its a common feeling to not fit in. Im a very late diagnosis, and it's been a relief actually to understand what I use to think was not fitting in or having uncommon hobbies or ways of communicating were very much classic ADHD. Of course, it took a bit of time to come to terms with it because there's some stigma around it, but I feel very at peace with it now. I actually embrace it now and don't get hard on myself when there's a bit of struggle to fit into an environment anymore.

such an interesting conversation, It's my view in my life that we can relate to and enjoy lots of different friendships and love the individuals for who they are. They aren't a carbon copy of us but we have things in common and like their company. They also may not like or get on with each other but its fine to have a few circles of friends, this gives us a full spectrum of fun where we enjoy and learn from each other. The biggest thing I believe is that it should never be hard work and good people in your life should be the same if you see them a little or a lot. The major struggle I have is to make sure I am a good friend when needed, its sometimes a struggle with our busy lives?

I am totally with you with many of your topics on this vlog. I went thru the same and would say endometriosis was one of the hardest things on me, even tho I was never diagnosed. Ever since my "change" as they used to call it happened at age 13, I had horendous periods. And I never knew there was a actual medical condition for it. I only learned about that as a much older adult and even that it could affect having to make decisions regarding having children. Its not something that has ever been taught or discussed I guess so I feel that us women kinda have to learn about from our friends etc. I suffered thru so much period pain and heavy periods and just stuck it out. I also when in my 20s got engaged and when we were trying to have kids and couldnt I of course blamed myself. That relationship ended but it wasnt solely coz of that. I always thought, I couldnt have kids. And was told so. But several years later when I was 30 I gave birth to my daughter. Its the old story isnt it, everything is scary until it happens, ya just dont know..until it happens. Just let life happen coz its got you this far hey. I guess I'm trying to say "Breathe, guide yourself, and: You know where you're going now and you and Ali will be alright on your path".
I first discovered Ayad through your channel. 7 years later and 3 non surgical rhinoplasty procedures later, I will always be so thankful to you for introducing him to us all. I no longer have any insecurities about my nose, and as someone who would be way too nervous to get actual surgery, this has totally changed my life. So thank you 🙏🏽
I loved your brain dump about interests and fitting in and I'm at that point right now where I've spent half my time in the north of England and London, and I feel so split between both worlds. I love the freedom of my life in the countryside and I'm finding it more and more difficult to strictly be in the "things to do in London." I feel people, companies, etc, don't quite know where to place me because I'm everywhere and I do everything. I don't know. I'll find my way though, I feel it.

100%! I've never wanted to "fit" in. I'm me and if you can't accept who I am then you are not necessary for my growth. I'll never lose who I am to please others, and I've dealt with some real mean girl cliques here in the US and believe me I broke them before they could break me or anyone else.

Lydia, I think that most people including myself have a diverse life. No one is one dimensional. That said, blogging and social media wants you to niche down to one thing, you are a lifestyle blogger and that encompasses gardening, home, fashion, food, etc, all elements of your life. Stay true to you and let the people who want to be focused on their niche do that.

I love the quote: "getting back to the soil". I think when it comes to nature we should not forget the brutality of it too. I know you wrote your book on the wonder and beauty but i dont think we appreciate that context without the brutality of nature too. I bring it up because I think there is maybe more to explore here. Humans, insects, animals we can be kind and soft, we can be determined and we can be deadly. For some it has to be instinct and survival and for others, i think mainly mammals, it can be a choice. The spiders in your green house that you are scared of....what's their function there, what are the compelled to do by nature, what are they keeping safe to do or keeping safe from.

I felt this one. I like nice things in my life, I have a few nice bags I purchased secind hand and use in special occasions (my dream is a blush pink mini lady dior, i never see it happening though 😅) however I am not afraid to get my hands dirty. I recently changed the oil in my car, I like to sand and paint old furniture ect I am also drawn to tarot, and I have purchased a few decks and enjoying the journey. I enjoyed this, thank you 😊

It took many years of thinking deeply and coming to an acceptance of self. What also was an eye opener for me was understanding MBTI and finding my type as INFJ which then all jigsaw pieces fell into place with how I related to people. Many say it’s not evidence based but nevertheless it helped me to understand myself a lot more.
