Amazing episode! The street lights float like fireflies, and I love that she includes Stieglitz.

I love how you guys have the ability to find the words to describe something, like “the quality neon has to cut through the dark”

Excellent! Art History happiness, walking into the modern art story. Thanks for the research work on this episode! I’m an O’Keeffe-a-holic anyway. Color saturation, blending, hard and soft edges, composition choices, editing and commentary blow my mind.

Was not aware of her New York series. What a beautiful time capsule. Perfect size for a smartphone screen too (:

Crystal Bridges (and their great Spanish translations)! ❤
It's not often that a piece is described as a Dr. Zucker favorite, so I was at (increased) immediate attention and max curiosity.
It's really nice to look at... The lights in the background were surprisingly nostalgic because they remind me of my family's home near Miami. There's a Hard Rock Hotel nearby and I used to see them sweeping the night's sky...
    Bonus for being a 1927 piece, too. 🥳 Can't believe I'm 11 days away from being... 19. 😂💀
Good Lord, the radiator building is gorgeous! Love the black and gold.
What did the architectural record have against the letter U? lol.

The emblazoned 'Stieglitz' sign brings to mind the self consciously playful and reflexive cameos of Alfred Hitchcock, which began in 1927 with the London premiere of 'Lodger' (the New York premiere was June 1928).

1927: The economy is going great and we've had a war to end all wars. Nothing but smooth roads ahead.

Artists regularly draw from the history of art. Hollywood movies, comics, animation all draw inspiration from the long history of art.
