He developed this hunger for draining life until he literally couldn't survive without it. But at the same time it slowly killed him with each life he took, the force slowly ate at him right back until he was just a cloak and a mask with no actual living body underneath. Just dark side energy. He only cared about his hunger for life, and cared little, if at all for any sith teachings.

I am not entirely sure but I think in the book it is stated that on his journey to find the sith empire after the mandalorian war he found the sith emperor on dromund kaas. After trying to face him the sith emperor simply dominated their minds through the force, making them attack the republic as a test of the republics strength. The mind control didn't work as expected, making revan think that it was his plan, not the emperors command. Might be wrong on the details tho

Then he came back to the Light Side, attempted to help Rey fight her grandfather, and then brought Rey back to life, they kissed for like 10 seconds, then he died. Han was likely never around, Leia and Luke thought he was too much like Vader, and all of Luke's other apprentices thought he was weird and didn't believe he was able to beat Luke. To be fare Palpatines family played a role in his fall kind of his own father hated him was very controlling. Palpatine was ambitious but was held back and Plagueis knew this.
Revan was definitely not "broken". Even as a Sith they had a plan to attempt to save the galaxy from an outside threat. It's explained in KOTOR II that Revan specifically avoided destroying worlds with high economic potential. Revan was a scalpel, knowing that one of the only ways he could save the republic was to take it over and direct all their efforts into war production against the threat.
In one of the books. I can’t remember which one exactly. How it all started was that he got rejected from a woman he loved. Destroyed everything and everyone to get what he wanted and continued down that path. He was influenced from that broken heart. He joined the darkside because he saw darkness in everyone.

I think it’s interesting in movies/shows/cartoons/comics. They always depict these outrageously powerful characters but somehow they die/lose.

What i love in Star Wars its how it works the Light Side and the Dark Side, many Jedi turned into Siths and many turned into Siths, like Count Dooku, he went to the Dark Side because he never acomplished his goal on the Light Side so he turned into the Dark Side but never became an actual Sith.
Meanwhile, Anakin Skywalker lost many important people to him while serving the Light Side and Darth Sidious notices that, so he uses his fails to convince he was too weak and he would never save the people he loves if he remains in the Light Side, then Anakin surrender himself to the Dark Side because he lost all his faith on the Jedi
