I watched this movie with my mother and when Aaron was taken by the machines and Linda says “my sweet baby” my mom literally went “don’t you piss off momma!” And then cackled when Linda tore the machines apart. And then proceeded to yell “YES!” When one of the machines said “the lavender one has found us”

I also like how they don't redeem the villain, or make her sympathetic.
Steven Universe's ending was ruined by having these megalomaniacal genocidal tyrants be redeemed because "They're overworked, and they're *sorry* about it."
In this case, the villain has an understandable motive, but refuses to change. She was given a very clear chance to stop what she's doing, and someone gave her exactly what she wanted ("a single reason why humanity should be spared"), and she completely ignored it and continued her plan anyway.

    And at the end:
Rick - "Alright, give it a shot. But if it fails, I'm still here."

You'd be spending more money for tuition and boarding than you'll make in 10 years as a graphic designer/animator.
Unless your parents earn six figures a year (which they probably don't because her Mom's a first grade teacher and her dad's a...carpenter?) then the best you can hope for is living out of a car and eating noodles out of a cup for breakfast.

This is one of the few movies with real world tech references that doesn't feel like it was made by some old guys in a meeting room.

The Mitchell’s is literally my family. My brother would totally be looking through the phone book, calling random people, and asking if they like dinosaurs. And I am into film and production and want to go to film school. Oh, and my mom would totally only protect her ‘baby boy’ by defending him against robots.
