You would think even a former player would know what he’s talking about. Dallas’s offense hasn’t been great in either series. Their defense is what’s gotten them this far. They held the clippers & Okc 2 of the higher scoring teams in the league under 100 multiple times.

There's an extra factor that i think we forget or overlook - the coaching. J Kidd is very cunning he can make adjustments that win the game as former star guard he can read the game well. Mavs have not lost back to back this playoffs. These teams seem just about even though in different ways, thats when these other variables come into play.
One thing this playoffs has confirmed for me is that most analysts have not idea what they're talking about. SAS is a hack; might as well ask my three-year-old who his pick is.

McDaniel doesn’t guard Luka “better than anyone in the NBA” lmao not even close, he’s an elite defender but too skinny for Luka. Also “Mavs don’t play defense” is hilariously wrong. Mavs have been the best defense in the NBA since they got healthy after the trade deadline and that’s poured over into the playoffs. Mavs are the 2nd best defense left. Even over Boston due to being a better rebounding and rim protection team. Austin has no clue what he’s talking about. I don’t say this to say the Mavs will cook the wolves by any means, but I’m saying the Mavs definitely have a chance. I personally have the Mavs in 6, but I’m a biased Mavs fan. Wolves are great and wouldn’t surprise me one bit if they won and they probably deserve to be the favorites after beating Denver the way they did, but put some respect on Dallas. We’re not some fluke team who lucked into the WCF. I think whoever wins this wins the finals depending on how KP comes back for Boston. Either way we’re in for a phenomenal series. Kyrie had the second best plus-minus in the OKC series, behind only Lively but Kyrie plays double Lively’s minutes. Kyrie may not have scored as much but the team wins and loses with him.

I’m pretty sure Austin rivers hasn’t watched a single mavs game. Dallas has the 2nd best defense of the playoffs and they have the best player in the series.
In addition to that, Luka has the 6th best defensive rating in the playoffs yet the echo chamber continues with the same gaslighting that he doesn’t play D. I thought this might change after the OKC series but the LDS is just too strong for most of these haters.

Austin sounds silly. The mavs had the best defense over the last 2 months if the season. It wasn’t like they just turned it on, THEY CHANGED THEIR ROSTER. Luka was giving the wolves work by himself BEFORE the trade. The one game they both played, they beat the wolves and both Luka and Kai had 30+. The mavs didn’t have maxi then, and they don’t have maxi now, AND LUKA IS PLAYING ON ONE KNEE
