      I don’t think so. Camille is a role model for a lot young latinas. There is even a documentation about young latina girls and women in the US who are according to a statistic and seen trough the documentation, very depressed.
      Camille became a role model for a whole generation. The more she‘s known, the better for the latin community.

    • @tabithacastro805
      @tabithacastro805 Рік тому +12

      @@captainsafety88 I agree -- most especially as a Latina, myself but, I would want for her to continue being seen as a role model, because she is an intelligent, strong and ethical professional, NOT because this case has put her in a spotlight of "celebrity" that Hollywood is trying to appropriate and objectify. I like the fact that Camille is REAL and accomplished, beyond the spotlight of celebrity -- she's a heroine as MANY in our community, who have helped to create opportunity and foundations for the next generation of young women of Color!...

    • @tabithacastro805
      @tabithacastro805 Рік тому +1

      @@captainsafety88 True -- Johnny Depp is an example of kindness, chivalry & humanity, however, his "objectification" cannot be compared to that suffered by People of COLOR, most especially, if they happen to be women. And yes, ALL people are varying shades of brown or beige however, when you belong to a group that is often described as the "other" (Black, Latino, Asian, "Arabic", etc), most especially in the US, you don't have the "luxury" of being SEEN beyond the narrow confines of the stereotypes relegated to your cultural identity, by the dominant group (the ones in positions of power and authority).

    "I don't know how that happened, other than I was just doing my job." What a wonderful lady. Smart, sweet, lively and spunky. I find the inspiring thing about her is she believes in herself and went for it in this trial. Her eyes have this purity and strength, you don't see often. After the verdict when she mouthed the word "wow" to her colleagues, you could just see it wasn't real yet - she had stayed so long in the zone of just 'doing her job' - she didn't think about what it would feel like to actually win. Loved that. Those moments in the trial made the trial better than most TV. I'm so glad she was his attorney and came into the spotlight this way. Highly deserved.

    This is one classy lady. She's so beautiful inside and out. I have 2 daughters, slightly younger than she, that I'm so very proud of, I can only imagine how proud her parents must be of her.
    You, Camille, are definitely the newest role model for young girls everywhere regardless if they're Latino or not. My, soon to be 11 yr old, granddaughter has watched Camille grill Amber Turd countless times now and so far she hasn't grown tired of it. She said "Grandma, I want to be just like her when I grow up". I asked her "do you mean you want to be a lawyer?" She said "I'm not sure if I want to be a lawyer or not but I defiantly want to be able to put liars to the fire like that pretty lady did to Amber."
    From day 1 of learning about the trial and what it was about, she and her little brother (8) both said they didn't think Johnny Depp did bad stuff to Amber. When asked why they thought that, they both said coz that blond girl is a liar grandma, just look at her face when she talks, thats the face a liar makes. Out of the mouths of babes. I should add this was at the start of the trial, long before they even heard her on the stand. Kids can see through to the truth much better than most adults give them credit for. If we could just put kids on the jury our courts would move much faster. 😂

She is an excellent role model for ALL young girls. She’s successful, hard working, respectful, articulate, strong, intelligent, and a very good human being… shouldn’t we only focus on these things, and these things only.

      @@halcyon2017 No doubt that she can be a model for minority children, but why not to consider someone for what HE IS, and not for his skin color, sex, or country origin ? If not, that is racism, or 'racialism'. Personnaly, admittedly, I see a woman, but I am not so much interested by her origins or her story life..

      @@keplergso8369 A person's origin and background are what shape them. Should we just do away with genealogy and forget what was? Just forget the past (including the offenses committed against people of color, religion, gender)? Wave a magic wand and everything just IS?

    • @keplergso8369
      @keplergso8369 Рік тому

      @@halcyon2017 That's your point of view. Like I said, personnaly I consider people for what there are, not for their origins, there is no comparison with History, I am French, I know quite well the history of my country, the european culture, but the important thing is how people are integrated in the society. Talking nonstop about origins confine people according their origins, what is not important in itself, except, eventually, for the person. I don't care if the pilot of the plane that I took is a female, a black man, an Indian, a female German, the story of his or her family, that is eventually his or her problem but not mine. To my eyes, Camille Vasquez is north-american, that's all, I can just note that she's a female, and by the way I not really noticed her hispanic type but what importance ?
