An Israeli media report has blamed Qatar for the ongoing protests against Israel in US colleges. Qatar is the top source of foreign funding for US colleges and has donated more than $5 billion in the last few decades. Israeli analysts believe Qatar, a major supporter of Hamas, is spreading antisemitism on campus. Meanwhile, the focus of college protests has turned back to Columbia, where students occupied the iconic Hamilton Hall. The same building had been occupied by students during the anti-Vietnam war protests of the late 1960s. Is Qatari funding to blame for US college protests? Palki Sharma tells you.

All those students you see protesting weren’t supposed to be there in the first place. In the last 10 years or so, these universities have lowered the entry requirements because of DEI. In simple Indian terms, 95% marks were required to get admission in the Ivy League before, now you can get in with 50% marks & if you prove you have been members of some social activist organizations. A person studying medicine or engineering doesn’t have time for these BS. It’s a big lesson to the world on how not to degrade the quality of any institution.

It is highly likely something this well synchronized (tents, poster slogans, posters with thank you notes / videos from Gaza - esp when they have nothing even to eat or sleep) is co-ordinated and orchestrated. Obviously some of the co-ordination is visible by looking at the leaders and common threads/heritage (and understandably their higher sensitivity on the subject), but there seems to be a lot of non college elements which are deeply present in this. Tho top suspects I suppose will have to start with the handful of countries who are openly friendly with Hamas and support them. I am sure the right folks are looking into it.

Freedom of expression and right to peaceful protests is all protected under first amendment. Last time the world has experienced BLM protests around the US and the globe but somehow this students protest is treated differently in the US. I believe It's a right of students to voice their concern which should not be subdued with force legally. Dirty politics should not be mixed with students view of opinion. The world is changing and young generation is coming out from their comfort zone. Their opinions should be respected and heeded.
