They're finally here! Brand new handlebars for your Scott Bonnar 45 cylinder mower! And just in time for Christmas too ;)
Shane Kosteszyn from Moteck Machining and Cylinder Mowers has done it again and in today's video we take a look at his digitally-bent stainless steel handlebars.
The first thing worth pointing out is the fact these bars are manufactured using stainless steel--so they won't rust. The current iteration uses material polished to 600 grit and the next lot will be polished to 1000 grit. Do they look as good as chrome? Yes, they do.
17" and 14" models are currently available, with 20" models on the way.
As with all of his products, Shane hasn't just duplicated bars from a particular ere: he's considered the advantages of the various all the different bar designs and incorporated the bits that work best before adding his own touch. One example is the U-shaped bracket that connects the upper and lower halves, which comes from the Rover bars.
He's also planning an extended version for those of you who are taller. Depending on demand, he'll also be making bars with flattened handles and an optional fold-forward version if your horizontal shed space is limited.
The bars in the video are of the bent variety (which works well with newer engine designs) but Shane may also sell a straight bar in future.
These bars aren't cheap but they're quality all the way and you know they're going to last the distance (and not rust!). Plus they're made locally in Western Australia.
