The first Season of TTS is fine Alfa. Here and there clunky, but fine. It is good work what you and your friends are creating here, it not only entertains, it also helps. It brightens my day when i see something TTS related, it makes me happy and i bet my left testicle, im not only one. Let me tell you my opinion without scrutinizing you: Without giving you responsibilities, with what you did you helped interconnecting people in a hobby, and these friends still help you. In addition, you keep doing that today, on a different scale, with the W40k youtubers too. That is a community even if you think of it in a different way. I think that's the common thing between the boreale period and the TTS period, you keep growing the connections in the existing "communities", and that is a good thing. I think that if you ever finish TTS, whatever will come next will have the same feature inevitably.

Huh. Kinda nostalgic. I do remember miniwargaming videos in YT back when I was in high school. I also remember how ”Alfa Legion” just appeared, though I personally stated outside and observed... Macragge set was my first 40k experience as well, at model expo (where I painted my first ever mini, a skeleton warrior with spear). Then my 40k hobby kinda grew, and I was the one, in my friends circle, at whose home we played ”all in battle royale army clashes” with IG, Chaos, Space Marines (Blood Angels), and Necrons... but mostly our 40k gaming was via DoW Dark Crusade with secured gaming connections (”Hamachi” software). Good times, good times... ...nowadays we barely hear of each others, except my brother is in better contact with them, and tells how they are doing at times when we meet...
Alfa you silly silly man. You incredibly nice man. The Alfa Legion saved my life. I'll explain that, but I am going to ramble a bit first. You probably never heard of me, but I used to go by Warburna in the AL. We may have been in some Skype group at some point? But never talked, friend of a friend. I was close with Ares and the 12th, also active on the forums. One of the really big RP people there. Mmm there's a reason for that. That I gravitated to a forum, and I went deep on RP. Around the time you formed the Alfa Legion I fell terribly ill. I caught pneumonia, which was awful in of itself. But what was really bad was that while I was sick with that, I developed Postural Orthostatic Tachychandria Syndrome. Which is a chronic condition and unfortunately is growing more common thanks to the pandemic. Hopefully it means that more research is done and better treatment is found. Anyways, nasty stuff. At its worse I had debilitating headaches 24/7, I constantly felt intense nausea, and my stamina became terrible. I was only in the 7th grade. Rough stuff, right? It has a happy ending, now I only experience the headache. Still 24/7, but much lessened in pain. And most importantly my mental state has grown so strong that such little things no longer impact my personal happiness. I was flash forged in hell itself and came out stronger for it. But to get back to what happened at the time... I couldn't walk. I was constantly moaning in pain, I was ruining my teeth by chugging coca cola to relieve the nausea (my teeth are also fine right now), and my single mother was running herself ragged trying to help me. Absolutely saint she is btw. And I'm sad to say it, but in my experience the vast majority of doctors were completely useless. Not all of them, but most of them. It took years to find ones that could actually help. So for years and years and years and years and years, I had to just sit there. And take it. So that was me. That was my state. Obviously I had been pulled from school, pulled away from my friends, and just was miserable. And then I came across some funny little quirky videos called the borealecast. Back before my sickness ripped them away from me, my school friends and I big played minecraft. And they heard about terraria, so they walked me through making a steam account. At the time I watched totalbiscuit (Rest in Power) and saw his Space Marine video which had so much infectious joy in it. I also watched some dawn of war lets play. And that's what got your videos in my feed. So I joined the Alfa Legion, and back then you could still /me on steam. I think the first thing I saw in the chat was some RP, and I had never been exposed to that. I did something annoying because lmao I was like 13 or 12 or whatever. And that was a formative moment because I resolved to not be annoying. And I was, as I mentioned, a little sick at the time. But I was a smart kid, I pick up on things fast. So I binged 40k wikis super hard, I played the games, I lurked in the steam chat until I fit in just fine. And hey guess what. I couldn't see my IRL friends anymore, but I was making new ones as I started to participate in chat. And guess what, some of them are still around. Some of them I lost contact with, but there was this one guy who I talked about my pain with and he understood. He even thought it was cool when I larped as a night lord by screaming in voice while playing space marine I multiplayer. I think I only did it once because I very quickly realized "hey wait this is kinda cringe" but he was cool with it. Another thing that happened is that I was exposed to what is now my favorite video game series. I have a cumulative 2,256 hours, aka 94 days or about 3 months give or take. And most of that is in total war: warhammer 2, the first and currently only game I've crossed a thousand hours in. It's been a comfort over the years. But, the only reason I started playing them is Mako. You probably remember him. Mako was... so nice. He was the first person who completely unprompted commissioned an art piece of a character I thought up with him. That's rare. And he also gave me Medieval 2: Total War. He didn't really intend to just give it to me. What happened was he came into the AL steam chat, and he tried to set up a bloodmatch in Dawn of War for the prize. Now, I was a rather financially destitute kid at the time, and not very good at dawn of war. But it sounded fun, so whatever. Sure, why not I said. And someone else expressed interest. But when Mako mentioned the bloodmatch, well the other guy pussied out. Even though they probably would have won. So Mako, while being kind of put out about the whole affair since he didn't get his blood match, just gave it to me. And just for being brave enough to say "Yeah sure I'll give it a try" I got an incredible video game that distracted me from my pain. And uh now its time to come to the forums. The forums were a real... can of worms. I don't even feel like I can really properly summarize it. Too much happened, as you talked about in the Alfa Legion lore slowly got more serious. And a big part of that was the forums I think, specifically the forum RP. Which I heavily participated in, as I needed an escape. And at the time, I thought I was a bad writer. Which, as you may have surmised from the thunder-hammer of text I am bludgeoning your skull in with, I no longer think that about myself. The forums led to that. Now, there is something I must confess. You mentioned that growing elitism in the legion? I... kind of started to fall into that as well... Mainly in the RP characters thread. I got really good at making characters, I read tons of lore both out of genuine appreciation for it and to better my 'craft' so to speak. Its a skill I still have, and a very useful one. But part of that was that... I kind turned into an ass? To people that didn't meet my standards? And along with some other asses I'd critique characters that didn't meet my SUPER-HIGH-LORE-ACCURATE-STANDARDS. I'm a self aware person, so I think at some point I kinda picked up on it which is why I left the forums in the end I reckon. But yeah I used to be a person if something was not LOOOOOORE ACCUUUUUURRATTTEEEEEE I would be um upset. Which is a flawed way to look at it as 40k lore is inherently in its design meant to be poked and twisted and played with. Anyways, I'm not too guilty about it because I got some closure a year or 2 back. I came across someone who I used to really like, bust their balls over their characters. And life had moved on for them. They didn't hold it against me, as a matter of fact they thanked me as the process had taught them a lot about writing. I bring it up because I think its a good metaphor for the Alfa Legion. Because uh yeah maybe that was a little dicky and elitist of us. But I've been in toxic groups now. I got into GMod RP a while back. I have seen REALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLY toxic groups. The Alfa Legion was never that. Never. Maybe it wasn't perfect, but it was good. Warts and all. Before the pandemic, in 2020, a friend visited me. From Argentina. An Alfa Legion friend. And my friendship with them was so strong, that my mother paid for his flight. There are currently over 7000 members in the Alfa Legion group. The company steam groups were genius. Because separately from the incredibly broad, large core group you had these *intimate* smaller groups. The Alfa Legion was good dude. The 12th Company was familial. Alfabusa, I am going to share some wisdom with you. Even at my worst point, the most painful thing for me was not my sickness. It was the way the sickness caused my mind to function. At its worst my mind acted like Ouroborus, the snake eating itself. And I see in the way you talk about the Alfa Legion, your earlier videos, and other such things because I watch all your stuff that you have a little snake yourself. You should take pride in the Alfa Legion, you impacted a lot of people's lives for the better and you saved mine. And even if your old videos don't match your current standard, people liked them. i personaly discovered 40k first at 11 years old with DOW in 2005 because a friend of mine made a copy of the game for me on a dvd and i got hooked on the universe. i got into warhammer fantasy with Mark of Chaos in 2006 and i never left. Until now (now i am concidering leaving it all behind since "the End Times" and 8th edition lore braking events)

I only just got into your channel and I like your early TTS videos. No matter what you think about it, season 1 still has heart to it.
Oof the artist angst. As a horrid gremlin who has made things for people I prefer to simply not think about my past trash (memory wipes every DnD campaign from my players memory). Like yeh I’m not going to think this is good in 5 years. but I’m never going to fucking make anything if I am considering my inevitable future disappointment. so I simply overt my eyes from the specters of the past and hope their sins don’t drag me to artist hell

i personaly discovered 40k first at 11 years old with DOW in 2005 because a friend of mine made a copy of the game for me on a dvd and i got hooked on the universe. i got into warhammer fantasy with Mark of Chaos in 2006 and i never left. Until now (now i am concidering leaving it all behind since "the End Times" and 8th edition lore braking events)
It’s not a community it’s a battlefield. There are actually small communities but they are mostly competitive circles. Like how the American competitive circle don’t see anything but a hyper competitive edgeguarding counter meta list. They literally count Australia as an outlier for lists
