Reminds me of what a sequel to Can't Stop would look like.
The king of the mountain mechanism is a nice twist vs the locking up a column in can’t stop.
3:16 I get the complaint about the one...
It was hard for Neo to accept that part as well, but in the end, he knew it.
The Big Mountain expansion makes this game so much fun. The only thing is it comes in the box with Sequoia and GPS expansions too.
Have you played the little expansion? It offers a side board that you can instead pool your entire dice roll in an attempt to climb up one massive mountain.
We enjoy this game because the "non-gamers" can play with the "gamers" in the family. Nice light strategy and the goat meeples are so cute! We actually roll the extra 1s to keep it random. It seems like a huge "cheat" to just choose. (Easy house rule adaptation.)
4:10 What is meant by hello kitty band aid?
I love this game so much, I made custom clay goats and everyone has a great time bumping the king goat off the hill.
Love the Hello Kitty Bandaid metaphor
This replaced Can't Stop for us.
We love Mountain Goats in my family!
I enjoy this one. It's an ultra lightweight filler that is unassuming at first glance.
This is mostly a retheme of Level X. From memory, the only non-art differences I can see are that this one takes more table space and set-up and has introduced the changing-1s rule. Other than that, it's the same game (from the same author).
Put a star sticker on the 1s and say when you roll 2 or more it’s wild, if you roll only 1 star it’s only worth 1
I love lite games but this feels way to lite of a game. Surprised how we’ll it’s been received 👏🏽
The Mountain Goats are a fantastic band.
I don’t think the 1’s rule is too much of a hurdle. You can always add a 1 to beef up another number, but if you roll more than one, it means you don’t have a garbage turn.
Wow you guys finally got to reviewing this game. Didn’t it come out in like 2020? Is it because of the new sponsorship(?) deal with Allplay?
Anyways this is a fantastic filler. Been playing it since I got it from kickstarter, and just like Chris, I give it an 8. In fact I played it with my older sister and her kids and she loved it so much that I ordered another copy to give them. Allplay makes some gorgeous games with simple rules and fun gameplay (and some great bags), glad their getting that recognition lately.
I imagine that’s why. Although they apparently deleted a comment where someone mentioned that they didn’t disclose their sponsorship in this video so who knows.
I do actually quite like this game though - great filler that is easy to teach, although does probably take a bit longer to play than I’d like for this type of game. Sequoia I think is their better game from this line.
@@CamObscura88 yeah I also slightly prefer Sequoia
Nice co-host Tom
I am going to make it through this year, if it kills me.
I think *Keltis* is better - Luck there is based on cards not dice.
Artwork is ok - bearable - but I can’t help thinking a company like Oink Games would have done better with this.
I'm going to have to disagree here - a lot of Oink games have terrible art.
Man you don’t see DT put someone in their place often in the comment section but Ascend got it
