Yeah your style of deadlifting has saved me. Ive got a playlist of just you deadlifting. Pause 😅 I started out pretty good, got 150kg but made zero progress. I was only deadlifting once a week, and attempting hook grip. But the thing is i had no chalk and sweaty asf hands. Switched to mix grip and tried a similar style to yourself, especially the slight hip shoot/shin to bar, and pr the same session. Got 160kg with absolute ease last week Got 160kg x 3 this week Absolute lifesaver lad, your technique is OP Ill shoot for 180 within 1/2 months.
Let's go man! No PAUSE required. & that's amazing progress. I'd honestly learn hook grip as well if I were to continue pulling on a deadlift bar. The bar whip is soo much more difficult to control on the DL bar vs a stiff from the helicopter effect of mix. Depending on your bar, if you train on a stiff or normal sized bar, mix is perfectly fine! Your 180 will come in no time! Thanks for the comment :)
Just started lifting 3-4 months ago. Squat 185 for 5, 225 dead for 4, then 170 for 3 on bench. Are these good lifts? Never done max before so don’t know. I feel so weak when I watch fitness videos man but I’ll get there one day. Life time goal is 315 bench, 405 squat, 500+ deadlift. Btw great video Justin.
You've been at it for just 4 months. I'd say your numbers are great relative to your experience, and as long as you keep progressing in the gym and learning how to progress outside of it, you're going to hit your goal numbers, I guarantee it. Time and effort is all it takes. When you've got both of those locked in, progress *will* follow.
Those numbers are amazing brotha! The first 3-4 months is figuring things out. Keep building on the fundamentals & lifts will just start to click. PRs will be happening regularly. Before you know it, you'll be adding another plate to the bar.
I bought those swim shoes after watching your video on them, and I absolutely love them they’re so nice to wear not even just to lift but wearing them in general. They’re so lightweight and they’re actually comfortable! They’ve helped me a lot with bench surprisingly enough with getting my feet flat lol. They do seem to wiggle around a lot on my feet like say when I deadlift they sort of go to the side especially when I train pulling sumo. I’m a conventional puller and when I deadlift with my regular conventional stance they still slide to the side a tiny bit but I don’t think it’s a shoe size problem because my feet fit inside of them perfectly in length but it doesn’t feel like my foot covers the entire width but only barely.. Do you think (personally) that I should go a size smaller or is there something I can do about it? Say like wear them a certain way or do something with my feet/stance in general to fix this¿? Also I’ve been watching your videos on YT and IG and you’ve helped my technique on my lifts so much especially with the deadlift. I have long arms or at-least long for my build (5’7 160lb) and your deadlift technique has taught me a lot on thoracic rounding and what is considered good and bad with technique and the way you perform exercises (SBD & accessory movements), so I wanna thank you man, you’re a huge inspiration to me and the amount of progress you’ve made since I first started watching you is incredible. Especially being natural I feel there’s not a lot of real self claiming nattys anymore and watching your videos give me hope that I can someday be on your level with SBD and powerlifting. Honestly to me, you and your videos are pure motivation to me. I can’t wait to see how much more progress you make in the near and far future!💪🏾💪🏾
Hey Justin, love ur content, i got a question, I dont know why, but everytime I deadlift I fell very weird , like my upper back is way too rounded but idk, i started doing RDLs and it feels great, any tips for the normal convencional deadlift? sorry for the bad english im from spain.
Hey! Upper back rounding isn't neccessarily the end. Some (like myself) prefer to upper round to get more leverage when pulling. RDLS on the other hand, that's not the movement that'd recommend RDLs unless you're specifically going to powerlifting. If you're upper back feels tight from the upper back deadlift, you can always train lighter and strive for a more neutral back position. Good luck! & thank you for your comment :)
Ok understood, thank you so much, im training for strength and bodybuilding so i would like to deadlift but also do it for gains in terms of muscle and not only for strength, but yeah thank so much brother , i apreciate it.@@JustLeein
Hey Justin! What size do u wear for the YoungLA 124 6 AM Compression Shorts? I saw u wearing them in a video and want to get a few pairs cuz my gymshark shorts I have are too tight on my quads and are always riding up
Yo man, can I make a request to ask how you guys met? I'm dating a lot but haven't found someone in fitness like me and I feel kinda awkward meeting girls in the gym cause I feel like they wanna do their workouts rather than meet guys. Thanks, strongest couple on YT!!
Slow Eccentric deadlift is a great way to catch up rigidity if you breakdown in form mid lift. If your issue is off the floor, pausing an inch off the floor will make you build tightness.
i have a question about squats, is it like u should have some kind of leverages to do highbar, and some kind of leverages to do lowbar? i always wanted to highbar but i have big ass long femurs, is highbar even an option? or should i just appreciate what i got and squeeze the shit out of lowbar?
The girl in this video is 10x stronger than me as i am 60kgs bw and can only squat 50 kgs in 6 months of training hard and thats just sad being a weakling all my life🙂
you guys are so so sweet, I wish the best for both of you

Hey Lee, any tips for tight back while deadlifting, im 16 yrs old🎉

765 incoming!!!!!!!!! 👀👀
Yes brotha!
Absolutely Nobody:
Justin: *🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍* noises
I'll snake sound ove a shshh library sound ahaha
Yo Justin i need help I can more than I squat and my legs suck, I'm 5,3 bench is 264lbs and squat is is like 220lbs what would you recommend
Squat more frequently (maybe with less volume per session ) & focus on the fundamentals (unilateral work if imbalances exist for either leg).
@@JustLeein both legs are about the same size my calf’s are equally tiny, so more squats and Bulgarian split squats yeah?
Gotta love Sam sulek
Yo Justin i think that jess girl might like you bro
hmm, you really think so?😉
Do you do back once or twice a week?
Right now, one main back day & a couple of exercises on my weak point day.
@@JustLeein Hey thats what I do too
Your girl is 100% good from her back injury?
Id say like 95%. Her injury is unique.
How is bro so strong
The girl in this video is 10x stronger than me as i am 60kgs bw and can only squat 50 kgs in 6 months of training hard and thats just sad being a weakling all my life🙂
To be fair, she's been lifting for a near decade! Keep training, you'll never know where you'll end up :)
You must have this question a lot, but why not use straps instead of mixed grip? Are you not scared of a trap imbalance and/or a bicep tear ?
you cant use straps in competition
@@magsvro6668ok thanks for the clarification
You are so super cute together!
How tall are you?
185 cm
The title says deadlifting but it shows a lot more like a whole body workout lol
Yeah, primarely a pull day :P

Damn wish I could workout but it’s so damn hot 🥵
working out in supreme heat is brutal

It's honestly hilarious people still think this guy is natural.
Thanks for letting me know about getting sick from eating too much and bracing hard I was wondering why I always felt like chucking after deadlifts 🥲
Stay you bro the world love you my guy 🫡👑⚔️
