You really do a great job of empathizing with the people who are listening to you. Your explanations are wonderfully clear and well organized. But....it's science....so sometimes it can get confusing....but, like EVERY TIME, there you are, sensing that, and repeating and clarifying. Thank you. I'm really glad I found your lectures.
@Eliza Tanagras turn on your comment response option! otherwise I cant answer your questions :) the word is "enterocyte".. these are the cells found in the small intestine that function in absorption of nutrients.
6:20 fructose is broken down into glucose. How can it be?. Glucose is bigger than fructose. I don't think epitheial cells can convert fructose into glucose.
Excuse me sir i had a question on 4:40 you did say that the disaccharides are broken down to glucose , galactose and fructose right. But you did say that on (3:51) that maltose is broken down glucose and sucrose is broken down to fructose and glucose and lactose is broken down to galactose and gluccose Im a bit confuse on what is happening can you please guide me if you can thank you very much.
Inside the lumen has high conc. Of glucose and inside the enterocyte is low glucose, so why does we say glucose moves from lumen to enterocytes by secondary active transport as an uphill movement? Shouldnt it be downhill? As sodium?
Hello, i really enjoy watching your videos. It really helps me understand physiology so much better. I have a question though, just to be sure...you keep mentioning fructose transport with a special protein, that protein is GLUT-5?
I like your lectures but it's like you get an adrenaline rush and start speaking very fast during the middle of your lectures...please slow down a bit for we the beginners. : D
I'm 30 and I have an undergraduate degree and you are the best instructor I've ever had in my life.

Wow 🤩 thanks I totally absorbed this lecture ( pun intended)
Thanks you for the best lecture,
Very good video
Thanks very much for your videos . I write down each of them. And where can I find your content pictures, they are clear and helpful.
why fructose use passive diffusion instead of SGLT (active)?
Thank you.
Thanks a lot, more than helpful ❤️
Thank you so much ,,amazing explain
Great Video!
Could you be so kind and explain me why many biochemistry books say that glucose is first transported against the gradient and then along? thanks i
sir i have a question what is the word u say in 1:10 in the membrane of what? thankyou
+Eliza Tanagras
membrane of enterocyte
So glucose transport is energy-consuming but indirectly, right?
sir it should be disacharodes to polysacharides
thank youu sirrrr.......thnkuuuu ........its veryy helpfull vedioo.....
Fructose is also a 6 carbon sugar !!! 🤔
like you vedio the fetal circulation thank helped me in end of year exam

From my knowledge, yes GLUT 5 is the "special" protein
Thank you
the best
Good teacher .thanks help me
Thank you 🙏🏻
Thank u so much sir
Incredible
Fructose is a hexose not a 5 member sugar
I thought fructose had to be processed by the liver?
