OMG I'm so glad you're okay!
I'm with you on #5, everybody relates to all these kickass heroines, and I'm over here like, the seamstress from A Tale of Two Cities and Jenny Wren from Our Mutual Friend. 🤣 For what it's worth, Esther is my mom's answer, too, mainly because of her empathy.
Totally agree with your tips, especially about preparing to live in the novel's world, not just get to the resolution of the plot. This is why I'm baffled by people avoiding Victorian novels that are long. The longer they are, the more immersed you can get!

Long Victorian books are almost always the best! That era was definitely more about the craft of creation whereas nowadays I think it’s more of a focus on the craft of plotting things out. Neither is bad, just a different experience.

So sorry you had to have emergency surgery! Take whatever time you need, we will still be here whenever you are ready. Also, I loved your answers to this tag:)

'Return Of The Native' is the one adaptation I'd definitely like to see made, too - there's so much potential in this one!

Gotta say 'What a trooper' - recording videos just minutes after coming out of surgery! Well, maybe not minutes. But seriously, sorry to hear of the emergency, but glad to hear that it was caught in time before things became too nasty Have some serious chill-out time with a few good books and take care while you recover. Strangely enough, I watched Jennifer Brooks' Victorian Tag video right before I watched yours; it's a good topic for a video and I enjoyed watching both yours and hers. Best wishes for a speedy recovery!

Thank you! I’m pretty much recovered now, thank goodness. Jennifer Brooks always has such interesting thoughts on things. Glad you enjoyed the video!

I am so sorry you had to get surgery. A friend of mine’s 12 year old has to get this same emergency surgery this past weekend. Hoping you feel better soon!

Thank you! Tell your friend’s child I hope they get better soon. It was definitely not fun 😅

Tori, get well soon! That must have been quite the shocker but the fact you are doing a tag makes me think you are doing ok 🤞 I think you’d really enjoy Our Mutual Friend so dive in - and if you don’t, as you said, we all like different things. It seems as you and I are opposites where learning techniques are concerned, I am a very visual learner which is why audio books don’t won’t for me- terrible concentration but I have found that listening and reading can work quite well.

Thank you! I am feeling much better. I am really looking forward to trying Our Mutual Friend, even with my slight feeling of intimidation. And I would say I definitely get the most out of a book when I both listen and read but it’s sometimes hard to get myself to do that for some reason. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

Wow. So glad you realised and got swift treatment. How lovely you did the tag as a gentle option.

What a great job you did with this tag __ even though days from surgery. Hope you continue to feel better. 🌹 Would gladly see more Victober videos after October. Heaven knows I'll still be reading my choice . . . for months to come. :)
    Enjoyed video. 🏵️

Hope your healing is going well!!❤ don't hesitate to contact your Dr again. My son ended up in the hospital for a week because he needed lots of IV antibiotics.
