“大概三四年前，看了朋友推薦的一部名叫《兇手不止一個》的MV，感觸頗多，當時我們就萌生了與這個導演團隊合作的想法，有劇情，有思想，有內容，沒有那些花裡胡哨的炫富和無知所然的道具，純敘事，直白才能直接地傳遞感情，當時我們就毫不猶豫地定下了這個拍攝團隊”。
VaVa重新填詞的“Life’s A Struggle”在2017年《中國有嘻哈》九進六的比賽中，震撼了在場的所有導師與觀眾，並喚醒了眾多人對原著的回憶。
MV以VaVa個人為原型，成長過程為主線，從年幼單親到青春期叛逆不羈，再到因為“Life’s A Struggle”開始追逐自己的夢想，並在經歷了眾多困難以後獲得成功。考慮到MV的劇情與故事性設計，凸顯人物前後的對比變化，MV前半段並未由VaVa本人出演，而是在最終結尾的時候才出鏡。
為體現音樂生涯的艱難坎坷，拍攝在臺北與上海之間輾轉取景，拍攝週期耗時半個月，臺灣導演Jizo也煞費苦心，上海站巡演時專程攜團隊飛赴現場，安排所有粉絲參與MV的拍攝，並將該場鏡頭結合到整部MV中，並成為最震撼人心的場景。
劇本設定為“年輕且人生迷茫的叛逆女孩，經歷了很多自己無法預測的困難，但直到自己受到音樂的洗禮認清自己，並開始追逐夢想，最後終於因為自己的堅持獲得了大家的認可”。VaVa本人也表示接觸音樂前後的自己完全是兩個不同的人生，音樂的力量很大，能夠改變一個人，這是很神奇的地方。能夠成功地走上夢想的舞臺，並非因為自己叛逆的經歷，而是如何通過過去看清自己。

MV結尾引用了已故原著作者宋岳庭2004年獲得“第15屆金曲獎最佳作詞人獎”後其母親的一番致辭“他有兩支很大的翅膀，假如說他的音樂能感動一個人的話，他的翅膀就會長出多一根羽毛，我覺得他現在的羽毛，一定長得非常豐盛”。
無可厚非，宋岳庭的“Life’s A Struggle”深深地影響了一代音樂人，他的作品在辭世以後才被眾多聽眾所知曉，以至於很多音樂人的啟蒙都是因為這一首卡帶機錄製的粗糙歌曲。
這也許就是音樂蘊含的無窮力量--影響人、改變人，宋岳庭寫下自己的曾經，是一種內心真實情感的傾訴；而VaVa寫下自己的曾經，則是對影響過自己的事物一種致敬。

For newer fans of Chinese music, I think it is important to mention that this is a cover of / tribute to a song by the same name, by the legendary Taiwanese rapper Shawn Sung, who unfortunately passed away in 2002 due to bone cancer. But, as evidenced by this cover, Shawn Sung, his music, and his life continue to have an impact on culture to this day. Life's a Struggle was probably his most famous song, and it is really unfortunate that I don't see this being discussed in the comments. RIP to a legend!

我是點宋岳庭的Life's A Struggle來到這裡，以下我個人觀點
兩種詮釋都不一樣，VAVA前面敘述自己的故事很好，循序漸進，但後面表現的太柔，尤其在副歌的時候
而宋岳庭是對人生大徹大悟，已經是人生谷底，"不得不"繼續面對生活，那時候的他什麼都沒有。
當時沒有愛情、沒有親情做為支柱的他，就連唯一信任的朋友也背叛，為了友情背黑鍋而入獄。
雖然很沉重，但是聽起來是有感情有畫面
如果今天第一次聽VAVA改編的這首，也許我會迷上
但是聽過宋岳庭的歌後，給我的衝擊感真的有落差
前面鋪陳的很好，副歌抑揚頓挫可能要再更強烈一點
華納小編，標題還是加個宋岳庭，那才是最大的尊重與致敬！

There's a lyric here that goes " You can't call it life without experiencing the struggles " and that's so true, otherwise you're not truly living.. 💖 i'm glad she's able to spread her word through music for us unheard.
I highly doubt that she killed someone and got scot free away with it in China.. In general, no way. But even more so in CCP China.... Like another comment by Ella said, this is just a tribute to another guy. Shawn Sung is the one who´s life she is rapping about (i think, otherwise it would not make any sense).

The song was recorded without stepping foot in any music studio, meaning this song was done with just one recorder and a keyboard and no editing, while VAVA's version was on stage with lots of back ground support and not to mentioned having her version of this song recorded in a studio with all possible enhancement and editing. Shaun did not publish this song in the mainstream at all, he treated it as one of his projects, that's all. It was published by his family shortly after his death and it immediately became a major hit back then and he also won the best lyrics award in 金曲奖 beating Jay Chou and 方文山. VAVA became famous because of this song not the the other around, go and listen to Shaun's original and compare it to VAVA's version, that dude sang about life , to me VAVA is just Whining, I do reckon that VAVA is a magnificent raper , but if you want to compare them just by using this " Life's struggle " song, Shaun was way better

原唱跟這女孩兩者的本人都很喜歡 , 可以把被社會孤立的人內心黑暗面用旋律及一字一詞來呈現，但在Vava 的聲音給人感覺很平面單調 , 每句後面都有一個她獨特的"洋音"給我聽起來比原唱俗多了 , 或者衹有我是這麼覺得 , 但是相比之下宋的把自己人生背後的故事以Rap 的形式來演繹 ,更為震撼。曲中使閱曲者墮落黑暗之中並產生力量予以對抗整個體制。我認為無論甚麼型式的歌曲，把觀眾帶至表演者情感當中才稱得上最好的歌手。

會有這麼多人不爽是因為 宋唱的比較有感情， vava唱的比較像是用唸的. Rap 不只是用唸的， 還有大小聲， 長短音， 拉音， 唸的態度，快轉唱腔來傳達歌詞裡面的感情. 雖然vava有幾項技巧， 但是全部融合的效果沒宋好， 因為饒舌技巧技巧沒跟歌詞融合. 所以聽起來感覺用唸的，沒有感情. 而且這首歌叫Life struggle. 那就不應該用這麼溫柔的唱法來詮釋這首歌的歌詞. 所以沒感情是一定的
現在的新一代的饒舌歌手以為唸的快，唸在節奏上 就是屌 但是沒有人可以了解你是在唱三小. 聽起來只是一連串的鼠來寶沒有感情. 真正的饒舌就看8Miles的future. 我們不要跟阿母神比較， 拿future在停車場freestyle拿段， 他唱的慢， 但是節奏到位，口齒清晰， 歌詞重點都有特別用音量跟感情的注射加強，每個字都唱到你心裡. 這才是饒舌的精髓. 饒舌是美國黑人在抱怨身事的一個舒壓路徑. 你要是唱的聽不懂，沒感情 這就不是饒舌了. 頑童的主唱抓到精髓 唱的很好. Vava 可以跟他學習一下 希望妳更上一城樓 讓華人的饒舌提升！ 加油
