he great cellist and his Hungarian pianist partner traverse the Beethovenian repertoire for their instruments, including a set of variations and a sonata from the composer’s early period, one from his middle period, and one from the beginning of his late period.

the Hungarian flavouring is superb - it captures the spirit of the pieces perfectly. I feel like I am back in Vienna, when it was very much the cosmopolitan, Austro-Hungarian city of Europe. Superb performance, absolutely superb.
