Carol Diann Johnson a true black queen. Eyes, teeth, coloring of her skin a beautiful cocoa brown and a figure to die for. What a glamorous woman inside and outside. She makes me proud to be a black woman.

She’s just a queen. Being black has nothing to do with her beauty or talent.

@@brockmeeks1695 I respectfully disagree as a Black woman she broke down barriers that have made it easier for other women of color to become entertainers! Her show Julia was groundbreaking; first non stereotypical and leading role for a Black in tv. She wasn't a maid, she was a professional, a nurse and she didn't have to depend on a man!

I’ve thought of her every day since her passing and still find it hard to believe she is no longer with us. I love watching interviews as she talks about her life as well as watch her film/TV projects and listening to her music. Such poise, elegance and grace. She had it all #RIP

What an icon, what a legend. So classy, so sophisticated, so introspective. And her comedic timing is impeccable. What a lovely interview. And the audience. Credit to the audience for being engaged. REST IN PEACE, Queen.

I truly love this woman! The way she speaks and articulates every word she says! Captivates me! She is a shear image of what a black girl should inspire to be like as a grown woman!

This was Her on purpose last interview. 😉 Diahann was my absolute favorite entertainer of all time. She is one of the few people I have ever had the pleasure of watching who seemed to be living on purpose, with a compass. She was do this with such elegance. Life can be lived, and anyone alive is living, but Diahann seemed to float as if gazing on the one with all the answers. Elegance and grace are the hardest things to pull off, especially for those not born to a hell of a lot of money. But Diahann pulled off. The one thing that you don't get when you're living on purpose are a great many sign posts and reassurances that you're doing it right. The fear and lonelyness always looms overhead. But dammit the magic Is making it look easy. My friends she did. Very well done.

I'm sorry but coming from humble beginnings, has nothing to do with class or elegance. We see it often, rich people that are trashy and classless! You can't buy class or elegance, you either have it or you don't. You can tell that she never forgot where she came from, besides her obvious beauty, class, glamour, humility, she possessed a sense of her like her mother; she's so down to earth!

Her duet with Judy Garland at such an early age after rising to the very top at that age on Broadway shows she was regarded as one of the very top entertainers. Was a beautiful showcase for Diahans talent.

She did an excellent job answering his questions, but think most of his questions were terrible. She is a storyteller and that is what makes her so wonderful with humor, and style, and grace. Gone too soon. RIParadise Ms. Carroll. Thanks Jannis Lewis for your great comment post.

What a gift this is! It's interesting how how consistent Ms. Carroll is in all her interviews, like she brought her A game to this interview that was not televised and was for a small audience yet she fully engages.

She was born in 1935 two years after my mother 1933. They are so much alike. Sweet charming women. I enjoyed watching her talk about the past and her life. But she never said why she had no children. Or did she. Because the way her parents left her with her aunt and uncle. Maybe?
