Alpinestars boots are the best I have the tech 10s but I’d recommend these if you don’t like the stiffness or rigidity of the 10. They have very good ankle protection compared to pretty much all competitors.
I ride in the tech 7s and like the fit and features of these boots. I was pretty aggravated to lose an entire buckle holder on a trail ride this weekend. Between that and the unacceptably cheap zipper in my bionic armor I’m not too jazzed on the quality/QC at alpinestars these days

Suggestion to show how flexible the sole of the boot is. One of the considerations folks have in these types of boots is foot protection which is accounted for by metal shanks in the soles of other boots. Some people (depending on use case) use this as a buying decision so I’d have liked to see that here and also in future boot reviews.
Good feedback. FWIW, most boots no longer use a metal shank in boots and use a form of TPU or other reinforced plastic as it helps lower cost and makes the boots much more comfortable, while meeting the same testing requirements. We do talk about it in nearly all boot-videos, but if we can get props from the manufacturer to show the shank we will try.
@@RevZilla thanks for letting me know on the metal vs tpu shank. Suggestion still applies of course, I personally have an old pair of Tech 7s, Sidi Atojo, and Gaerne SG22s. There’s a vast difference in the flexibility of the soles between my tech 7s vs the SG22s & Atojos. The tech 7s are flexible relatively speaking so I was curious to see if this had been changed at all.
I’m kinda bummed they kept the Velcro, I love tech 7 boots but don’t understand why they have Velcro at the top of the boot, it just interferes with the buckle closing the boot tight. But I still like them and will keep buying them.
Makes sense, dirt riders take a lot more hits into trees and rocks than ski boots. Plus you need to be able to move around and shift / brake so they can't just be overly stiff and rigid without issues.
I tried these on and couldn't even close them, haha. Granted I'm a "bigger" dude, but these had the smallest calf opening of any boot I ever put on. If they had fit, I would have bought them.
I have the enduro and don't even ride trails. Just wanted the best protection in case my 500+ lb. Adventure bike decides to land on my foot! After seeing what happened to Moto Giant in a crash. They are incredibly comfortable, but took a day or so to get used to shifting and I'd like it if my pants fit over them instead of tucked in. I live in the rainforest so ride in heavy downpours regularly and needed something waterproof, but don't want the water to run down and into them. I'm sure I'll find a pair that fit over them.
Same issue as you …I carry a set of light waterproofs . The pants generally fit over the tech 7 enduros …takes 2 minutes to put on without taking boots off , before a downpour .
Pick up a pair of the Alpinestars Tech 7 Boots from RevZilla! rvz.la/4dr20dF
Can confirm, I'm a US 10.5 (nike airforce 1 or even US 11 Jordan 1) and these in US10 fit very well

Yeah, Anthony is still with the company along with the other 2 original founders. Just doesn't shoot videos anymore.
It was definitely one of the catchiest intros ever!❤️🔥

Holy moly! 😂 those look more over-engineered than my old Ski boots! (And I took a lot of falls in those!)

Just to help provide context for others, can you toss up your calf-measurement so people can be aware if they are in the same zone?
@@RevZilla The widest part of my calf measures 17.5" around.

Are you wearing the same size as you were in the previous gen?
Yeah, Pat still rocks the same size so no changes there.
@@RevZilla perfect. Cheers for the reply. I’m a US 9 in tech 7 and US 10 in tech 10
