Today at the Traumatic Brain Injury Clinic, my speech therapist instructed me to find " uplifting and positive music that contained chants in a language other than English." She seemed pleased at first when I told her I picked music in Latin.
😂😂
That's hilarious!
Good luck with your speech therapy! Great story! Omg
After this one, go get One Winged Angel from the Final Fantasy 7 soundtrack
How’s it going? Have you recovered?
I believe that is the most haunting theme in horror history. These movies scared the shit out of me when I first watched them and the soundtrack didn’t help not scaring me any less, this is one of the most chilling and haunting pieces of music I’ve ever heard.
So true, the most chilling and haunting music and movie ever made. It would be different if they had used the theme from the Benny Hill Show. That would make it easier to watch this scacry movie.
@@samspencer582 The Benny Hill Show made liberal use of Beethoven's FUR ELISE. It's played at about 3.5X - 4X the original tempo (barely over 50 bpm, I believe), during the closing time-lapse chase skit. They turned dark & somber to bright & bouncy ... gave it a discernible Scherzo feel. Neat trick!
@tdesq.2463 now you're just showing off LOL
@@margaretcollins5507 Well, it's comforting to know that someone's here to step up and check me when needed.
Truth be told: My comment was accurate. .. And, so was Yours. I'll own it. No challenge coming this side. Good eye.

This musical score is pure gold! Good job Jerry!
Read this as Kramer
If the score is pure gold, you can say that Jerry is truly a ... goldsmith.
Großartige Filmmusik. Ein Meisterwerk von Jerry Goldsmith zu einem großartigem Film.
Beautiful, haunting, frightening, a marvellous main title to a truly legendary score. Hail Goldsmith.
This is an excellent piece of music. It’s basically a Gregorian chant that’s been sped up and any reference to God and the Virgin Mary has been changed to celebrate satan. So what you’re listening too is literally a mass for the devil and all his demons, which makes it extra terrifying
what is Satan, anyway?
I thought if you don’t beleave all you Satan soldiers are just joking around right? You don’t beleave in all that better to rain in Hell.. nonsense Do ya?…
I know a couple of those and they seem
……. RTD.. y tu?
just a trace in the shape of your 🪆🪞🎁
This music score is just ……UNTOUCHED!! You really feel like “something Is Terrible and nothing can fix it” type of way. You just know they aren’t saying good things if it was in English. Soo effective
@@blackberet747 huh? Why is that?
I didn't understand the last bit of your post. Are you referring to Latin?
Honestly.
I am curious.
You wrote that the music score is
"UNTOUCHED!!" with 2 exclamation marks.
Then you went on to say;
"Something is terrible and nothing can fix it"
??
@@blackberet747 what I was meaning is that the Music Score is so good that nothing else can top it which is why I said it is “untouched”.
The rest of my comment said you “feel” like something is terrible and nothing can fix it meaning the music score makes you “Feel” the Terror & dread like something is terrible and you can’t stop it. That basically the lyrics aren’t saying “good things” but rather “evil things” which is why the lyrics in English are saying “raise the body of satan” which I never knew but you can honestly tell they are saying that from how “dark” the music score sounds.
I think that was the purpose of the music score to actually FEEL the horror & dread

I know.
I'm only trying to be a smartass.
I wasn't expecting such a detailed reply = cool. And thanks for making the effort.
I only hope that you never get around to the Exorcist.
Just wow. I can't even come up with words here.
Not only was this film along The Shining some of the first films my parents exposed me to at 9 years old but the score was capturing my emotions long before I knew what a socre was or that the music was doing that to me. Sometimes you are stuck on the visuals and you forget to realize that the visuals are nothing without a good score.
The Exorcist is widely considered the scariest movie of all time. I beg to differ. This scared the shit out of me. The music had alot to do with it. The acting was incredible as well. The direction was as chilling as anything I have ever seen. Great old school horror at its best !
What my supervisor listens to on the way to work.
Where do you work? Any open positions?
😂😂😂😂😂😂
🤣👏🤣👏🤣👏🤣👏🤣👏🤣 how have we never met at work
It's not his fault. It just plays everywhere he goes.
The MOST PERFECT horror movie score of all time. The build up to the bell coming in at .31 second mark......just one note from that bell, then it takes off. Genuis
Saw this movie when I was 7, this music haunts me to this day
Absolutely fantastic music score and theme music to one of my favourite films. Still up there in my favourites to this day. The Latin just adds to its chilliness.
Jerry Goldsmith is a genius!
This is the best horror movie music ever created
Fun fact: Charlton Heston was offered the role of Mr. Robert Thorn but due to him being a devout Christian, he didn't want to be in such movies. The role instead went to Gregory Peck.
And Gregory Peck died shortly after so............ UH OH
No he didn’t he lived for years after 1976!
Send this to my enemies

U r so funny 😁
It'll have to go through that anime body pillow but fret not

Absolutely fantastic piece of music
I always have this playing whenever my sister brings her kid over for me to babysit.
Superb Acting by Gregory Peck and Lee Remick
This is a great film❤❤❤❤❤
All time classic
DAVID WARNER one of the most underrated film stars EVER. Leo McKern, Lee Remick.
One of my favorite horror movies!
i agree . far superior than the remake in my opionion
Sensational Score by Maestro Jerry Goldsmith….very good edit 👍👍👍
Mine too
SAME HERE
Personally, I like "The Omen" even though I am a diehard atheist and I also regard the 1976 film as more of a mystery/suspense thriller than just being horror anyway.
This melody is amazing.
this is the best movie ever! so chilling and disturbing
Masterpiece!!!!!!!!!!!!
Brilliant film ! Looove Gregory Peck !! As a kid had to walk through that church yard where the stake falls, to and from school. It's St Marks, next to Putney Bridge London. Ok in summer, but in the dark ... 👻😱☠️👹💩💩💩
I can't imagine that! Wow! That would be creepy for sure! I love this film, have the DVD. Movies were "Fun" back in the day. I'm 64.

This, the opening theme of The Name of The Rose, and the Kyrie in Gyorgi Ligeti's Requiem are my top three movie movie themes of all time.

I remember when i was a kid like 10-12 these movie and the second one was so scary to me and that nights i cant sleep with affraid with these song in my head XD
I listen every night before bed 🛌
I saw this movie in 1976 when I was 6 , now I am 53 but still remember this theme song…. 😨
How did you manage to see it in 76 as a 6 year old, and you're not getting in any cinemas to see this at 6 and we were still some way from having videos, and if we were you'd be waiting a lot longer for a video release in those days. I remember the times very well, so I'm not buying that. Unless you live in some primitive country that didn't have age restriction in movies.
@@Darrenski have to agree with that. It was Rated R and no way was a 6 year old going to be let into that movie. Or Exorcist either No way !
Nice and peaceful music.
I get the feeling that this soundtrack was playing whenever a Rothschild was born
The cemetry scene when they open the coffin will always haunt me.
Der Film war super vor allem die Musik dazu.
The Omen is a great demon child horror flim beside The Exorcist and the music Jerry Goldsmith was amazing composer with choir wins the Academy Awards Best Composer🏆and is my number 1 favorite and best flim of the year 1976. And Richard Donner the same director of Superman The Movie, Lethal Weapon and especially my all-time favorite flim The Goonies.
It's all for you, Damien.

Beautiful music of merry Christmas 😁😁
There is something about these old horror movies still scary then the new crops one coming out today
This is where Bakura revealed his favorite card.
There is something seriously wrong with me. That part where the spear went into the screaming man I found hilarious. Hey buddy, stand away a few feet!
Play this alone at night at home lights out I dare you
This started a trend of Latinate chorale with a ponderous, rhythmic orchestra part based loosely on Carl Orff's entirely secular Carmina Burana. Nevertheless, the running joke with me is the screaming Latin chorus that heralds my entrance.
Omens main theme is the introtrack of death metal band Vital Remains on Reduce to Ashes Demo

Scariest part of this film: Billie Whitelaw... That lady freaks me out.
@@HDFilmTributes Yes ... YES!!! You absolutely nailed it! I saw this Masterpiece on HBO back in the 70s. And that most penetratingly diabolical, serpentine glare I've ever experienced is still burnished on my brain just as boldly as the night I first saw it ... or when it saw me. Can't be sure. Phenomenal work by Ms. Whitelaw. And as for you: Good Call!

What was the scary music from Damien was it Gregorian chants or flight of the Valkyries?
Gregorian chants.
@Robert_Douglass thank you I thought I was right. Really scary chants I think the omen had similar music.
