😂😂😂 Off topic: the current world’s richest man Bernard Arnault married concert pianist Helene Mercier in 1991; the $200B guy supposedly hired an orchestra to play a Bach concerto for 3 pianos together with his wife and son, this slightly boring concert can also be seen on UA-cam.
I was in the shower, and I like to listen to music as you do when you're having a nice rinse. So, I put my General Playlist on shuffle... and I heard that this came on. Then, after I finished showering... I see my cat, sitting in-front of my laptop just casually watching this. I mean, he was REALLY watching it. He seems to have an irrational fear of violins, and he seemed to be analyzing Augustin's playing for "tactical purposes". Noice.
Having played this sonata on piano for both flutists and violinists, I have usually enjoyed hearing it on flute way more often. But when played with such effortless virtuosity and effusive musicality as Mr. Hadelich brings to the piece, I'm completely won over. Also, it seems only fair that violinists should have another Prokofiev sonata which is a little more Apollonian and lyric, contrasting with the Dionysian incisiveness of his first violin sonata. Also, Charles Owen is clearly an amazing pianist, with just the right tone for this, and a superb collaborator. Check out some of his solo piano recordings as well!
One of BEST Interpretation of this Sonata!!!! I am FLOORED how beautifully and effortlessly Augustin plays....and so be it ..it has to be so!!!! The Pianist is glorious!!! Thank you for Posting....what a joy!!!

This pair of musicians is perfectly matched and makes beautiful sense of this music. For this video they have found the right photographer to highlight their breathtaking technique and treat both of them well!
Exquistely balanced. Pure joy. So in sync with each other. Just what my heart needed during these troubled times. My wish is that everyone will eventually be in a living situation, educated and free of hunger, and racial injustice, where their own hearts can beat to whatever rythem they choose.
Dude. You are my hero. I am playing this piece, and I love this piece, and you are immaculate. Your perfect execution--in LIVE performance, by memory--would be reason alone to hold you in the highest esteem, but it is the HEART behind your musical logic and interpretive choices...Awe-inspiring. Charles Owen, you are also a miracle, clearly! Thank you both so much for posting this glorious performance, it is spell binding. Including, apparently for the feline audience, according to other fans in your comment section 😽 ... Mille grazie!!
Thank you so much Augustin, and your very very clever pianist. That looked like very very hard work, but, in a pleasurable way though. I really really love ❤️ it. And you as always were superb and amazing and awesome too. Please stay safe and well too xxx Mags
I never thought I would be sorry for flute players but they have well and trully lost this gem of a sonata. The violin version is specticular and this duo are resplendent in its interpretation.
Maybe it's to prove that he's not a robot and is, in fact, human. I'd be more worried, if he wasn't breathing 🤣 I remember Augustine Hadelich (violinist) talking about how he breathes at particular places so he will get the sound he wants from his instrument. Another musician that does this is Stjepan Hauser (cellist), sometimes it even looks like he's talking to his instrument.
jeff bezos is an amazing pianist

If he ist an amazing pianist, I am also an amazing one.
??
It's late and I have things I need to do but I can't stop listening and watching.
I love how he doesn't try to physically overpower the instrument and just lets the sound ring out. kudos!
Yes!! it's like his signature! I mega love it too!!

OMG! After having studied flute I think this is the first time I've ever listened to the violin version. This performance is absolutely BRILLIANT!!
Can't go wrong with this duo!
Amazing interpretation! Love hearing him play

Well said!! I agree
Absolutely astounding performance. Can't wait to hear you at Tanglewood this summer.
This is just gorgeous playing from both artists.
Mr Agustin are u fantastic Violinist!!
This man must've studied David Oistrakh's playing to a T. I think Oistrakh would've bowed down in appreciation of this perfected interpretation.

Lovely
This is done so very nicely! You’re winning me over to Prokofiev!❤️
Very nice. Thank you.
Beautiful all around-the sonata itself and the musicians' interpretation.
If you enjoy this rendition...try Mr. Hadelich with Orion Weiss playing the Brahms Sonate #2 in A Mayor, Opus 100 it is highly recommended.
Merry Christmas!! :)
Impresionante! !!
Bravissimo!!!❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉

What is the name of the sonata!
Is this piece originally for flute?
Yes, David Oistrakh thought it would sound better on violin
@@thebagelman2852 it still is a flute sonata and it still sounds better on flute 🤷
yes
13:06 (for my practice!)
Love this performance! A light imperfection would be the sniffing sounds.
Yeah

No

ye
Prokofiev 2nd violin sonata?
Cool
Jeff Bezos plays the piano lmao
The F minor Violin Sonata, op. 80 is way better than this op. 94a. Sadly, not many people play the F minor.
Lollllll anyone here in year 9999999999
It sounds waaaaaaaaaaaay better on the flute :D
Nope you’re wrong. Sounds better on the violin. They both sound good though
Actually it sounds best on clarinet.
@@leo32190 Sounds better on flute, which is its originall form
What abou the pizzicatos?? 😢
