Type O Negative was another band that could make a cover song something completely their own. I think a band that can craft a good and still unique cover shows that they are musicians as actual artists and not someone in it just for the fame or the money. But those are nice too I bet.
While 4-Way Diablo isn't considered one of their best albums, it certainly had some kickass tracks on it. This being one of the best of those...nice job with the upload
I'm a big fan of both. Funny enough I didn't know about the RS version (original) This Monster Magnet version does the original true justice. True Flattery to the Rolling Stones! But then again, thats the mastermind of Dave Wyndorf.....
Monster Magnet rule... I'm 55 now and have a huge record collection... and lots of Monster Magnet pic sleeve 45s... Noone in my family cares about that stuff. I have Murder Tractor 45 signed by the original band.... plus lots of other Magnet singles. Let me know if you are interested.
Great band, l love the Stones and this is a smokin cover, that guitar trip, so simple and drives the whole song... Cool as fuck, but other than the guitar and vocals, it's 'exactly' the same as the original version, it sounds like they just sampled the whole thing, I would have liked to hear them do it their way.... If they really did play everything on this, and didn't sample a thing.... Damn, they nailed it..!
Very, very good. Still, it's J. Hendrix interp. of .......Watchtower.....and The Clash I Fought the Law. plus Hendrix Hey Joe check it out. It's totally diff. from the The Leaves version!
I totally agree with all cool comments about this version. I'm selling my records and as well I have the original acetate for the cover of the Tab album. I got it from Tim Cronin at a Monster Magnet show in Detroit. I'm going to sell it. Not listed yet but if you are interested in rare Magnet stuff... I have their first 2 singles... Lizard Johnny/Freak Shop USA and Murder/Tractor on eBay. The latter is signed by the original band in 1990... including John McBain. Buy them both and I will include the acetate and of course I will provide a picture. If you are unsure what I'm talking about... look at the cover of the Tab album. The eyeball scenerio behind the band. It is almost priceless.... but with their first 2 singles and the acetate.... you are the ultimate Magnet fan... "Screaming out on the Street...'witnessed the birth of a freak... She likes you Johnny ☠️!"
I have trouble playing the piano when I take ketamine ( or pcp). With LSD and other hallucinogens I'm okay, but not at my best. Heroin is fine, and feel I play even better after shooting up some grade A persian. DMT ... NO WAY!! Cocaine, but it tortures me to sit still. HOW ABOUT YOU, DAWG?
Most under rated band in history along with the Flat Duo Jets and TAD
Best coverband on earth. This, Brainstorm, Into the Void & 3 Kingfisher is just example. Dave is a geni. Their own stuff is even better !

Scary good cover of my favorite Stones song.
Freakin amazing!
Very underrated band....
Is there anything better than that mellotron!?
Such a great psychedelic instrument that Brian Jones, incidentally, perfected......
