Why are people saying the engine is reliable lol mine broke on me for no reason and my mechanic put a engine in and it didn’t run because it was shit also, not sure if I’ll even be able to find a k series engine to replace my broken one at this point
with a lot of these really old cars they either sit and rot away with their stock engine or someone puts a proper drivetrain in it and continues to enjoy the car. we all know who the real enthusiasts are
I think they'd be more "accepting" if it was swapped with LS or HEMI instead of Japanese engines but you do have a point. It's their car, let them put whatever engine they like. Let people put LS on RX7s, RB26 on Mustangs and etc.

Now that I’m 59 years old I drive a Honda CRV with a K engine it’s the best engine I ever owned is so reliable I want nothing more than to soup it up ,but I can’t find a standard transmission so this guy got everything I want all wrapped up in one

My 65 Mustang Coupe was super light it had a weight of 2460 on the title with the 289 4-barrel so that moved out I loved it back in the eighties I had it I had the 289 totally rebuilt heads and everything it had a little over 300 horsepower and a Holley 600 with a hand choke it did the most massive burnouts just hit the gas pedal to the floor!

This is a pretty good option actually for these 64 through 66s, the shock tower locations prohibit anything wider than 8.2 deck SBFs, the typical thing people go to who want a bunch of power is a dart based 363 but this is going to end up way lighter than that, Just not as much grunt. But in a lightweight car like this. That K series is going to be a lot of fun. I know you already said it, but I would prioritize getting those harnesses or some sort of shoulder belt in the car sooner than later. I've seen what happens to people an accidents with just lap belts on and it's not good. That car's got a lot of power, keep yourself safe!

I’ve seen a single picture of an ‘80s Jaguar XJ6 with a K-Swap. I reposted it on a Jag page and 90% thought it was photoshopped or it just wouldn’t work. Got them spinning in a frenzy!
So, what's crazy is my Civic makes 709 whp on it's current tune with a built LSVTEC (B18B1 non-VTEC block with a VTEC head) and it has a Thermal Research full 3" exhaust and it's fairly quiet until the 60mm wastegate opens. I also have a 2004 Acura TL with stock cats, stock collector pipe, but I put a 2.5" Invidia exhaust on it and even with silencers in the mufflers it's as loud as my turbo Civic. I tried it with a hood exit exhaust and it was extremely loud.
I respect the shit out of that. It keeps an old car on the road and it's probably faster and more reliable than it ever was.

Manual CR-V are out there, just go get another. I still plan on getting one for a daily. But also building an AWD Civic.

@@jojojeep1 Second gen 2002-2006 came in K24 and 5 speed manual. They also have a dummy gear and you can add the 6th gear pretty easy.

The K series is like the modern alternative to the small block Chevy. It'll fit in a ton of chassis and makes power. I love this swap.
