getting an ender pearl at exactly the amount of health it would kill you if you use it is way too funny, nice video
Getting to the nether is going to be a real step-up once you can get there. Food sources, renewable wood, and of course potions, which means villagers, which means wandering traders are useful.... lots of things you can do in this challenge, I hope it continues!

Another way to extend your block placement reach in a pinch without expending them would be to use torches from that slabbed stair room. You can place the torch on the nearest edge from what you want to reach and place a block on the far side of the torch's small hitbox. The block ends up in a place that would have taken two blocks to reach, *and* the torch can be easily picked back up to do it again.
I like your approach to things, very methodical, very detail oriented. I am quite invested in this challenge video

I'm glad you liked it! I think the reason it didn't get many views is because I split it into 3 parts and it was on hardcore mode (which meant i had to restart if i died) + progression was very slow
23:37 I just realized that by using this method, you could spread the water out underneath the stronghold ever so slight to make it easier when recovering from falls (instead of having to dive for one small area at the center of the fountain).
It might be tedious work, but it could be worth it if it saves you in the future.

Loving this so far! Going after spiders is a good idea, and now that you have a crafting table making bone blocks would be good.
If you're available to build a mob grinder you can collect any iron armor they drop and smelt them into nuggets, it'll be slow but combined with the chance for zombies to drop iron I'm sure you'll get a bucket in no time. Also think you might be able to smelt iron bars into nuggets, but you might want to save them.
Smelting the armour is a good idea. I was going to use the mob grinder for rotten flesh and string but I'll definitely do that as well.

You should make a fishing rod with the string of the cobweb to get food and useful junk like string and sticks

A cobblestone stone generator is really important so that you don't fall into the void.

At 8:46 you could have placed the door and then a block on the side and then your second door for a lot of extra room
22:05 - you didn't need to put any light there, mobs cannot spawn on slabs

How did you get the doors?! The only single one I got was the one next to the stairs..
P.S. If you want the cobblestone generator to work, you have to stand where the water is flowing. See how the water is pushing the cobblestone in a certain direction? You just have to stand there
There's actually five doors that are accessible. The stair one, the one outside the portal room, the one next to the fountain, and two further ones. You have to break the stone blocks though to get them (except the stair one). And yeah I realised my mistake on the generator haha. In the next part it's much better. Sorry for the late reply btw

im not an expert, but I recommend make videos you enjoy making, and people will feel that vibe when they watch it. so dont make it forced if that makes sense. and even if your videos dont perform well, at least you had fun
This is such an interesting challenge! Will the nether be default generation or like just a fortress/bastion?
It's going to be normal generation, but there's actually a different challenge I have planned that involves only a fortress

At the start of the challenge, why would you not bridge one block, and only think about putting it down to get 1 block of elevation?? horizontal movement is better than vertical movement for reaching places.

please show some of the raw jumps instead of hard cutting to midway through, im a skeptic by natu re so i automastically assume theres some fishy stuff going on with editing your failure or whatever
Awesome concept for a video but I felt like the beginning just took way too long. Only made it 5 minutes in before typing this and eventually clicking off because while navigating a stronghold in the void is a challenge, it felt like a lot of unneeded filler. I was waiting for you to make any progress and after 5 minutes we were still at square one. It was kind of annoying. Just some constructive criticism.

tiktok mindset moment, didnt have any problems with the first part of the video. he could've just cut off the first attemp and said that it's second attempt, but the way it was presented in the video was more interesting for me

yeah youre completely right about that. I think it was a big mistake to start this off in hardcore mode because dying is super annoying and a lot progress is lost. In future challenges I'm not gonna do it in hardcore, but for this specific challenge I can't really change it now. so I apologise for that
