Notice how Sammy gets so lost in the groove after the solo he loses track of his microphone and has to sprint back to it like Usain Bolt? I have never seen another drummer do that. Alex isn't even in the conversation when they debate great drummers of rock because it goes without saying that he's the top dog and everyone else is just trying to get a bone.
he is playing to a cllck but expanding it....making it more fluid..but no..he has the metronome click in his ear and has to come down on the one..good stuff
Watching this again a few years later. It still crushes!! Man these guys were absolutely at the top of their game during this period. Ed and Al were literally unstoppable, and with Sammy out front, and in a zone like this..... these guys ruled the World. Amazing. Unbelievable almost, and other-worldly. This is just so sikk... after all these years. Still amazing.
Yeah - me too. I saw them on this tour in Richmond in '89. It was amazing. Unbelievable how tight and musical they were. Definitely at the top of their game. Each of them was amazing. The musicianship and vocals were other worldly !!
Me too. I fell in love with them with DLR. I was so upset when he left. They changed to World together. And then..... this happened. LOL It was even better. And they changed the World again. I mean... think about that. Unbelievable what these guys did.
It got better until the Carnal Knowledge album. The lyrics of Spanked and Amsterdam were embarrassing even to me at 18 yrs old when the album came out. And then Balance album was uh ... not great either. (Just my opinion tho)
always loved this song. the energy! when i disovered this live version i had to listen to it again about 10 times in a row. VH was the band! ... still is!
You Sammy worked out boxing and riding a mountain bike that I think was the first developed he started a bike company way back in 87 or 88 he was in great shape still is
In a company, they say that the employees are as good as the leader. Here are 4 highly explosive creative positive leaders. What Van Halen have created is simply beautiful 💙🎼
Can't believe how rhythmically and tonally tight they are here. This is 20-25 years before real-time auto-tune. Sammy is singing what we be acceptable after 50 takes in the studio today. Sure there is a bit sequenced keyboard in the background, but far out - guitar, drums, backing vocals would be as good as many artists would take days to get right in the studio. Shame about Sammy's yellow pants!!
This is one of the Best songs they did since 5150 Alex Drumming Ian amazing and Eddie ! And Mikes backing vocals are incredible and Eddie !! We Miss you!!
I just got out of the Marine Corps about 6 months prior and bought a house in the country. When my wife and kids were gone I blasted this shit. My closest neighbor was maybe 300 yards away
For those who remember "Guitar for the practicing musician" magazine, they had a "Guitar Solo of the Year" poll around the time OU812 came out. George Lynch's In My Dreams solo was #1 the year before OU812 came out. I really think Eddie was trying to record a solo to win the next poll. If you listen to "Mine All Mine", that solo is like he was trying to impress judges and cover all the bases with originality, difficulty, flash & composition. I only realized this listening to the recent remasters.
Favorite part of this song and it really is one of his best recorded in-song solos. Beat It will probably always be #1 for most fans but in this tune I love how he teeters on the the edge of chaos throughout the solo and then brings it all back together at the end.
Whoever “restored” this video needs to keep their day job. The audio is terrible. Overcompressed and several dropouts. Look for the same video that does not say “ restored” to avoid the mess that was done to this.
I enjoy it, need something to complain about? Most of this super old stuff is really grainy and barely listenable… I’m super grateful.. maybe someone can take it an add upon it… wiener schnitzel
What a MONSTER drummer Alex was!!!

lets do not forget the great Michel Anthony .
Does not get any better in my rock book. Incredible energy.
drummer won't get attention as much as he deserves - he's mighty drummer .heavy when needed (like this live peace )...
THE BEST BAND IN THIS WORLD: VAN HALEN IS.
Had the chance to see them 4 times…..great memories!
Please tell me one of those times was with Sammy
0U812 is one of the greatest productions of all all times.
Simply one word... Awesome. RIP~EVH🤘
What a great time it was to see these fantastic artists! Sammy kills it !
Absolutely!!! I saw them on this tour and they were all at the very top of their game.

Miss those days
Such an underated song ❤❤❤
What a sound. Eddie is the GOAT. Be at peace🎶🎙
I love how Sammy's rocking out and forgets to get to the mic for the final verse.
I knew something happened lol
And since Al is playing this song to a click (headphones), Sammy has to know where he was in the song lol
@@Arthur-ke9vzBut yet he does it!
@@mortis5150 absolutely yes!!!
EVH just looking at him like, bruh,,,
The lyrics get better with each album too they are the greatest man I sure miss these guys playing together

Great live performance, I had forgotten how great Sammy was. He really saved the band after David left.
Ed is the BEST. RIP
always loved this song. the energy! when i disovered this live version i had to listen to it again about 10 times in a row. VH was the band! ... still is!
Sammy put his soul into these lyrics..h
Classic Sammy and one of Eddie's best solos,VH FOREVER!
what a great time it was !!!
The way MA and EVH harmonized was absolutely stunning.
He's sound and tone was absolutely ridiculous 😊
Looking past Sammy looking like he's in a Jane Fonda workout video, this is a great song musically and lyrically. RIP Eddie.
Alex just "snares" it on drums!
True but idc the way he be struttin across the stage he got moves bruh you gotta admit.
You Sammy worked out boxing and riding a mountain bike that I think was the first developed he started a bike company way back in 87 or 88 he was in great shape still is
Beautiful brothers. The best live band ever. They actually play and sing live.. ✌🏻🙏🏻
Good job on the audio and video. Sammy is incredible.
when Sammy is in a reflective and thoughtful zone (Humans Being, The Dream Is Over, Judgment Day, 5150 title track, this song) he's untouchable.
This is probably the most sophisticated song the band ever wrote, musically and lyrically.
i thought the same thing. It’s so clean, the guitar, Sammys voice and Eddie and Micheals harmonizing along with Alexes Drums
Really..if you think that then you don't even know V H
@@BobJohnson-mq2dr Take your whiskey home, bro.
Everything that makes a good Van Halen song is here: the thundering drums, the blistering guitar solo, and the soaring harmonies.
And he makes it hummable.
Brings back excellent memories this song cranks
In a company, they say that the employees are as good as the leader. Here are 4 highly explosive creative positive leaders. What Van Halen have created is simply beautiful 💙🎼
VH were good, bad, good again, bad again etc but ended in 2015 on a high note. I saw their last show in Hollywood. A childhood dream come true.
Dear Lord wtf
He's absolutely amazing
Imitated but never duplicated
What a strong positive Rock Energy 😀

I own those yellow pants now. 😂 they’re hanging on my wall.
No matter how crazy Ed was on leads he always found his way back and end it. Sweet ending to this lead. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
In an interview he compared it to 'falling down the stairs but landing on your feet' lol.
1988 ,,, All Fired Up !!!!
Naturally Wired is the most underrated hard rock song
Best singer ever ❤️
3:05 Eddie yells at Sammy “Hey man, stop dancing and get your ass back to the mic!”
still can't get how Ed is playing the keyboard and guitar parts on guitar simultaneously. GOAT!
I remember they did a hot summer nights tour in 93 came through okc and opened with this song
This is one of the Best songs they did since 5150 Alex Drumming Ian amazing and Eddie ! And Mikes backing vocals are incredible and Eddie !! We Miss you!!
Better than the studio version. Love Ed’s tone here!
My Hero's.
"Heroes" (learn to spell).
Alex just kicks ass
So much better with Sammy. He took the band to an entirely new level or energy, musicianship, and he would actually sing!
Sammy continues performing.
Okay...... but Dave had the better songs.... and more of them.
@@bobabooey4537 Couldn't disagree more.
Each individual is my hero......RIP Ed 🌹
ao VIVO ou no estúdio a Qualidade desses caras é sem precedentes!
I've seen my share of V&H video's & this takes the top spot.
Love
Off of OU812. Great album. VH were at the top of their game. RIP EVH.
I just got out of the Marine Corps about 6 months prior and bought a house in the country. When my wife and kids were gone I blasted this shit. My closest neighbor was maybe 300 yards away
People can say what they want on each era, but there's a reason why all the Hagar albums debut at #1
What is understood doesnt need to be discussed...
VAN HALEN FOREVER
I think Sammy is the best front man. He surpasses them all.
VH forever… ❤

Great video. One of my favorites, the boys were happy.
Awesome video & song! 👏💯🌟❤️👋
I believe this Concert is from Japan '89, Sounds Great
This is killer song live love the drumming on this
Really good
Attention bands of today: it is possible for all members of your band to sing in key all the time. This is proof.
Awesome !!
Definitely an underrated tune!
No it's not

RAWK !
Is it me or is Eddie van halen one of the most underrated guitarists ever
i wouldnt say he's underrated. lol
Err... ya... it's just you! 😉
Not their best album but this and AFU really rocked
Fuck yeahhh \m/
Eddie is just in a frenzy at the end!
thank you
Peak
sahne🤩
EVH plain and simple.
Give me something that's mine all mine!
Thank you!!!!
What do Sammy Hagar and Ronnie James Dio have in common?
They both made kick ass bands better.
nice one
Those pants really show off Sammy's shortcomings.
Maybe besides the 5150 Solo from New Haven this is a second best
VH , at their best.
This is when they were white hot.
👍🏻🤩🤯
Sammy looks a little drunk on this one but it's rad
Wonder who is playing the synth
I think it's superimposed in the background of the performance
Alan Fitzgerald of Night Ranger played on their 1993s "Live: Right Here, Right Now". Don't know if he sat in with them here.
レストアした割に、音が詰まるポイントが幾つかあるな…
Enough said
Let's see Jimi or Clapton do this
Eddie is absolutely the greatest guitar of all time
And on top of that self taught
Vai and JS can't even play like w

With all respect to the people that like this song: it is a chunk of corporate rock shit
Sammy Hagar still sucks.
