Intro 0:10 | Overview / Fame 1:34 | Player Turn Overview 8:24 | Part #1 12:54 Star Wars Outer Rim: amzn.to/2wpIAng Hello Rollers! Join me as we head into the Outer Rim to make our mark on the galaxy! Looking forward to your feedback. Corrections below. Enjoy! #1. Han has a +2 for Hyperdrive so I can move up to 7. #2. 42:30 I needed a critical, I got a hit so I failed this check. I’ll adjust this for the next one S needed!
Bro,Han solo has Piloting and Tech skills only, in 41:34 you roll a blank and a Hit.(that Encounter required a Tactics skill) Supposely if your Character is not Skillful that U required to roll and get a Crit symbol in order to Succeed that Encounter. Please do forgive me if I am wrong.
Thanks for watching and the feedback my friend! Be sure to check the pinned comment as well in case any are mentioned there. See you around the channel! 😄
During game play you had made mention you wanted to get a better Ship for Han but the GX1 ship at 5000 was not worth it. With the Bartering rule, buying a ship sort of protects that amount of money when you are wanting to buy a new ship, if you are defeated your money is in that ship (losing 3,000). All ships must be bartered when buying a new ship. So the GX1 would count as 5000 credits in hand when buying a new ship. I guess ships don't depreciate in value flying off the lot =) So if you saw a 15,000 ship in market and owned the GX1 that 15,000 future ship would only need 10,000 credits plus your GX1 ship bartered.
I've been looking at this game for a while and wasn't to sure on it but this play through has definitely made up my mind it's a must have and being a big star wars fan definitely adds to lure of the game
Just wanted to mention that on 20:20 when Lando is moving, he would actually end up on the planet Ryloth. Reason is that he would actually move from his starting point and go up through Tatooine and then towards and past Ryloth as this way would take him 1 step closer to his destination. However, if the AI ever overshoots a planet by one or two steps when moving, he would always stop on that planet.
Fantastic video, as always. Just picked up the game (along with Unfinished Business) and can’t wait to get into some solo play. Thank you for all you do in helping other solo players really understand how to play!
Thanks Darren! That's my sole aim. ;D I picked up the Outer Rim Folded Space insert at PAX that allows for the expansion as well. Excited to build that!
@@RollingSolo Awesome! I’m actually looking for a good organizer - one that holds both the base game and the UB expansion (sleeved). Heard that one may be a bit tight with sleeves no?
Thanks for posting these videos. You do a great job explaining the rules. I just bought the game off Amazon. Been playing it on table top simulator just to get a feel for the game. But I prefer a physical copy of the game.
Great explanation of the game 27:45 good point to remember about only moving a patrol if you buy a market card as opposed to discarding it. I wonder if a houserule could make the game more dynamic to move the patrol regardless.
That’s the beauty of it being your game! House rule away as needed. I don’t play with house rules unless a game is a sandbox (Shadows of Brimstone) or has a rule that make no sense (Zombicide; hitting survivors before enemies in the same space with ranged weapons every time).
@@RollingSolo yeah I solo about all my games so I houserule most of them in some cases to speed it up without breaking it. in a couple cases turning the components into a completely different game and better than the actual game imho
42:30 i guess you need a critical. You have no tactic skills. The "hit" is not enough to pass this test. Or i am wrong? Btw, cool game and awesome video
Enjoying the playthrough, I do like the AI playing as a player. The game mechanics appear sound and easy to follow. I think you failed that test as you rolled a hit and needed a critical because you were unskilled, easy to miss when your playing a game for the first time, and even harder if your recording it as well :) Thanks Adam.
If you’re playing solo you need to use the A.I deck to control the other player. When playing two (human) players you don’t need the A.I deck. Hope this helps!
Great play through, but shouldn't Han have given a +2 to his ships hyper drive? Also on the huts tactics test, han failed (you rolled a hit but he is unskilled and needed a critical).
I really like the look of this game and have pre-ordered it, I do have a concern though. The market decks look quite thin, as in not many cards in each, is that the case or is it just the angle of the camera. If there are as few cards as it looks, I'd think you would go through them quite quickly, especially in higher player counts, same with the planet encounter cards ?
Hey! I can see this concern, the decks range from 10-20 cards depending. It’s similar to Eldritch Horror. I wouldn’t be surprised if these grow over time. The playthrough should also help with seeing how much we go through. The Databank deck is quite large and that’s where another chunk of the narrative elements are involved.
Great video and thanks for this! I’m also really enjoying your play through of middle earth right now! Just a question about discarding market cards. I noticed you didn’t return these to the bottom of the deck but in ffg playthrough they seemed to putting them back under the deck when they discarded. What’s the rule there? Thanks again!
I would like to see already a Star Wars game, with the magnitude of Mage Knight at least. With a huge universe map, lots of choices, interesting mechanics, ships, not just a simple pick up and deliver game witch trying to sell it self only because it has printed Star Wars characters on the standees. But thats just me. The playtrough is outstanding as usual. I wonder who makes that intro videos?
@@RollingSolo Khmm :-) Actually i had thoughts about it. We will see. Also i didn't meant to be rude, but i expected a little more from a company this big as it is. I know its not easy to make a game like this but its a huge company with a lot of designers. This game would suffice, if would be the first game of a new company but thats not the case. Boardgames market started to be weary "diluted".
I didn’t take your comment as rude. I thought it would be a great idea. Besides Xia which I’m not particularly fond of in terms of looks and mechanics. There isn’t a great solo space exploration game that I could point to as a great one. Still holding out hope someone makes one!
Finally getting it to the table so am rewatching. Question on Solo's card he has a hyperdrive 2 so should you not have been able to fly 2 spots farther each time? Thanks
I noticed than Han has what looks like a +2 Hyperdrive at the top of his card. Does that add 2 to how far you move or something else. Also with your unskilled check you rolled a hit but I thought only Crits worked if you are unskilled.
Your output of play throughs is awesome ...but given the number that you do ...may I ask if you get chance to actually revisit many of the games you do the play throughs for ? Ric
Hey Ric! Thanks for the feedback. It takes quite a bit of work to cover a game. I’d love to return to some of my favs in the future but there always seems to be more new games to look into. I like the idea of doing a revisit every now and then. Would be fun!
Rolling Solo sorry I actually meant do you play socially any if the games you do play throughs for ...just showing a demo of the game hardly gives you chance to really grasp some of a games nuances I think most games don’t shine until after several play throughs especially some of FFGs games ...with luck my copy of this game is arriving in the morning ...so thx for getting this up very quickly ...did you order or doing an update to Tainted Grail especially with the new rule changes ?
Apart from the couple of mistakes (its a new game after all) loving your vids on this and can't wait for my pre order. Have you thought about covering FFGs Fallout? The win condition is odd for multiplayer but it doesn't affect solo play.
Hey Matt! I already have a Showcase for Fallout. Search for it on the channel ;) The two errors I made are in the pinned comment but good eye! Hope to see you around ;)
Where do you get those great looking play mat's for your table top I would love to get one that looks like the gloomhaven map. Love the video by the way this game is looking good.
Hey Jason! So far the feel is there. Depends on the level of immersion you’re looking for. Hopefully the videos can flush that out when we see contacts and the databank more!
@@RollingSolo I will more than likely order this, I am also thinking it's going to have an X-wing feel to it as well. I am fairly sure FFG have targeted this to some point at X-Wing players. Certainly, the inclusion of X-Wing compatible dice mechanics will raise some interest. Edit: Wonder if X-wing ships are small enough to use on this instead of the standees. hard to tell looking at the video. The ship bases may be an issue.
Well I officially hate you! I was pretty much thinking I didn’t need this game but after seeing your playthrough I just preordered it! Stop making games look so fun!
There is only one AI deck. But there would be nothing stopping you from putting another deck together and house ruling the very rare rules between AI characters. Cheers!

That means a lot coming from a pro.
when playing 2 player do you have to play with the A.I. deck?
If you’re playing solo you need to use the A.I deck to control the other player. When playing two (human) players you don’t need the A.I deck. Hope this helps!
I'm liking your playthrough, giving me a better impression than some of the other playthroughs that I've watched. Still not fully onboard yet.
Hey Eric! Glad to hear that. Hope the playthrough helps you make an informed decision either way. Cheers!

Remember there are also a lot of items/crew in the encounter decks
This game is obviously built for expansions. And I believe this game will really open up once there is more of it.

Hey Jefferey! The LOTR was a lot of fun to do. I’ll clarify your question and what happens at the start of the next video. Great observation :)
That's great thanks. I was concerned that removing cards from already thin-ish decks might make it harder to find jobs, etc. @@RollingSolo

I just noticed that the routes between the tiles aren't matching in all case, can you confirm that or it is because of the camera angle?
They all match up! Just a camera angle thing I believe. Cheers!
Are the tiles placed in a premade sequense everytime? No random tile placement att setup?
