After watching the breakdown (I have no experience with guitars whatsoever) i realized just how complicated playing the guitar like this really is. I never thought about it this way, I kind of assumed you were just plucking a few strings but i was SOOOOO wrong! I now have a much higher respect for BVB and their music

Hi, Jake. I know you're probably thinking of doing your lesson more of the new songs from BvB4, but man, the entire world of rock needs you to give us the Set The World on Fire lesson!!! Please, we all need it :) I know there are some versions out there in the internet, but there's nothing like being able to learn every single note in the guitar part coming from who created it. Please!!!
Jake, what do you use to make the guitar to sound specifically like that?

Learn a pentatonic scale . The e minor one is pretty easy . Also I'd try to learn bar chords
I'm an intermediate guitar player. I guess I wasn't clear enough in the other comment. But my picking hand is pretty fast and synchronized but I have trouble increasing the speed in my left hand. Is there any more tips that you can offer...Please. Im sorry if I'm asking to much.

This song had me sold in the first ten seconds, solid guitar work, I love the heaviness this song has to the palm mutes, As I am a guitarist myself, I have been having a difficult time learning this, especially the solo and those little licks, However this video has helped me immensely, Wish you guys would have played this at Warped Tour Toronto this year, Still a great show never the less though, keep rocking guys, You're an amazing band. And keep rippin' shit on that guitar man. Any tips, pointers/suggestions for this song?
Oh man, ur a legend. Ive been playing for a roughly 5 months, but only acoustic. I can play knives and pens (acoustic version XD), carolyn, and savior (atleast those are all the bvb songs i know) but im finally getting an electric for christmas, and imma practice my butt off until im as good as u jake. Thx for inspiring me :3

Just practice, and practice, and practice. Those songs require a lot of finger picking, so I would focus on that.
Awesome! But from my experience (with only rebel love song) songs are pretty difficult. But a good song to learn on electric would be In the End. It fun and easy. Rock on mate!

Btw your rifs are awesome and i love the Lead Guitar Work during the chorus, simply and good....About your new solos in this BVB 4 Album.. I didn't like them,instead i love "mini solos" (like In The End) or the Set The World on fire solos.
My favorite solos from BVB are Rebel Love Song and Legacy, You've great skill and I hope the next solo that i'll listen to will be better than Faithless and Heart Of Fire solos!

Jake, seeming as you're an expert with guitars, I'm about to start getting serious with my band and I've been playing since I was 13 (I'm now 18!) and was wondering whether either to get a Schecter-C1 or a BC Rich Mockingbird Pro X for my next guitar purchase (upgrading), and was wondering, seeming as you've played both, which one would be worth getting, and why? :) Loved you guys since the first album and you're one of my biggest guitar influences! Hope to hear from you pretty soon :)
