    17.4 Miles - 5 hours, 36 minutes
Well what a day that was! What was supposed to be 11 miles turned into a 17+ mile mudfest! I knew this was going to be a challenging day, but this exceeded my expectations! I'm so proud of myself for getting through it though.
I am running the coast of Britain to raise money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association in support of my mum, who was diagnosed in 2010. The link to my Just Giving Page is:

Thank you for your continued support :-)

Living close to where you are walking here I know how the so called Coastal Path often fades away and follows inland roads for long stretches as you can not get across several inland waterways. Wish you luck as you head for Barrow.

Oh blimey, that looked tough. Very well done for not getting disheartened and getting through, you're a tough cookie. Best of luck for the rest of your journey 👍

As you said when crossing those planks, 'kinell! A challenge but you rose to it with humour.Waterproof Gaffa tape will fix your trousers. I laughed when you mentioned the firing range: you looked like you'd already been shot at.Lol!

Haha thank you! I tried the gaffer tape but it wouldn't stick? Maybe it was the wrong type?

That was tough going but you made it through in the end. I hope the next stage is on better ground with a well defined route.

You said you didn't enjoy road walking but i think you would have enjoyed it more than going through that swamp, i think the gods were looking down on you at the end when the footpath was closed off and you had to walk the road.

@@runningbritain l think you have got to think positive or you wouldn't go back to walk in them conditions, I did Humphrey Head a Outlying Fell before Christmas near Kents Bank Station and had to walk round the headland to get to it and it was similar to what you walked through, not really enjoyable, why I mentioned it I think you will have to go through it when you get that far down.
