Since your stock ECU is out, why not send it to Two Stroke Performance (or one of their distributors) and get it reflashed. I'd like to see a comparison between the TSP reflash and head (which is cheaper) and the GET ECU (which is more expensive). I'm hearing great things about the TSP kit.
Totally agree. That would allow for a good balanced review and comparison. Only issue is that maybe the ECU map is modified specifically for the Injector Relocation etc? I have the TSP ECU and med head and it's brilliant.
Interesting... But I was expecting something considerably different for the amount of money this kit costs and because it relocates the injectors. Unless there's significant proof of gains on a dyno, the only advantage I can see of this kit is because now you can actually run pre-mix without damage. Well...if running pre-mix didn't prove to be harmful to the injectors.
Hey Great video, really liked seeing how the bike pulled up that hill at such a low rpm. I’ve just got a new to me TPI and it’s got a stutter at 0-1/8 throttle, I’ve played with the air bypass a bunch and it’s helped but not cleaned it up yet. Wondering if you have found that these aftermarket fuelling solutions help with the lower throttle inputs and help clean up the bottom end of these TPIs. Looking at the GET and TSP kits. Cheers
I tried the RED spring yesterday and really like it. The power is still smooth and linear, just stronger. I left the preload adjuster at the same setting (PV starts to open at 5,500rpm) and richened up fueling. Bike ran great.
iHey, great video, many thanks for sharing! Just one fast question. Is there a noticeable difference between get ecu and the race kit (I 'm on a 2019 tpi)
Great video. Looks like an amazing place to ride. I appreciate you showing how the bike lugs, so important in really technical riding areas. I do have a question, does your current setup include the rk tek head as well? If so, did you use a richer setting to compensate for the additional compression? Can you increase how much oil is pumped in addition to managing how much fuel? Sorry for so many questions...
Pleased that you enjoyed watching the video. Yes, I have an RK Tek head installed. I added the RK Head as the first major mod and initially used it with the stock ECU and found that it ran really well: ua-cam.com/video/Z4gc23ZfdF8/v-deo.html In my latest video I'm using the RK Tek head, GET Race Kit, RED PV Spring and richened up the fueling. As you can probably tell the bike lugs very well. Power is strong but still linear and easy to control: ua-cam.com/video/WFa1irrng7s/v-deo.html
I'm currently using an RK Tek head and FMF Gnarly pipe. As mentioned in the video my PV is set to start opening at 5500rpm and I'm still running the stock yellow spring. Plan to try the RED spring next and see how that feels.
First of all the cons: it's expensive, requires installation & setup and only works with the stock KTM OEM reed valve (I prefer the construction quality & reliability of VForce). The pros I value are: improved performance, during initial setup it's easy to adjust fueling while out riding with smartphone app and tweak to your own preference (ignition timing can also be adjusted), traction control works and helps in slippery conditions, oil injection quantity is significantly more than stock possibly resulting in higher reliability of engine, injector relocation to before reed valve allows use of premix (delete oil pump- dongle required) if so desired. I'm still using the kit and much prefer it over stock.
@@TokyoOffroad Agreed, its a high price to pay to make a new bike run as it should. The option to tune is what it tempting me coming from a carburetor bike.

@@TokyoOffroad good to hear. My 2020 te 300i was flawless from the dealer, sportrider map from new. That said, i wanted to try coober ecu and it made the bike more torquer and smooth.
@Tokyo Offroad Do you have an update after a month? Still running the GET kit? How does it compare to reflashed ecu? I have a bad studder in the mid range. Looking to clean that up and get bike as smooth as possible without adding power.
Yes, still using it. I did a two day ride this weekend and the bike ran flawlessly. It’s running very well, make good power from bottom to top. In a responsive but linear way. Power off the bottom is good making it easy to lift the front wheel just using throttle. 3 other TPI riders also rode it to compare to there stock bikes and were impressed how responsive it feels compared to their bikes. The big difference to an ECU flash is the you can make adjustments to the timing and fuel maps yourself using the GET App on your smartphone.

@Tokyo Offroad hello, congratulations for the video, I live in Italy and I have a KTM EXC 300 2018, the bike, unlike the 2020/21 models, does not have an altitude sensor, and to reset the control unit when I climb a lot, I have to turn the bike off and on again , with this GET you have to do the same operation anyway ?? or does it reset automatically while the bike is going ??
Altitude compensation on the 2018/19 model can only be done when the engine isn't running due to there only being one pressure sensor, even if a GET ECU is used.
