I am glad you persisted and got value from the exercise. It sounds like you were able to work through some deep-rooted material. Wonderful to hear. I understand that some people might find the exercises too fast, and others too slow. There does not appear to be any single right answer to this. However I have recently begun re-releasing this series as extended versions on the sister podcast on Spotify: Make it Conscious - Inner Work Exercises. This exercise too will be re-released as an extended version in time with longer pauses. Thanks again for doing the work and well done. Feel free to continue to comment and ask questions.
Thanks a lot, this worked amazing. No music, just your voice, perfect. First time that it actually worked, me trying on my own was not very successful. Thanks
That's wonderful to hear... glad this exercise helped you get to the bottom of your query. Yes having music during meditation I find can distract from the messages trying to come up from the unconscious. Active imagination is not always easy, but it is worthwhile. Well done for having the bravery to complete the Shadow Child exercise.
Thank you for this video I tried to enter the house but I was initially stopped by my father who was pushing the door on me I eventually managed to get in and when I saw my inner child I felt goosebumps all over my body and started getting emotional
Well done for trying this exercise. This is a challenging one and you’ve shown great courage in confronting this difficult material within yourself. Your experience of becoming emotional when meeting your Shadow Child is a common one, and points to further areas for inner work. However just by doing this exercise, you have already made great progress in this area. Often, simply the experience of the exercise can yield great benefits. Although subsequent reflection is also important. Your father attempting to block your entry to the house is significant. However it is important to note that this was not your actual father, but your own mind rendering the appearance of your father, representing an aspect of yourself. In future, if something resembling a real person appears in active imagination, you can try politely asking them to change form into another image or, alternatively, not engaging with them at all. It’s important to only work with figures that do not reflect real, living people. As a next step, you could perform this exercise again when you feel ready. The emotion you experienced upon seeing your Shadow Child is also calling for further enquiry, either in this exercise or through Emotional Integration Meditation. You can try the extended EIM here: ua-cam.com/video/61SE-FBlxOY/v-deo.html There are also 98+ guided active imagination and meditation exercises on this channel, for you to use as needed. Strength to you, and feel free to continue sharing your experiences.
@@makeitconscious thank you for taking the time out to reply and for the tips , currently reading inner work by Robert Johnson it’s a great introductory book. Thanks for the link I have subscribed and will definitely check out your other works .
That's a great resource for beginning an active imagination practice. I am planning to release some educational content around active imagination in the not too distant future, including guidance on how to practice unguided. Enjoy the exercises in the meantime... Awesome... well done for completing the exercise and glad to hear it was insightful. I will certainly continue releasing exercises. They're all also going to be re-released gradually as extended versions on the sister podcast. Thank you for the comment and keep going!
Great Svjetlana, wonderful to hear the Shadow Child exercise helped you access some powerful insights. This can be a particularly challenging one and potentially involves exploring some deep and painful material. Well done for completing it. It can be a good idea to journal the experience and continue to reflect on it. New insights may continue to appear over time and as you bring them into daily life. Thank you for the comment and feedback.
I was already being digging into that my topic, so surprise was how clear come to me, really great technique. I am happy you are sharing it with us, the world need you to keep doing it
That's lovely feedback, thank you. It can be quite incredible what appears from the unconscious during active imagination. When we are surprised by what appears, it's not only a sign that we have successfully engaged with some unconscious material, but also serves as an important reminder into the nature of mind in general. The same can be said about practice of the divination arts, which are also powerful tools for bringing unconscious material to the surface. This exercise for the Shadow Child was in fact inspired by a tarot spread I configured for insight into the same area. Using both in parallel can be quite powerful. It is true that much of our world is walking around in a deeply traumatised state today, carrying around a mass of unresolved feeling and shadow material. But this is not easy to see if one is traumatised themselves. Thankfully, there is a growing awareness and understanding of the unconscious mind, as well as material becoming available for when people are willing and ready to walk the path. I've tried many different approaches to improving the state of my life and mind, and have come to believe that most of our challenges both personal and societal can be chalked up to a disconnection from ourselves. I will certainly continue releasing content to encourage responsibility and facilitate the discovery of self-knowledge, as well as coaching both one-on-one and groups. Thank you for the kind words and encouragement. See you around 🙂
The meditation is too visually focussed too quick. Without bringin g you too a deeper state. I see nothing because my brainwaves arent there yet. Bit frustrating. 7 min in, will try to continue.
Very helpful- thanks. I am using your material in conjunction with dialogue with my subconscious mind using active imagination as guided by Robert A Johnston. I’m amazed at the dialogue that takes place 😊 I used this video which was very helpful: ua-cam.com/video/Cyih4IAJ8bQ/v-deo.htmlsi=gZlWWK5hyKsTkEXC
Hi there and thank you for the positive feedback on the channel. It can certainly be amazing to witness the dialogue unfold, in a way totally unexpected to the conscious mind. There are powerful lessons to glean both into the nature of our mind and mind in general. I’m familiar with the method recommended by Robert Johnson. Brynnium explains it very well in his video. I also practice active imagination both guided and unguided, and use both journalling methods. Most of the time however I journal afterwards, remaining immersed in the experience. Sometimes there is greater benefit to be found in the experience itself, sometimes in the subsequent interpretation. These are all valid ways of engaging in a two-way dialogue with the unconscious mind, practiced by various Jungians. I think there is a place for all, often even within one individual’s practice. I am planning to release some more material on how to practice unguided. This morning I recorded a more freeform exercise with less guidance and no specified focus. It's due to be published in a week. It’s great that you are engaging with your unconscious sincerely. Keep exploring and maybe I'll see you around 🙂.
I'll take your opinion into consideration. There is a place for exercises with pauses of various lengths. Many people have found this exercise to be paced just right for them. I am however planning to re-release these UA-cam exercises as extended audio-only podcasts, starting this month.

My shadow child took me to my childhood home and showed me through feelings and her own images her messages. TY ❤

I stopped the meditation just about the same time as you. My imagination can’t conjure imagery like this; I only found this frustrating.
