Thank you so much for sharing, this is exactly the look I want to achieve! Most balyage tutorials are quite bold and striking, so it's amazing to find a more subtle, natural looking one! Now I need to pluck up the courage to do this on my hair...
Yes, like many others on here thank you for the very thorough explanation of how to apply bleach to hair in the most natural, subtle, and least damaging way that I've seen so far. I'm not a natural blond but what to try this myself and can't afford to pay a professional, I simply don't make enough money for this high-end, on-trend hair procedure. Though the video quality is not the best this IS one of the most subtle and natural looking balayage techniques that I've seen, exactly what I"m seeking. I do not want stark blond or too much contrast, I think this may possibly be my go-to for hiding those pesky grays coming in also. Thank you!
Thank you for such a straightforward simple tutorial! It’s Spring of 2020 and I’ve started doing my own hair out of necessity since we’re all restricted. I’ve never cut/bleached/colored my hair by myself before. Hoping for the best 🤞🏼
Thank you so much for sharing it looks beautiful! Only it was a little hard to see because the light was shining right at the camera LOL. Great technique I’m going to try it on my hair.
Which do you really think is best, especially for someone who is not a professional, the comb, or the paddle brush? Both looked beautiful from afar, and my problem is how to do the very top layer.
Do you recommend just going in with a 40 volume or gradually lighten the hair? I've had my hair ombré before and the girl who did it went straight in with a 60 vol and my hair felt like a corn husk doll I'm scared that will happen again. Also, this is the best tutorial I've seen for this technique!
Hey wondering if you could do a video on the ponytail ombre bleaching process that you done but then how to change that bleached to colour and not affect the dark area of the hair. Plzzzzzz cant find a viedo any where! And I followed your viedo on the pony tail technique turn out brilliantly thanks so much 😘
thanks for video. so helpful. my question is do i need to change the brush and comb for each client or by washing with water i can get ride the color of??
Cool technique. It seems like it would be good for a service upgrade. Except, are you positive the hair won't break off, even though you're combing lightener in the hair over and over again.
what does the aveda color viscosity add to the mix? I'm not wanting to order a $20+ bottle to dye my hair one time unless it's completely necessary. Plus I'm excited and want to buy my materials and do it tonight. *also my hair is a natural auburn w/no previous dye, am I going to need a toner & a 40 volume to get the blond without copper?
You parted the hair in the middle for the front. If I part my hair to the side, should I section it off that way? Also, my hair is to my neck. It's growing out from a bob style cut. I'm guessing id section it off the way you have for the back. I'm doing this myself. DIY'er lol. Thanks :)
hey, i loved this video it was so helpful!! i have a few questions though, say I dyed my hair from black to dark brown first, then I wanted to do light brown ash balayage on top of that, would this technique still work? i seee that the mannequins hair went to a blonde, but im guessing thats because it's hair is much lighter? any tips would be appreciated :)
Hi and thank you so much! The mannequin's hair did start off lighter, and was not previously colored. You can still use this technique, it may not be as light and you will need a toner to make your desired end result more ashy. I'm almost positive you will get a warmer tone after you have processed this on your hair with having color on your hair already. I hope that helps.
If I want to go a bit darker with my hair before, can I go right in to this technique soon after coloring? Right now my hair is pretty light brown to dirty blonde.
Great question... Yes you can. You would just need to make sure you use 40 vol developer. You may not get super light if you are going over color that was just pulled through to your ends. It will be pretty though.

Christy Bruski hi can you tell whats the base color?

This actually really good. The best tutorial I've seen. Gorgeous results! Love it!
Wow! Thank you so much. I really appreciate it. I truly enjoy educating and helping anyone that I can.

I want your hair colour looks amazing

The brush on can look a little more diffused, giving a more blended effect. Thank you

If your hair is compromised I would gradually lighten the hair. The health of your hair is most important.

I'm going to try this with a burgandy dye. Hopefully it works.
thanks for video. so helpful.

You can wash it or change brushes/combs...
Cool technique. It seems like it would be good for a service upgrade. Except, are you positive the hair won't break off, even though you're combing lightener in the hair over and over again.
Thank you. The hair will not break off. I have used this on my guests numerous times and achieved great results. Great question though!
Thanks, Christy! Also, can you get dramatic, sun-kissed highlights with this method?
+Jose Rivera The comb on Balayage will give you more of a dramatic look. I still believe you need to use 30 or 40 vol with this technique.
I just love this video!

I add about 8 drops in a 60 gram mixture.
Can I do this with a colour application on light brown hair ? I want a chocolate colour

Gorgeous😍
+kgcc Thank you so much. I appreciate it!!
Waw gorgeous 😍 and how much time do you have to wait until you wash it?!
Awwww. Thank you so much. I let it process for a full 45 minutes.
Could this technique work for lowlights? Thank you 😊
Would the brush or comb technique work using a darker shade to do a lowlight balayage?
Katrina Costedio I was thinking of doing that as well. I think it would work with lowlights as well.

Hi! Do you always use two different brushes? Or can you use a paddle brush for the whole thing?
You can use one brush if you would like. wanted to have a variation and try to see the results. Thank you
