Sod Roofed Cabin - Polson, Montana
Roger paints on location at the Miracle of America Museum. Using acrylics he starts by blocking out the composition with charcoal then roughly blocking in the large shapes first for the paintings foundation, an essential step before refinement and details are added. Roger finishes the painting back in his studio with the addition of a couple of hounds and machinery for interest. The founder of the museum shows Sarah the inside of the cabin built in 1898 with its dirt floor and furnishings from a previous century.
