Some ass broken the small window in my car, unlocked the door but must have ran when the alarm went off. I live on the other side of the parking lot and, yeah, no one on the side of the parking lot where my car was heard or saw anything. I want to buy this for the "vibration" notification alert. Can you test it and see if you get an alert if the car door is opened? I wouldn't ask you to check and see if you get an alert if your window is broken, lol. Thank you very much if you would!!!! Loved your review.
There is a reason for writing a simple script to keep track of what info you want to show. It also helps keep you from rambling on and on boring the crap out of viewers.
Great review. It would be nice if someone made a different cover for the tracker that disguised the name "Carlock" so the label wouldn't tip off a car thief that the car was being tracked. Maybe I can make my own even if it is just a blank cover.
If you have an old iphone, use that, via find my friends, and set it to notify when moves, or use find my iphone instead, or ebay sell little trackers for less than £15 just need a sim card. Surely, when the thieves steal your car, they usually use the obd port, as soon as they see the carlock unit, they will unplug it and throw it away. You forgot to mention the annual subscription.
FACTS! I got an iPhone 11 and bought an iPhone 6 for $120 and I have it added to my monthly plan for $15 extra dollars. I keep it in my truck for music and stuff and in case someone breaks and steals my truck. We’ve had a couple of car jackers in my neighborhood lately.
Yeah but i want one for my car that i only use on weekends. I cant have a phone go flat then when someone turns it on, the phone starts charging. Unless the phone doesnt need to be on then it would work
Say you don't pay for the monthly fee and let the subscription lapse but leave it plugged in and your car gets stolen. Can you resubscribe and then see where the car is? I'm looking for something that is more or less a tracker in case it gets stolen.
no. there is no reason for the company to store car data for an ex subscriber. They may allow a few days grace period for late payment at the end of the agreed contract but after that its a paper weight !
So if they see this (in your jeep they probably will) and unplug it, chuck it out the window. How does it help? I can see this working great if it was installed somewhere more hidden. Some pros will change out the computer to steal vehicles (in Chevy trucks, prob more). I want something like this that will limit speed to no more then 5 mph over speed limit. GPS's are great at telling you what the speed limit is, and are very accurate. So this should be possible. I would buy it if they did do that when my son starts driving. It could help on Insurance, but more my peace of mind!
it also tells you if someone unplugs it... so thieves looking to use the port to clone a key you would be alerted which is the only reason I think I will buy one.
What a joke this isn’t going to stop a thief! The only thing this could be good for is keeping track of employees driving company vehicles. As far as kids go they will unplug it and tell there parents it must of just fell out.
I have a question. Why nobody of you guys does not show what happens when someone tries to remove the device. Every car thief can remove it first thing when enters the car. Why nobody showing that???
does it function as a kill switch? either preventing start or stopping the car once running? The biggest flaw I see with it is Car Lock right on the front of the device. It should be nondescript.
What the fuck would make you think it was that easy to do? It alerts you if any major vibration happens. These devices, are capable of alerting you if a tennis ball hits your window.

Is that the best idea having it saying carlock on the obd2? If I was a thief I would just pull that off.
Same thing I was thinking🤔
Dumbass design's and ofcourse the youtuber never replied to you smh.
Lol the alarm goes off when it’s removed
I just keep a hidden spare phone inside the vehicle with internet plan. I can track the vehicle anywhere without anyone knowing
what about power source ?
Khaled Alsharm i guess open a USB port that’s hidden and plug it
Likewise my man! Got 2 phones 1 for personal and other for the cars music gps and kids hotspot.

+Shane Parker good question, I don't see why not, but that would be something to ask the company directly

It does not.
Put I piece of tape over it🤨
@@jameswilson9966 Exactly what I was thinking
Can you unlock the doors through app?
So basically whoever steals the car that knows what they are doing has to just remove the device?
What the fuck would make you think it was that easy to do? It alerts you if any major vibration happens. These devices, are capable of alerting you if a tennis ball hits your window.
@@moderaterevolution504 😆🤣
Ummm isn't this supposed to be anti theft?
Andre Jones you get to see where your stolen car went I guess. I thought it was a lock or alarm at first...
Nice job describing it...
Where can a person get this installed? If I buy this. I'm not good with cars.
Truthfully, just plug it in! Unless your car is older, you will have this port on your vehicle and it should work as soon as you plug it in.
techgooch does it have a no start feature so that the car can't be started?
It needs to be locked to the OBD port. Otherwise a thief could just toss it. USELESS unless the thief is an idiot.
Youre the idiot. It alerts you if any vibration is detected.
Alguien me puede ayudar con información yo tengo el dispositivo pero quiero activarlo
Do I have to pay to use it?
+Clee4000 there is a subscription to use it, yes
+techgooch:
That's really stupid? I already paid for the product. Now I have to pay to use it.
