Autel LITE - First Flight Test - Autel's low light RYYB version
Вставка
- Опубліковано 4 лис 2024
- This video is a first flight video test of the Autel Lite drone which has a RYYB camera sensor similar to the Autel Nano+ drone although the specifications are slightly different. This is not the Autel Lite+ drone which has been out for many months now. The Lite's RYYB camera sensor should have an amazing low light capability that far exceeds what you would expect from a drone in its' price range, similar to the outstanding low light capability of the Autel Nano+.
Autel has two Nano drones (Nano & Nano+) and two Lite drones (Lite & Lite+), each with different cameras. The Nano series is a sub-250g drone and the Lite series is a bigger version with better wind capability.
If you follow my channel you will know that Nano+ camera is amazing. I am interested to see if the Autel Lite also has an amazing camera, since they both have RYYB sensors (but slightly different).
The late afternoon shots were taken last week using 4K 30FPS HDR auto camera mode. The bridge and city shots were taken tonight using 4K 30FPS normal colour in manual mode.
This video has been edited as I wanted to see how it would compare to my other drone videos.
I was going to test and compare the Autel Nano+ tonight however it was a bit too windy for the tiny Autel Nano+. The Autel Lite handled the wind easily.
What do you think of this new drone? I will do more tests and comparisons over the next few weeks. Also I paid for this drone myself.
I hope you like this video and thanks for watching, Brett - Gizmo Drones

Safety: I also flew within the allowed drone hours. Daylight is approximately 30 minutes before sunrise and 30 minutes after sunset. See the OpenSky or equivalent drone app for actual times based on the location and day of year.
Note: Please note that I flew safely and within the drone flight rules. I check for other aircraft and stay low (tree top height) or land if there are low aircraft nearby, otherwise no higher than 120m and no closer than 5.5km to a controlled airport, no closer than 30m to people, no flights over people or crowds, keep the drone in line of site and controlled safely, no flights at night. See the following website for details www.casa.gov.a...
I have a RePL drone license and insured.

Cool 😎 sunset views 👍
Thanks so much, I have another toy to play with :)
First Flight Test
Excellent photography
Beautiful sharing 🌷
Thanks so much, I am looking forward to comparing it to the Nano+. Cheers
Beautiful. This footage could be used in a top tier movie with no problem.
Thanks so much, I prefer longer shots myself and Melbourne always looks amazing. Cheers
This looked fantastically sharp and clear in 4k full screen. My eyes really traveled all over the scenes. Just Wow!
Thanks so much, I'm glad. I must get a 4K screen to check it for myself, mine is only 2.7K.
I’m a Air2s and mavic 3 owner…this is fantastic
Thanks so much. If you like low light shots then the Autel Lite or Nano+ is your drone :)
always a pleasure 🙃
Thanks so much, I appreciate it 😊
muy bueno. mi like y mi suscripción.👍👍👍👍
Muchas gracias, lo aprecio. Voy a ver tu canal :)
I was so close to buying the Autel Lite+ came out and this video shows my suspicions were correct! Good flight and footage! 👍
I had the same thought as you. I also suspect the Nano+ may be slightly better in low light based on the pixel size difference, I am looking forward to doing a comparison test. It was too windy for the Nano+ when I took the bridge shots. I have also emailed Autel to confirm if the pixel size difference is correct.
Amazing shots Brett.
You now have the ultimate prize in medium sized camera drones.
An outstanding camera on a high performance aircraft.
No consumer drone camera comes close to the capability of this RYYB filter & sensor.
True!
Thanks so much, I am enjoying testing this awesome drone. It was announced last year and is finally available. It flies really well and the camera is amazing. I am looking forward to doing a direct comparison to the Autel Nano+. Now I have the two best drones; Nano+ for travel or high risk areas and Lite for windy places, vertical shooting or longer flight times.
@@GizmoDrones And true!
Well done! this video is awesome! Thanks for sharing
Thanks so much, I appreciate it :)
Great flight test, nice footage. The place is beautiful.
Thanks so much, I was happy with the test. I am looking forward to the next test. Cheers
Pretty impressive!👍🏼
Thanks so much. So far so good, I need to compare it the Nano+. Cheers
Looks good for the first flight. 👍🇦🇺
Thanks so much. I am still getting to know this drone. I am looking forward to the next test :)
Your videos are always so cinematic. Such beautiful landscape, day and night. I think you're the only channel I know that switches from day to night. Really cool.
Thanks so much, I try to make it look nice and I really like the contrast between day and night. Have a great weekend :)
Excellent work, very cinematic and great choice of music
Thanks so much, I didn't put a big effort into this video as I was focused on the test but I'm glad the shots turned out OK. Cheers
Wow, amazing quality. I´m looking forward of a comparison with Nano+, thanks for sharing !!
I think the Nano+ will produce better captures because the sensors are bigger. two times bigger.
Thanks so much. I am looking forward to doing a comparison test. I will try to do it this weekend. Cheers
Absolutely fantastic view of the city. I definitely would love to do something like that it some point another great video presentation that you have done
Thanks so much. Melbourne always looks so great and the drone did a great job in low light. Happy flying :)
UPDATE: I emailed Autel and asked what the camera difference is between the Autel Lite and the Autel Nano+ as they both have low light RYYB sensors although they have different pixel sizes. The answer I received was "the Lite has a moonlight algorithm which leads to even better low light performance." Well that sounds promising and I look forward to comparing these two drones. Cheers, Brett - Gizmo Drones
The is BS from Autel! They made a mess about what they have. The Lite + should have the RYYB and not the Lite. The Moon thing is totally BS! Just look at the low light of your Nano+ and you will see is better in low light.
Did u find the moonlight mode, are u sure they wasn't mistaken the lite for the light plus ,as the lite plus has the moonlight mode.
amazing video the colours look fantastic its defo a different look than dji and i like it super footage .great music great edit bud
Thanks so much, I agree it does look different to DJI. I like it. Cheers
You did what you do best!! Amazing colour, such a beautiful cityscape from Drone!
Thanks so much, I appreciate it. Have a nice weekend 😊
Yeah man that’s nice. Love the colours in that orbit. Low light looks really impressive. I think that’s the best drone Autel have released. It looks as though they have sorted out the colour profile problem which has plagued previous cameras. That’s 1 inch adjustable aperture yeah?
Thanks so much. Autel's naming is a bit confusing as the Lite+ has a 1" sensor and the Lite has a 1/1.28 inch sensor 50MP fixed f/1.9, same as the Nano+ but its pixel size is half of the Nano+. I suspect the Nano+ is slighter brighter in the dark but I will confirm when I do a proper comparison. The Nano+ and Lite have much better out-of-the-box colours and white balance compared to the Evo 2 Pro. You can use the footage straight out of the camera. Cheers
Hello Gizmo Drones! This is amazing! Thanks for the very nice video! I saw it with great interest! Great job! Have a nice day!
Thanks so much, I had fun playing with this new drone. Have a nice weekend 😊
Awesome videos as usual. I got chills watching this video.
Thanks so much, I had fun playing with this new drone. Have a nice weekend 😊
What a incredible scenery....
Thanks so much, I appreciate it 😊
Great colors, outstanding skyline views. You made a great job again man. Night shots are always my fave ones. Very good!! Looking forward to your next upload ;) 👏👏👏
Thanks so much, I had fun playing with this new drone. I like night shots too. Have a nice weekend 😊
Wow. Such a beautiful flight awesome aerial views
Thanks so much, I appreciate it. Have a great weekend 😊
Great flight and city views.
Thanks so much, I had fun playing with this new drone. Have a nice weekend 😊
Stunning colours 👍 Successful test 👍
Thanks so much, the Lite did a great job. But the big test will be when I compare it to the Nano. Hopefully this weekend. Cheers
@@GizmoDrones We will see 🤩
Impressive! But I think the Nano+ has a small advantage with a bigger sensels. Both drones are the best! No other drones in the market to capture like.
I think they have same exact senor
@@keytiger7 My last comment gone. UA-cam does this sometimes. Check the Autel's technical on the Nano+ and Lite. The Nano+ has two times bigger the sensels.
@@InteractiveDNA U are, I correct, I didn't notice it until u pointed it out. To me in this video ar least the nano, seem to do better in the shadows at night and the blacks on the lite seem blacker. Overall in my opinion the nano, plus seem to be better at full darkness.
@@InteractiveDNA Could, do a short video, on the size of the pixels of the 2, because I can see, at difference, at night between the 2. It's noticeable to me, that the nano, has more details in full darkness,
@@keytiger7 The Nano+ will have better luma, chroma and definition because it has bigger sensels, more light means more details and better shadows.
Another beautiful one Gizmo. The views are pretty cool to see. LIKE 56. 👍👍👍👍
Thanks so much, I had fun playing with this new drone. Have a nice weekend 😊
great colours so well made
Thanks so much, I appreciate it 😊
Awesome! That little drone does a great job in low light!
Thanks so much, this new Lite model is as good as the Nano+. Have a nice weekend 😊
Super amazing and outstanding work👍👍👍
Thanks so much for the great feedback :)
Another master piece! 👌
Thanks so much, I had fun playing with this new drone. Have a nice weekend 😊
I used to fly hot air balloons over central Melbourne so this bought back memories!
I'm glad. I've always been fascinated with the balloons over Melbourne. Have you filmed them? I captured some on a recent Melbourne video. Cheers
Looks good buddy! Keep up the good work
Thanks so much, I am having fun testing out this new drone. Cheers
Nice work Gizmo! Keep on your drone work!
Thanks so much, I appreciate the encouragement. Have a great day :)
Great footage Bro 👍
Thanks so much, I appreciate it 😊
Great video my, the lite will be better in the wind for sure, and super long flight time . I have say though it seem the little nano plus camera is a rad bit better in , full darkness. if I'm telling the full truth. This is just my opinion and your first video. but I can see the nano handle the shadows better I can see more details in the shadows in full darkness .The lite seems to make the blacks look more blacker, I'm sure u can turn down the blacks in post, but it may pull in a little noise, or maybe not. But this just my opinion, when u do more videos we shall see, lol.
Yes I agree with you. I did notice a slight difference in low light quality to what I am used to with the Nano+. I tried to recover the dark shadows but there was nothing there. Also in the actual video I made sure the dark areas were gray by raising the low lights however UA-cam compressed it into black. I will know more when I do a direct comparison with the Nano+. Hopefully this weekend. Cheers
@@GizmoDrones Yes I believe that should have put the exact same specs on the lite, but they didn't lol,but it still looked goog
@@GizmoDrones Tip about UA-cam compression! If you render your 30fps at 60fps with 200Mbps UA-cam will encode the footage at the best compression, many don’t know that. Same as streaming, you will be allowed to send higher quality.
Thanks for sharing and have a great day
Thanks so much, I appreciate it. Have a great week 😁
Awesome shots again mate.🤘👌 I have the impression in some scenes at the beginning there is slightly more noise compared to the Nano +. And did you shoot with automatic white balance? I noticed a slight colour change at around 1:10. Or is it just the light changing? The night shots are spectacular and the clarity of the Autel camera sensors seem to be unbeatable at the moment. For sure another great drone regarding the camera performance.
Yes you are right. I used auto camera HDR for the first half of the video and the white balance did shift. Autel should lock the white balance in auto mode or allow manual settings in HDR mode. The second half of the video I used normal colour manual mode which was much better. I suspect the Nano+'s camera might be slightly better but I will confirm when I do a direct comparison. It was too windy for the Nano in this video. The pixel size in the Nano+ is twice the size of the Lite's pixel size. However the Lite still seemed to do a great job. The Lite was nice to fly in the wind. I didn't even feel the wind whereas the Nano+ will slow down or speed up depending on its direction in the wind. I don't why Autel have 4 different cameras in their Nano, Nano+, Lite and Lite+. I would have liked the same camera in the Nano and Lite. Cheers
Fantastic my friend ! 🙂
Thanks so much for the great comment. Have a great week 😁
captain drone said ,this drone has a night mode, can u confirm it does. If it does can u make a video with the night mode thanks friend.
I didn't realize it has night mode; I just checked and it has standard, night and super night. Now I am excited. The weather has very bad but it should be nice in 2 days. I will test and upload ASAP. Thanks 😊
@@GizmoDrones Thanks can't wait too see it.
